Swatch and Review: Emily de Molly Oceanic Forces

This was a polish that was a lemming of mine for an exceptionally long time. I don't own a lot of indie brands, but this was the first I ever saw use the big circle glitter and I fell in love.

Check out Emily de Molly Oceanic Forces!

Oceanic Forces is a dark teal jelly base with silver holo and hex glitter. The above is with three coats.

The goods: This color is stunning. The depth of the jelly is breathtaking and there are plenty of silver circles to go around.

The bads: The circular glitter took a long time to fish out, the polish took even longer to dry, and last, it turned my nails yellow. YELLOW. And I use basecoat!

Now, it could be that the polish reacted poorly to the basecoat, which was the OPI Glitter Base. I didn't care to try again with another, but would be interested to hear if you've had similar or different results with other basecoats!

Emily de Molly is available via the brand website for Australian residents or at seven different stockists, which cover the US, Canada, and Europe, and ship worldwide! Prices vary based on retailer.

Swatch & Review: SoFlaJo Silverado

Happy Thursday, my lovelies!

Today's featured polish is by the wonderful brand, SoFlaJo! You may remember this awesome indie for Pendragon, Sunset Grille, and Ghost of a Chance. This shade is from the brand new Matte Love Collection, which features seven shimmers that can be worn as matte (which is how they dry) or with top coat for some big time pop!

The polish I'm showing you today is called Silverado!

Silverado is a matte charcoal polish with holo glitter. Here, it is with two coats.

You all know me. I'm not exactly a fan of mattes. But this one was a shade I could wear without issue all day, every day.

And bonus...

Look at how gorgeous it looks with top coat! It's a little blacker with gloss, but you can see how much the shimmer pops in this one. I can't wait to two-tone this with a glossy tip French manicure or stripes. Or some other awesome options!

Overall, this was a BIG winner for me. If you're a fan of mattes, this is totally for you. Even if you're not, this one will definitely surprise you.

All SoFlaJo polishes are available on her website. The full Matte Love Collection consists of a yellow (Going Down), magenta (Pink it Up!), amethyst (Involved), solid black (Black Dagger), Silverado, black shimmer (Black Beauty), and white (White Sensation). They are $5 for a mini bottle (5mL) and $10 for a full sized bottle (15mL). The mini set is $35 with discounted shipping.

I LOVED this shade. How about you?

Swatch and Review: Whimsical Ideas by Pam Seuss for World Diabetes Day

Hi everyone! Today's a brief post in honor of World Diabetes Day and I must send out a big thank you to Victoria of Manicurator for this polish. She sent it to me as part of my birthday group this month!

Seuss by Whimsical Ideas by Pam is a milky turquoise polish with blue microglitter and red and silver hexagonal glitters suspended inside! This is with three coats and it applied beautifully.

I. Love. This.

Why?

Because it reminds me of my very own Thing 1 and Thing 2, of course! Red, blue, and silver... The Cat in the Hat? How could it be anything else! :-D

Polishes from Whimsical by Pam are available through her Facebook page and retail for $10 per bottle.

Tell me... how are you more obsessed with the polish? Or my dogs' costumes? I'm having trouble deciding for myself!

Hurricane Sandy Polish Fundraiser

Hi, everyone! It has been a long time since I was able to post on here. Thank you for all of your kind words of support as we work through Day 7 of no power or heat in my house! I was very fortunate to incur very little damage to my home, with only one tree falling away from our house and a few lost shingles/pieces of siding.

However, it is horrifying to see the devastation only a few miles away from me at the Jersey Shore. The Jersey Shore and areas of Staten Island, Queens, Manhattan, and many other places were decimated by Sandy. While I'm unable to currently travel to these areas at daylight to volunteer because law school has resumed for me, and they are scheduling us for weekends to make up for days lost, I wanted to do my part and raise money to help those in need.

Subsequently, I have created two holographic shades that I'm now selling called Empire Strong and Jersey Strong, with 100% of the profits going to two government-verified charities. The money will be evenly divided between the Sandy NJ Relief Fund and the Mayor's Fund for Hurricane Sandy Relief.

I apologize for the lackluster photos, but as my power is out, all I have at my disposal is my iPhone. I will post better ones when my power returns. For some reason, Blogger is making the photos a little wonky. However, they are accurate on the store page.

Empire Strong is an icy blue linear holographic polish.

Jersey Strong is an electric emerald green linear holo polish.

Empire Strong and Jersey Strong are sold in full-sized, 15 mL bottles for $15 each on the Princess Polish Online Store. If you purchase both bottles, any additional bottles of either ship for free. $1.50 is flat rate for the Hurricane Relief polishes. :-D

I know that these bottles are more than my regular LE shades, but my goal is to ensure that each bottle sold ensures at least $5 goes to each charity. I hope that you understand. :)

Please be sure to pass this along to friends and share on Facebook. I promise to update you with our fundraising progress with each passing day!

With love, gratitude, and well wishes,
Princess Polish

ANNOUNCING: The Must Be Jelly Collection by Princess Polish

I'm INCREDIBLY EXCITED today to officially announce the launch of my own line of indie polishes called... what else... Princess Polish!

The first collection consists of five holo jelly shades that are perfect for spring and summer called Must Be Jelly.

WARNING: This is going to be majorly pic heavy!

Here is a shot of the mini bottles, which were what I used to officially formulate the collection. I'm in the process of making labels and decorating the caps, but I couldn't wait to show you all. From left to right, there is Strawberry Jam, Mint Jelly, Grape Jelly, Orange Marmalade, and Blueberry Jam.

Here is Strawberry Jam, Mint Jelly, Grape Jelly, and Orange Marmalade in the shade.

And here they are in artificial light. Unfortunately, we're in the first few days of a week of rain here in Jersey, so I couldn't get a sunlight pic. But will post one to my Facebook page as soon as the sun rears her head again!

In case you were in need of more sparkly, holo goodness, here are close ups of each shade!

Blueberry Jam, a bright blue linear holo jelly.

Grape Jelly, a rich purple linear holo jelly.

Mint Jelly, a lime scattered holo jelly.

Orange Marmalade, a bright tangerine scattered holo jelly.

And last, but not least... Strawberry Jam, a rich magenta holo jelly.

The shades are currently available for pre-order here for the next 48 hours (through 11:59pm EST Wednesday), as part of a Facebook and Princess Polish reader exclusive! It is $5 per shade for a mini bottle (5mL), $8.50 for a full sized bottle (15mL), $22.50 for the Mini Collection (5 bottles), and $40 for the Full Sized Collection.

After that, the shades will be available on a permanent basis through the Princess Polish Store on Storenvy starting in the middle of June.

So what do you all think of my babies? I've been working so hard on them and I'm dying to know what you all think! I'm going to be updating my page with bottle shots once they're decorated and labeled, so stay tuned!

With much love,
Princess Polish
