Eggs - Our Beautiful World

No cards to share in this post, because I'm linking to Our Beautiful World Week 41 - Eggs.

I hope you'll click through to the OBW blog to see the gorgeous photos shared by the team.  All with the theme of Eggs this week.  Such amazing photography!

When I saw the theme for this week, I knew what I wanted to share.

This is an altered tea cup that I made as a gift.  I love using those tiny faux eggs...in a little nest, inside the cup.

Now that spring has finally arrived, here in Illinois, maybe I'll get the chance to see some Robin's eggs soon!

Peace be with you!

An altered teacup

Hey!  It's been two weeks since I posted.  Hmmm...maybe you didn't even miss me!?  That's ok :)

If receive my blog post via email, click HERE if you'd like to read this post directly from my blog.
So.  This is a very quick post to share an altered teacup that I created for one of my customers.  These are really a lot of fun to make.  I've got several photos, so that you can see some of the small details from different angles.

I used dried moss, excelsior, vintage lace, silk ribbon flowers, mini eggs, several decorative pins, a few buttons and a sentiment (from PTI) stamped onto a piece of very vanilla card stock (from SU!).  I added a little ink on the edges of the cardstock to give a bit of an aged appearance.  Oh, and a length of ribbon for hanging the teacup.

Thanks for stopping in to take a look!

An Anniversary Gift Set

Hi, this will be a short post.  I completed a customer order today for a couple who will soon be celebrating their first wedding anniversary.  A few of you may remember an altered teacup that I created last spring for my sister.  One of my customers asked for one, along with coordinating anniversary cards.  This is what I created today.

I pulled the colors for my cards from the colors on the teacup.  This was such a fun project to make.  A little change of pace for me.  I've gotta' get going.  Thanks so much for taking a look!

Two projects to share

Hey, just a quick post to share a couple of projects I created some time ago.  I made both of these in April, but couldn't share them until I'd given them to my sister.  Her birthday has passed now...so now I can share!

This first one was inspired by several framed button projects I've seen on the net.  Seeing those put some ideas in my brain.  Then, as I worked it evolved into this.

Ahhh.  This makes me smile.  I used all vintage buttons from my estate auction stash.  If you've followed my blog for a while you know how much I love them.  I just had to add that sentiment from PTI's Love Lives Here stamp set.  It says it all.

The other gift I created for my sister is an altered teacup.  I took the idea directly from Vicki Chrisman's blog post here.  And I let her know that I just had to copy her idea!

My sister collects pretty teacups and saucers.  So when I saw Vicki's pretty teacups, I knew I had to make one!
I brought my old hot glue gun up from the basement for this project.  I hadn't used it in years.  It still works :)
I had fun with this project.  I even tucked a few pieces of vintage lace into this teacup.

Well, I'd better get moving.  Thanks so much for taking a look!
