Noodles Nail Polish Fall 2024 Collection Swatches and Reviews

 *press samples*

Hi everyone! I need to apologize for the lack of posts lately. In mid-August we had to put our 19-year-old cat, Mr. Nose, down. It was devastating. We just lost our Clipsy cat at Christmas, so we are still raw from that. And honestly, September has been a blur so far. With the sad news out of the way, I have much more exciting things to share with you tonight. You all know Noodles Nail Polish's fall collections have always been a favorite of mine. Natalie really captures that fall feeling with her crellies. Tonight I've got swatches of the 6-piece collection that will be released this Saturday, September 21st at 5 PM EST on the Noodles website. Each polish will retail for just $10.50 each. Swatch time!

Zoya February 2024 Color of the Month: Love

*press sample*

New month, new Color of the Month polish from Zoya. February is all about love, and that goes for your nails. I wanted to get this post out as soon as possible, because these limited edition polishes from Zoya are around for approximately a month. It may be March 1st, or it could be later in the month, but none of the other COTM shades are currently available, so there's that. This month we have Love, and it retails for $12 and you can get free shipping with code LOVE24.

Zoya Love (2 coats)

We have a glitter polish that covers in 2 coats! Love is a red jelly base with loads of various sized hexagonal red glitter. It reminds me of Dorothy's Ruby Red Slippers, don't you think? The polish applies well, and has so much glitter so you don't have to dab it on (regular strokes is fine). It does dry with texture from all the glitter, so I recommend a glitter smoothing topcoat for that smooth finish. I'm actually a big fan of this one and I've been wearing it for the past 3 days. What do you think of this month's shade?

You can find out more about Zoya on their websiteFacebookTwitter, or Instagram pages. They often have sales, so check their social media pages periodically.

Zoya November 2023 Color of the Month: Amaris

 *press sample*

Zoya Amaris (2 coats)

Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers! I wanted to get this post out as soon as possible, because Zoya has these limited editions that are their Color of the Month shades and I'm unsure how long it will be available. It may be December 1st, or it could be later in the month, but none of the other COTM shades are currently available, so there's that. This month we have Amaris, and it retails for $12 and you can get free shipping with code CTM77.

Ok, on to the polish: Amaris is a teal-leaning blue jelly base with loads of holographic hexagonal glitters. I thought it could be a 3-coater since it's a jelly, but I needed just 2 thicker coats for full opacity. It does dry with texture from all the glitters, so I recommend a glitter-smoothing topcoat followed by a QDTC, or at least 2 coats of a regular topcoat. What do you think of this month's shade?

You can find out more about Zoya on their websiteFacebookTwitter, or Instagram pages. They often have sales, so check their social media pages periodically.

Naps and Nails Holomaniacs and Fantasmic Flakies Facebook Group Exclusive Polishes and Reviews: Holo-Biscus and Love Me or Leaf Me

 *press samples*

Hi everyone! We have the Daylight Savings Time change tonight and I'm dreading it. It's so hard going to work and coming home from work in the dark everyday. Does anyone really like DST? It was a long work week, so I really needed this weekend to rest up. Tonight I have 2 Facebook Group exclusives to share with you from Naps and Nails. Both colors are available now through the end of the month on the Naps and Nails website for $12 each (to get the polish, you must be a member of the respective group to get the code to purchase the polish).  The first shade is for the Holomaniacs Group and is named Holo-Biscus and and second is for the Fantasmic Flakies Group and is named Love Me or Leaf Me and both are inspired by a photo chosen by the group. Shall we get a closer look at these beauties?

Naps and Nails Holo-Biscus (2 coats)
Inspired By: Winning Group Photo
Price: $12

Up first we have Holo-Biscus which is a red base with shimmery shifts of red/fuchsia/purple and orange/red shifting flakes with a holo finish. Even if you're in low indoor light, you still get to see the shifty purple shimmer in the base. When you're in sunlight, the holo finish really comes into play. There are some flakes in there, but if a flakie bomb isn't your thing, I think this will still work well for you. I used 2 thicker coats for full opacity, but it dried with a smooth finish, so a single coat of topcoat was all that was needed.

Price: $12

Continuing on we have Love Me or Leaf Me for the Fantasmic Flakies group, and boy, does this one pack a punch in the flakie department! It is a cobalt blue jelly base with shifting flakes of red/orange/gold/green and a slight holo finish. I absolutely am in love with the flakes in this one! It really looks like leaves floating in water, right? I used 2 thicker coats for full coverage, and surprisingly this one also still dried with minimal texture even with all the flakes.

There you have it, folks! Don't forget to join the groups to pick these up because they are both beautiful. You can find out more about Naps and Nails on their website, Facebook Group, or Instagram pages.

