Happy Birthday - The Play Date Cafe Challenge 134

Hey, I'm back with my 3rd post this morning...before heading out to church :)
I was so busy with stamping and doing laundry yesterday (and a bit of time at an auction) that I didn't have time to write any posts last night.

This birthday card is going into the The Play Date Cafe challenge #134.  These challenge colors are so pretty.  Take a look.
See what I mean?  Very summery :)

My card ~

I have to admit.  I really struggled with this color combination.  I started out with a rose red card foundation, but it was just too much.  I wasn't getting the soft look that I wanted.  Once I changed to this Sahara Sand card stock, everything started to come together.  I'm very pleased with the results.
My flower is cut from some rose colored wool felt and topped with a button and some baker's twine.  I swiped a white ink pad along most of the edges, for a soft feeling.
I used a Sizzix die for the little frame.  You know what?  I've had that die for months, and this was the first time I've used it.  I'm liking this look, so I'll be using this die again and again.  Finally.

Well, I need to get going!
Thanks for stopping by to take a look.  I hope you'll leave a comment!
