Polish Pickup October 2024 Natural Phenomenon with Noodles Nail Polish Snow Halo

 *press sample*

Hello hello! It's going to be a busy Noodles Nail Polish week as I will be sharing the Halloween duo later this week. I just got home from Dallas yesterday for work and I am so exhausted. Oh, and my parents went on a camping vacation and somehow got Covid! The worst of it is over, but they are still recovering day by day.

Tonight I've got the Noodles Nail Polish Polish Pickup shade to share with you. This month's inspiration is Natural Phenomenon, and after a quick look at this month's offerings, there are so many purples! Like, a lot. The shop officially opens at 11:00 AM ET Friday, October 4th and ends on Monday, October 7th at 11:59 PM (but if a polish has a bottle limit and sells out before the end of the pre-order, it's gone, unless you get lucky and the cap gets raised...which can happen, but you have to be in the Facebook group for the notification) on the PPU website.

Noodles Nail Polish Snow Halo 1 coat (thumb, index, and thumb) over 2 coats Zoya Sia
Noodles Nail Polish Snow Halo (ring and pinkie) 3 coats only
Inspiration: a photo of a sun halo above a snowy forest
Price: $12
Bottle Limit: 200

We've got a glitter topper that can also be used as a regular nail polish in 3 coats! Snow Halo is a clear-based topper with white matte glitters, metallic light blue, orange/green iridescent glitter in a variety of hexagonal sizes, and a touch of red/copper/green shimmer finish. I've applied this over a vibrant blue, but I could see this working well with a variety of base colors. This one dries with lots of texture due to the glitter, so I recommend a glitter-smoothing topcoat for a glass-like finish.

Don't forget, this one does have a bottle limit, so if you're interested, don't wait too long to purchase. You can find out more about Noodles Nail Polish on their websiteInstagram pageFacebook page, and Facebook Fan Group

Notta Box November 2023 OOH Shiny Things: Naps and Nails Oberon

*press sample*

Hello hello! Yes, I'm back so soon, and this time with a new quarterly collaboration sale to the blog. Notta Box will be opening from November 10-15th and this month's theme is OOH Shiny Things. I'm glad that other collaborative boxes (or notta boxes 😂) are available these days. I know Polish Pickup scaled down their offerings a bit this year and there are requirements that make newer brands simply not able to partake. Shall we get a better look at what Naps and Nails will have for us this month?

Naps and Nails Oberon (2 coats)
Inspiration: Supernatural's very own Dean and his first encounter with Fairies.
Price: $13
Bottle Limit: None

I'm a big Supernatural fan, but somehow my husband and I just stopped watching after a bunch of seasons so I actually don't know how the show ended. Oops! I do remember this episode with Dean's encounter with Fairies! Oberon is a lime green base with silver reflective glitter, and shimmery shifts of green, pink, and gold. The reflective glitter adds a little texture to the finish, but I didn't find I needed to use a glitter smoothing topcoat. As soon as my husband saw this bottle, he told me "I need to put this one on my toes" which he totally did. If that isn't a glowing recommendation, I don't know what is.

There you have it, folks! I hope you'll stop by the Notta Box site on November 10th to see all the goodies, including this one. You can find out more about the Notta Box on their Instagram page while you can find out more about Naps and Nails on their website, Facebook Group, or Instagram pages.

Naps and Nails Hella Handmade Creations September 2023 Polish and Halloween Duo

 *press samples*

Hello hello! It's Monday yet again, but I'm super excited because my parents will be coming to visit this weekend! I don't get to see them often enough (they live out-of-state), so I appreciate any time we can spend together. Tonight I have 3 polishes from Naps and Nails for Hella Handmade Creations (HHC) which starts later this week. New to HHC? It works similarly to Polish Pickup where there's a pre-order for exclusive polishes with themes chosen by the brands participating. The pre-order opens every month on the 14th @ 12:01 am Eastern time and closes on the 21st @ 11:59 pm Hawaii time. During this time customers are able to shop all different brands within the shop and have everything ship from one location. This month Naps and Nails will continue their series on The Nun, Annabelle, and Conjuring Collection as well as having a special Halloween duo only available this month.

Shall we get a closer look at these shades?

Naps and Nails 90's Halloween Quad 2023 Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hello hello! It's a short work week and I'm loving it. I hope those of you in the US had a wonderful Labor Day on Monday. I rested up after my travels to San Francisco and I'm fine with that. My husband's birthday is this weekend so we'll be celebrating. Tonight I've got a 4-piece Halloween Collection inspired by Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Doug, and The Wild Thornberries. I was born in the 80's, so I was a little on the older side for a couple of these shows, but I definitely watched some Doug, Hey Arnold, Rocko's Modern Life, and The Angry Beavers on Nickelodeon. These will be available on Sunday, September 10th on the Naps and Nails website for $13 each or all 4 for just $50.

Shall we get a better look at these beauties?

Hella Handmade Creations August 2023 with Naps and Nails: Mullins Toy Company

 *press sample*

Why oh why can't the weekend go slower? It's already Sunday night and it still feels like Saturday. Tonight I have this month's shade from Naps and Nails for Hella Handmade Creations (HHC) which starts very soon. Shall we get a closer look at the Naps and Nails shade for the month?

Naps and Nails Mullins Toy Company (2 coats)
Inspiration: The Nun/Anabelle/ The Conjuring Collection
Price: $13
Bottle Limit: 100 Soft/250 Hard

Naps and Nails continues her series inspired by The Nun, Annabelle, and the Conjuring Collection with Mullins Toy Company. Question: are you a horror movie fan? I like them, but my husband doesn't, so I don't really watch them much anymore. It's just never as fun watching a horror movie alone. Mullins Toy Company is a blue leaning teal base with a gold/green shimmer, a slight holo finish with some black metallic flakes. It has a lot going on without being too busy if that makes sense. I've been extremely impressed with the formula of all the Naps and Nails polishes I've tried, and this one is no exception. It was extremely opaque and barely needed a second coat. I love it!

