Birthday Gift Card Pop-Up

My youngest son was invited to a birthday party for one of his friends today so yesterday we went into Wasilla to hit up Target and grab a gift card for his buddy. We got him one for Cold Stone Creamery and since the gift cards don't come with envelopes I decided to make a pop up gift card holder.

I have to admit, I wasn't sure what colors I should use, and I don't really have any sets geared to teen boys, so I went with DSP from Well Worn and since we're in Alaska I used the moose image from Definitively Decorative Pines. The text/ sentiments are from the set Bring On the Cake.

Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Definitively Decorative Pines, Bring On the Cake
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Well Worn DSP,  Neutrals DSP, Whisper White for the envelope
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: 1 1/4" circle punch, Simply Scored Tool

Popping Up Mothers Day with Friday Mashup

Hello again! It's Friday and that makes me especially happy because next Friday I start a weeks vacation from work and boy do I need it! LOL So YEAH for Fridays!

Of course another great thing about Friday is that its time for another Friday Mashup challenge and this week our challenge is brought to us by Heidi. She wants to create a project for mom, create a pop up card or mash it up and do both! We've also got another little twist this week....you can also choose to use the photo as inspiration, as we are joining forces with Paper Lovin' Gals for this challenge.

I am not going to lie, I don't like projects that require a lot of scoring, cutting or measuring. I just don't have the patience for it. I wanted to mash up the challenge but due to the reason I just gave I went with one of the easiest pop up cards you do :) You can find the tutorial here.

Since this was my first pop up card I kept it pretty simple with just the sentiment and the addition of the butterflies. From the picture I drew some inspiration from the darker edge of the plate and some of the hearts. The rest of it is WAYYY too pink for me...I am not a fan of pink at all, lol.

Make sure you head over to both The Friday Mashup and Paper Lovin' Gals to see the projects each design team came up with for this!

  1. Make a project for "Mom, Grandmother, Aunt etc...".
  2. Or Make a project with a " Pop-Up Element ".*
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a " Pop-Up Project for Mom".
  4. Or join in Both challenges and create a "Pop-Up Project for Mom using the inspiration photo "

*There are many different variations of Pop-Ups... Make sure something pops up when you open your project.
