Roundhouse Winter Craft Beer Festival, Toronto, ON

Steam Whistle Brewing held their annual Roundhouse Winter Craft Beer Festival next to their brewery today ... I've been to most of them (plus the the summer ones).

It was held outside, which is very Canadian! We'd had a big snow storm last night so there was lots of snow. The sun was shining and it wasn't that cold.

The gate was due to open at 11am and Gord and I got there at just after noon ... our pal, Darlene, was already there.

Drink tokens were $2 each.

Here's what I had ... all were good!

Leslieville Beer Fest, Toronto, ON

Gord and I went to the Leslieville Beer Fest this afternoon … they closed off Dundas Street E between Logan and Carlaw for it.  The last time we'd been to this one was in 2016.

It was from 1pm to 8pm ... we got there just after 1pm.  We stayed until 4:30ish ... by then, we were getting hot (the sun had shifted and it was hard to find a shady spot) and hungry.

With your ticket price, you received a sample glass and three drink tickets ... and you could purchase more ($20 for 10).

It was crowded but not too crowded. It was good thinking of them to have lots of picnic tables in the shade to give the option of getting out of the hot sun.

Here's what I sampled:

Roundhouse Craft Beer Festival, Toronto, ON

The Summer Craft Beer Festival was back today for the first time in a couple years at Roundhouse Park and it was fun to be there.

The gates opened at noon.  Gord and I got there about 11:45m and there was a long line-up to get in but once the gates opens, the line moved really quickly.

Every year there is a giveaway to the first couple hundred  people ... this year it was a pink neon cap and we were there early enough to get one.  Whoohoo!

Toronto Craft Beer Festival, Ontario Place, Toronto, ON

The Toronto Craft Beer Festival is happening this weekend at Ontario Place and Gord and I went this afternoon.  It was fun to be back at a beer festival again ... it's been almost 2.5 years since the last one I attended.

Here’s the lower level of the Toronto Craft Beer Festival at Ontario Place. The band was good and played cover songs. It was hot and sunny, though, and there should have been more umbrellas.

Roundhouse Craft Beer Festival - Festival in a Box

Because of COVID, next weekend’s Roundhouse Craft Beer Festival has been cancelled.

Instead Steam Whistle put together a “festival in a box” and I ordered one ... and it just arrived. Whoohoo!

24 cans of beer ... from different Ontario craft brewers ... and different kinds (IPAs, sours, lagers, ales, pilsners, etc.) ... beers you can't usually get.

It will be fun trying them!

The Famous Canadian Beer Run, Toronto, ON

Today I was at the fourth annual The Famous Canadian Beer Run ... I'd done it last year and it was fun.  I think I'd signed up for this one right after the last one because they sent me an email with a low price.

Forget the medal, we give you beer! 🍺 Toronto’s beer-iest 5K fun run is back! Lace up for an easy (or hard) 5-kilometre run through Ontario Place, then cross the finish line into the heart of our Craft Beer & Food Festival where you’ll be bestowed with your own custom beer stein! Afterparty with friends, great Ontario craft beer and awesome live music!

It was held on the west island of Ontario Place.

I'd signed up for the 11am start.  I got there just after 10am to pick up my bib and teeshirt.

Today I was at the third annual The Famous Canadian Beer Run ... it's the first time I've done it.

This ain’t no beer mile! At Toronto’s beer-iest 5-kilometre fun run, the real party begins when you cross the finish line into the Craft Beer & Food Festival. Kick back with friends as you sample the finest Canadian craft brews, nosh on delicious food truck eats and enjoy live music all afternoon long. Custom beer stein, soft-cotton race shirt, two beers and an awesome race kit are all included!

I'd signed up for the 11am start.  I got there just after 10am to pick up my bib and teeshirt.

About 10:40am, we were corralled to get started.

And then we were off!  There were lots of runners and walkers ... I did a brisk walk and it took me about an hour.

Roundhouse Craft Beer Festival, Toronto, ON

I went to the Roundhouse Craft Beer Festival this afternoon with my pals, Darlene and Jennifer ... the festival was today and tomorrow.

This is the sixth time I've been to the summer one and I've also been to the winter ones.  It was a nice day for it ... sunny and warm.

Tickets (which included the tasting mug) were $25 in advance.  Tasting tokens were $1 each.  I had six left from last year and started with those (Darlene and I split a 10-pack later on).

The gates opened at noon.  I got there about 12:20pm and there was a long line-up to get in ... Darlene was ahead of me in line so I joined her (and then Jennifer arrived).  We still had about a fifteen minute wait to get in.  Every year there is a giveaway to the first couple hundred  people ... this year it was a fanny pack but we weren't there early enough to get one.

Roundhouse Winter Craft Beer Festival, Toronto, ON

Steam Whistle Brewing held their fifth annual Roundhouse Winter Craft Beer Festival next to their brewery today ... I've been to four over the years.

It was held outside, which is very Canadian!  The sky was grey, the temperature was just a bit chilly and it was snowing.

The gate was supposed to open at 11am and the first 500 in got a festive toque.  Darlene, Christine and I got in line about 11:30am ... it was a huge line and it took us about a half hour to get in.

I bought 20 drink tokens.

There were a lot of people already in when we got in.

I ran into my pal, Denyse. and her friend, Martin, right away.  They had gotten in line at 10:15am and had been one of the 500 to get a toque.

They recommended the cranberry cider from Ironwood Cider so that's what I started with.  It was delicious!