The 14th is basically upon us, and you can check out the website now to make your wishlist. Lots of items have caps, so make a list so you don't miss out on your favorites.

Starlight Polish Snow Day 2022 (1 coat) over Morgan Taylor Little Black Dress (2 coats)

Snow Day 2022 is a clear based topper with a mix of red and gold shimmer and flakes, meant to add a pop of warmth and sparkle over any color. Of course I used this over a black base so you can see all the extra goodies in this one as best as possible, but it truly can be worn over anything. It had the perfect density of flakes in just one simple coat and you can use regular brush strokes with it instead of having to dab it on. The flakes sit flat against the nail, so one coat of topcoat will easily smooth it all out.

Starlight has a wide variety of polishes and special effect toppers (see my previous posts here) so make sure to check out the store and to start a cart. Don't forget, the sale starts next Tuesday! You can find out more about Starlight and Sparkles on their websiteEtsy pageInstagramFacebook Group, and Facebook page.

Noodles Nail Polish New Years Polish: New Year Wishes Swatches and Review

*press sample*

Hi everyone! Yes, I'm back from my BTS concert and it was the best concert I've ever been to! There was excitement from the group and the audience that I've never experienced before. With all that has gone on in the world for the past few years, a weight was definitely lifted from my shoulders that night. I haven't been that happy in a really long time, and while I loved every minute of it, I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm a little sad it's over. Either way, I have pictures and little video clips to remind me of the good times. Tonight I've got the New Year's shade from Noodles Nail Polish which will be available this Friday, December 10th at 5 PM EST. In addition to this shade's release, there will also be PPU mystery grab bag trios available for $21 for 3 polishes. The potential shades available are:

-Crazy Plant Lady
-You're Such A Gem
-All In A Days Lurk
-A Very Neat Monster
-Who Done It?
-Strut Your Stuff
-Adventure Is Up
-It's A Nice Day For A Covid Wedding
-Snorkel Zone
-Night Fury
-Lavender Lemonade
-Colors Of The Wind

Natalie mentioned that some polishes have just 1 bottle left while some she has many. This is a great deal for these, so if you missed out on some of them, definitely pick up a bag. Shall we check out the New Year's polish?

Noodles Nail Polish New Year Wishes (2 coats) ($10)

Let's take a moment to appreciate the color combination here. New Year Wishes is a sky blue crelly base with white/black/gold hexagonal glitters and a touch of gold shimmer. The gold and black against that blue is especially eye-catching. I have a crap load of polishes, but I don't think I have anything with this color combo. I went ahead and used 2 thicker coats for this one and it applied easily. It does dry with texture from the glitters, so I would recommend a glitter top coat followed by a quick-dry topcoat (or just 2 coats of a thicker topcoat).

There you have it, folks! If you plan on picking this one up, definitely check out the PPU mystery trio because it's such a great deal. Even if you get one that you already have, you can always sell it or give it to a friend. You can find out more about Noodles Nail Polish on their websiteInstagram pageFacebook page, and Facebook Fan Group.

Zoya Cosmic Trio 2021 Limited Edition Swatches and Reviews

 *press samples*

Hello hello! Zoya has their seasonal collections as well as a few others like the Naturel line that usually comes around once a year. They also do some limited edition shades, and the trio I have to share with you tonight just so happens to be limited. I'm not sure how long these will be available, so if you find any that catch your eye, please don't wait too long to pick them up. This Cosmic Trio contains "holographic shades that are inspired by the unique star clusters of outer space. These astral shades are created with a blend of metallic glitter, and holographic particles in 5 different sizes to give a dynamic effect creating a soft textured finish, but can be paired with Ultra Glossy Top Coat to create a smooth and shiny surface." These retail for $12 each, but if you purchase the set for $36, you get all 3 polishes, 3 of their Z-wide brushes, and their glossy topcoat as well. Swatch time!

Zoya Celestia (3 coats)

Shall we start with my favorite of the 3? Celestia is a silver that leans a bit taupe with blue/purple shifting shimmer and a scattered holographic finish. I just love that pop of shimmer that contrasts from the lighter base. These are a bit sheerer, but they are designed to be that way. I didn't try them as toppers, but a few other bloggers did, and they work great as long as you use really thin coats. They dry with a little texture, but not as much as I expected. I do recommend a thick topcoat to smooth it all out though.

Zoya Eradani (2 coats)

Eradani is a bit different than the other 2. The finish isn't quite the same (the pure holo finish like the others isn't there), but that doesn't mean it isn't beautiful all the same. Eradani is a magenta microglitter with indigo shimmer and a slight holo finish. This one was more opaque, but I found the formula to be a bit gummy, so work slowly.

Zoya Polaris (3 coats)

Last, but not least we have Polaris which is a rose gold microglitter with pink/purple shimmer and a scattered holo finish. I really wanted to love this one, but I just don't think it looks great with my skintone. It's not the polish's fault...I really think this will look beautiful on lots of other people. The formula was good in 3 coats.

There you have it, a short and sweet trio. This is why I love Zoya; most mainstream brands don't do holographic polishes, especially ones with contrasting shimmers. Remember, these can go away at any moment, so pick yours up while you can.

Zoya polishes retail for $12 and you can find out more about them on their websiteFacebookTwitter, or Instagram pages. Keep an eye out for them in your local Ulta store if you want to see the bottles in person before you buy. They often have sales, so check their social media pages periodically.
