Polish Pickup (PPU) October 2018: Static Lacquer No Man Can Kill Me

*press sample*

Hi guys! The October Polish Pickup (PPU) is fast approaching, and I have several to share with you this month. The theme this time is Villians, which is somewhat similar to last month's offerings (Horror Movies). Tonight I have Static Lacquer's shade and boy is it pretty. The inspiration chosen was the Witch King of Angmar (aka Lord of Mogul), the leader of ring wraiths from J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. If you want to learn more about the famous Witch King, I found this video to be very informative:

Static Lacquer's No Man Can Kill Me will be available in the PPU website from 11 AM EST 10/5-10/8 for $12.00 with a cap of 200 bottles.

Static Lacquer No Man Can Kill Me (3 coats)

No Man Can Kill Me is a black jelly base with green shimmer, silver holo flakes, and blue/green/gold UCC flakes. If you're not a fan of black polishes, don't worry, the flakes and shimmer are quite prominent so it doesn't really look black. I used 3 thin coats for full coverage, but you may be able to get away with using 2 thicker coats. The formula was slightly thick, but in a good way. It dried with no texture, and was easy to remove.

Stacy really works her magic with the use of the silver holo flakes. I'd say it's almost a signature look for her. If you're looking for a beautiful polish to wear this fall, definitely check out No Man Can Kill Me! Again, it will be available at 11 AM EST on Friday, Oct. 5th for $12 with a cap of 200 bottles. You can learn more about Static Lacquer on their websiteFacebookGroup, and Instagram pages, while you can find more about PPU on their Facebook page and website.

Static Lacquer Summer 2018 Neon Collection Swatches & Reviews

*press samples*

Hi guys, TGIF! I'm back yet again this week to show you another new collection releasing this weekend. Mace Polish has changed names to Static Lacquer, and they are starting things off with a bang. It's a 6-piece set of neons that are black light reactive and also watermarble. Also releasing at the same time is their Crystalline (fast-drying 5-free topcoat, $7) and Overcast (10-free matte topcoat, $7) which I used for the swatches below. The names for each polish is inspired by the song The Afterglow from the band Silverstein. If you are interested, you can check out the song here:

The collection will release this Sunday, July 29th in the Static Lacquer site for $10 each or $46 for the whole collection. Neons are notoriously hard to capture, but I did my very best to show these as color accurate as possible. Without further ado, let's do this!

Polish Pickup (PPU) August 2018: Static Lacquer's Naive & Starry Eyed

*press sample*

Hi guys! I've had a really rough week, so I apologize for my absence. The loss of my friend and lots of travel means little time for the blog. While I'm not 100% ready to be back, being prompt and professional in getting swatches done on time is very important to me. I have a bunch of posts lined up for the week, so I hope you'll stop back in to see some beautiful colors from Static Lacquer and Noodles Nail Polish. Tonight I have a polish from the August Polish Pickup (PPU) which has a musical theme this month. While I personally don't watch very many musicals, I definitely appreciate the art and how powerful they can be. This is the first time Stacy from Mace Polish will be a part of PPU under her new brand, Static Lacquer. Same great maker and customer service, just a new name and logo. All PPU shades will be available from Fri, Aug 3rd at 11 AM ET through Monday Aug 6th at 11:59 PM ET. Static Lacquer's Naive & Starry Eyed will be capped at 150 bottles and will retail for $13 each. Go ahead and hit that button for more pics and information.

July 2018 Talk Indie to Me Collab Box: Mace Polish Flip Flops & Sun Hats

*press sample*

Hi guys! I have a polish from a new collab box called Talk Indie to Me. The recurring brands in the box are Zombie Claw and Nailed It Nail Polish with a special guest every month. This month will be extra special because there will be 8 different nail polishes and 5 bath & body products available. Instead of buying the whole box, you can pick and choose what you want to purchase similar to PPU. The July theme was Summer Daze, and I have Mace Polish's contribution to share with you. The items will be available from July 13-16, so don't delay getting your purchases in. I just noticed on the Talk Indie to Me Facebook Group that if you spend at least $45 this month you will receive 15% off. So many sales this month!

Mace Polish Flip Flops & Sun Hats (2 coats)

Flip Flops & Sun Hats (fun name!) is a bright neon teal base with lots of silver holo microflakes. Stacy mentioned that this has a subtle shift from green to blue to gold, but I couldn't really see it with my eye. I'm sure it's there (she made the polish and all), but I didn't notice it until I looked at her description. Even if I didn't see any shift, I absolutely love the abundance of silver holo flakies in here. Out in the sunshine the colors really dance on the nails. It's not like a linear holo flash, but stunning nonetheless. Oh, and this one is black light reactive! This was my very first time trying to photograph a black light reactive polish, so please forgive me if it isn't perfect. The formula was slightly thicker in a good way. It completely covered in 2 coats, and dried with a smooth finish.