Polish Pickup September 2023 Haunted History: Noodles Nail Polish Bewitching Bridget

 *press sample*

Hello hello! Guess who is super tired? Yup, I flew to San Francisco for work last week, and had to take a red-eye back the other day. I'm just not cut out for red-eyes anymore. I have a feeling I'm gonna need multiple naps this week. Anyway, can you believe Polish Pickup (PPU) is upon us already? This month's theme is Haunted History which is appropriate for Halloween which is quickly approaching. The website is open now for making your wishlists, so stop on over and set that up if something you want has a bottle limit. It seems like things have been selling out fairly quickly which is great for the brands participating.

The shop officially opens at 11:00 AM ET Friday, September 1st and ends on Monday, September 4th at 11:59 PM (but if a polish has a bottle limit and sells out before the end of the pre-order, it's gone, unless you get lucky and the cap gets raised...which is rare) on the PPU website. Just a heads-up, PPU raised their base shipping rates from $3 to $4 for the lightest packages. If you get heavier items, I believe shipping prices get higher from there. Let's get a closer look at this month's Noodles Nail Polish offering.

Noodles Nail Polish Bewitching Bridget (2 coats)
Inspiration: Bridget Bishop. She was executed during the Salem Witch Trials and was believed to be a witch due to being outspoken, deliberately dressing differently, and “bewitching” people. She is said to haunt “Turner's Seafood” in Salem, which was built on land that she owned.
Price: $12
Bottle Limit: 300 bottles

When I saw the bottle of Bewitching Bridget, I knew I'd love it. It's described as a deep navy crelly base with gold/copper/green color-shifting flakes with green/orange iridescent glitters, copper holo glitters, and metallic caramel glitters. While this is described as a crelly, it seemed a little more squishy and jelly-like than a true crelly. I wasn't quite sure if it would be a 2 or 3 coater, but I'm happy to report that I needed just 2 coats for full opacity. It will dry with texture, so I recommend a glitter-smoothing topcoat followed by a QDTP for that glass-like finish. If you prefer 2 coats of a thicker topcoat, that should work as well. Most months Natalie is able to not have a bottle limit, but this month there is a cap of 300 bottles, so be aware of that.

There you have it, folks. What do you plan on picking up this month? Start your wishlist now so you don't miss out on any capped items. You can find out more about Noodles Nail Polish on their websiteInstagram pageFacebook page, and Facebook Fan Group

Polish Pickup December 2022 Maker's Choice Swatches and Reviews

I'm back tonight with the final Polish Pickup for the year. Can you believe it?! From some rumblings around some Facebook groups, it sounds like there will be some changes to PPU next year, and I'll be interested to see how that goes. I'll make sure to post about that when it comes straight from the headquarters since perhaps some of it could be rumors. As I said in my last post, Issa from Starlight Polish is back and she has a new shade for this month's PPU. This month's theme is Maker's Choice which I think is a perfect way to end the year because I'm sure brands have prototypes that they love that just haven't fit with any theme, and they can use it here. The website just opened for wishlisting, but also make sure to join the Polish Pickup Pack Facebook Group as swatches pop up left and right there as well.

The shop officially opens at 11:00 AM ET Friday, December 2nd and ends on Monday, December 5th at 11:59 PM (but if a polish has a bottle limit and sells out before the end of the pre-order, it's gone, unless you get lucky and the cap gets raised...which is rare) on the PPU website. Shall we get to some swatches?

Noodles Nail Polish Hanukkah Nights (3 coats)
Inspiration: Hanukkah decor
Price: $11.50
Bottle Limit: None

I just want to say how happy I am that there is a Hanukkah polish. I'm all about inclusivity, and not everyone celebrates Christmas, so give us all the variations! Hanukkah Nights gives us awesome glitter shapes, and I'm here for it. It's a pale blue crelly base with white/silver/blue glitters with white stars and blue moons. I went ahead and flipped the bottle for about a half hour before applying it to let the stars and moons sink to the top of the bottle. I used 3 thin coats for my photos while with the third I focused on dabbing the larger glitters on. Use thin coats, otherwise it can get too thick and you may get wrinkling when it dries. I would definitely recommend a glitter smoothing topcoat if you have one to make sure it evens it all out.

Starlight Polish Verdant Scales (2 coats)
Inspiration: I haven't been in the best place the last few months, so for this month, I decided to create a polish that made me happy.  I felt like making a green, and winter makes me think of dragons, so Verdant Scales was born.
Price: $16
Bottle Limit: 250 bottles

As someone who also had some tough months throughout the pandemic, I empathize with Issa. I'm so glad she's back to making new polishes, and I hope this creative outlet helps her even more. Verdant Scales is a green jelly with gold to bronze to green shifting old school UP sibling pigment, a touch of holographic shimmer, and scattered glitter, in both green to gold iridescent and green holographic. I did my best to show the shifting shimmer, but it's even more evident in real life. Don't be alarmed by it being a jelly; this one is still quite pigmented, and I got away with using just 2 coats for my swatches. Despite having a little glitter in there, just a regular coat of topcoat should be enough for a smooth finish.

There you have it, folks! I'm making sure to set aside some money for PPU this month, because I know all of us will be partaking in all these Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales going on. Have a great one!