This one will be available from July 13-16 for $11 in the Talk Indie to Me website. This is the perfect summer shade, especially if you go cosmic bowling or clubbing. Do people still go cosmic bowling, because that was awesome. Don't forget, if you spend at least $45, you'll get 15% off. You can learn more about Mace Polish on their websiteFacebook, and Instagram pages.

California Lovin' July 2018 Indie Duo Collaboration: Mace Polish and 1850 Artisan Polish

*press samples*

Hi guys! This week has me all messed up. I swear that today is Sunday and not Thursday. I received 2 days off for the 4th, and was a much needed break. Tonight I have a special new collaboration from Stacy at Mace Polish (soon to be Static Lacquer). The California Lovin' set will be available bi-monthly (every other month, not twice a month) and will feature Mace Polish/Static Lacquer with a different special guest brand from the great state of California. The duos will be $20 + shipping in the Static Lacquer website

This month's guest is 1850 Artisan Polish which is a brand that has been on my radar since they started back in January. After trying them here for the first time, this won't be my last! The inspiration for this month's duo is a photo of the Painted Ladies of San Francisco at sunset. To be honest, I had to Google it 😬 I felt so foolish after I did so.

They are amazing pieces of architecture and full of color. The duo is available now for pre-order through Tuesday, July 10th at 11:59 PM PST. Since it is a pre-order, it will take about 2-3 weeks after the pre-order ends for items to ship. Now that we've gotten through all the info, shall we get to the swatches?

July 2018 Polish Pickup Rewind: Mace Polish's Starlight Starbright

*press sample*

Hi guys! I'm finally back from my work trip. Tomorrow happens to be the 4th of July, so I get to rest up a little bit. Well, that and watch some fireworks! I've had the chance to review a few Polish Pickup colors in the past, and instead of a regular month, PPU is taking July off. Each brand is permitted to re-release a polish of their choice in their respective storefronts. Mace Polish (soon to be Static Lacquer), has chosen Starlight Starbright from the January Crystals & Gemstones to bring back, and it's available now for $12 through July 31st with a cap of 150 bottles. All orders with Starlight Starbright will receive 15% off their entire purchase with code ILOVEPPU. It seems like most brands are running sales for a percentage off or free shipping to offset the shipping you have to pay. Keep reading for more pics and the full review.

Mace Polish November 2017 Duo Swatches and Reviews: Crunchy Leaves and Frosty Leaves

Hi guys! I'm still trying to catch up on sleep since I've been home. The weather has been super weird around here as well. Yesterday it snowed, and today it was in the 50s. Apparently there's a chance for snow this weekend, too! How is the weather in your neck of the woods? Tonight I have a duo from Mace Polish to show you. They are no longer on Etsy, so make sure to stop by their BigCartel site. It just so happens that a new 7-piece Disney Collection is releasing tomorrow, so don't forget to check that out. I don't see the duo I'm showing tonight on the website, but there are lots of other flakie polishes that are just as pretty. Shall we settle in for some swatches?

Polish Pickup December 2017 Mace Polish Swatches and Review: Light Bringer

*press sample*

Hi guys! I know, I'm blogging on a Sunday which is a huge shocker. I know lots of you are into the new big thing in indie polish: Polish Pickup. Tonight I have a new brand on the blog, and it just so happens to be their first month being a part of Polish Pickup. The owner of Mace Polish is Stacy, and she was kind enough to let me swatch her first Polish Pickup color named Light Bringer. Next I need to explain how this super awesome new thing called the Polish Pick up works. First, definitely join the Polish Pickup Facebook Group. You don't necessarily need to actively participate in the group, but it will give you a look into the polishes coming that month. Do you hate it when a new indie box comes out with multiple brands and you only really love one of the colors? What do you do then? Destash the ones you don't want? Just suck it up and buy it and keep them all because you're too lazy to destash? Well, there's now a group and website called Polish Pickup that will open for suggestions for box themes for the upcoming month. Everyone votes, and the winner becomes the theme for a future box. Any indie brand can participate and has their own specific inspiration picture and polish for that month. All you need to do is go to the Polish Pickup site during the pre-order window (the first Friday-Monday of the month) to make all of your purchases of these exclusive polishes. There's no need to pay for multiple shipping charges; since this is a pre-order, all polishes get sent to Polish Pickup and they send you the polishes you ordered. Yup, it's that simple. Oh, and shipping is a flat-rate of $3 to the US and Canada.

The December theme is Holidays Around the World and the store will open on December 1 and close on December 4th. Last month there were over 50 brands represented, so I'm guessing we'll have at least that many this month. Shall we see what Mace Polish has in store for us this coming month? This one has a cap at 70 bottles, so start your shopping early!
