Milani Fierce Foil Nail Lacquer Snowflake Nail Art

While swatching the brand new Milani Fierce Foil collection, I found my snowflake nail vinyls and thought that the colors would lend themselves nicely to a little winter nail art.

For this look, I used Milani Venice and Rome:

Milani Venice is a cobalt blue metallic polish that I used for the snowflakes and Milani Rome is a metallic orchid that I used as the base.

I really liked how wintery these came out with the combination of colors, but also the metallic shimmer. It's still colorful, but icy in a way. I really loved it.

And even though these are metallic, I had no issues with staining or removal. These came off really easily.

Stay tuned for a full review of the entire Milani Fierce Foil Nail Lacquer collection later this week! In the meantime, you can find these two shades at your local CVS for $3.99. But act fast! These are limited edition!

Swatch and Review: Milani Color Statement Skittle Nails

Good evening to you all and a very happy weekend!

Over the course of the past few months, I've been doing a lot of nail art with my new Milani Color Statement polishes. I've used blues and reds and greens and sheers... but there are so many more shades in the collection. So to keep this post relatively short and sweet, while having all the colors in a single post, I decided to skittle swatch the polishes. However, I kept them in color groups for easy viewing.

All polish names are listed from index to pinky finger and have two coats applied.

Swatch and Review: Barielle AND a Promo Code

Recently, I had the opportunity to select three shades from Barielle to review for you all. It was an arduous process to narrow my choices down, but I finally landed on Blue Cotton Candy, Decadence, and Do Unto Others.

However, my all-time favorite Barielle is Elle's Spell, so I included that in here, too!

Zoya Jewel Tone Circus Dots

Hello again, everyone! Today I'm bringing you some nail art using the Zoya Fall 2013 Collection!

When they first came in the mail, the two that stood out immediately to me were Mason, a metallic magenta, and Giovanna, a metallic teal.

As I was swatching Flynn, a caramel creme shade, I thought about how nice of a contrast there was between the brown and the jewel tones.

Here is the end result and it is one of my favorite color combinations to date!

The contrast between the jewel tones and the neutral is definitely highlighted in the sun. I loved rocking this combo!

More sparkle!

What do you think of this color and design combo? I'm in such a polka dot mood lately!

Swatch and Review: Zoya Irresistible Day 3 - Bobbi

Hope you're all having a great weekend! The heatwave here in the Northeast has FINALLY broken, so we're all very excited in my house. I never thought I'd be so happy to work in an office building in my LIFE.

Next up in the Zoya Irresistible Week is Bobbi!

Bobbi is a magenta foil, with orange, gold, and silver shimmer. The above is with two coats.

I probably could have gotten away with just one coat, but I like to use two just for the sake of making things even.

What do you think of Bobbi?

Swatch and Review: Zoya Irresistible Day 2 - Hazel

Happy Friday, everyone! Today, I have for you the second shade in the Zoya Irresistible Collection...

Zoya Hazel!

Zoya Hazel is a blue-green foil metallic, with ice blue and olive green undertones. The above is with two coats.

Hazel is definitely a cousin of Crystal and Fei Fei. It's pretty close to Fei Fei, but I think she's a little more golden than olive. Crystal is icier, with silver glitter in there.

So what do you think of Hazel? If you already own Crystal and/or Fei Fei, would you pick her up?

Today's polish is Kerry, a light yellow gold foil metallic. She's like a beach blonde!

Kerry is very delicate, but also packs a big punch in the glitter department.

Swatch & Review: Color Secrets Amelie and Moulin Rouge

Hey, everyone! Thanks for sticking with me this week... I appreciate it! I'm so glad to be back!

Today, I have two polishes to show you from a new brand called Color Secrets. One of the really cool things about their polishes is the fact that every single one is named after a movie, most of which are chick flicks. Some of my favorites used are Casablanca, Miss Congeniality, Clueless, She's All That, Tangled, Notebook, Pretty in Pink, Never Been Kissed, Dirty Dancing, Devil Wears Prada, Love Actually, the Breakfast Club, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Night at the Roxbury, and Across the Universe!

I received Moulin Rouge and Amelie! How Academy Awards appropriate, right?

First up is Moulin Rouge, a juicy strawberry polish with electric pink glass flecks.

Swatch and Review: Zoya Lovely

Good morning, my lovelies! So sorry for the break in posting... I was overwhelmed with school work. But am so excited to bring you the swatches of the Zoya Lovely Collection!

A little fair warning before you peruse through the rest of the post. For those of you who haven't been following the saga of my alligator skin on Facebook, I used Cutex non-acetone remover with the foil method and it turned my skin into a cracked mess. So this was the very beginning of that. I apologize for any trauma it may induce, but you should be thankful I didn't swatch these a week later. Blech.

The first of the three cremes in this collection is Zoya Blu, a chalky pastel blue creme. The above was with two coats. I really liked this color and I think it can work with just about any skin tone. I loved this. The formula was not too liquidy on this, which was great.

Next is Zoya Neely, a pale mint creme. With two coats, the formula and coverage on this was also great. I'm going through a mint phase these days, so I was VERY happy with this shade!

The last of the cremes is Jacqueline, a camel-beige shade. Oh, how I wanted to like her. But I just couldn't. The above was with three coats and you can still see it's uneven and gloopy. Also, the formula was super watery and pooled at the cuticles. Just so hard to be neat with.

This shade made my skin look yellow and ruddy, which is not ideal for a pale girl like me.

I wanted to use this as a base for a water marble, but I couldn't even get it to dry after two hours and a coat of HK Girl. This was the only failure of the collection, in my opinion.

The first of the shimmers in the Lovely collection is Piaf, likely named for Edith Piaf. It's funny... I would have pictured Piaf being the pink (as in La Vie en Rose), but I still liked this shade. This yellow veered slightly towards the olive end of the spectrum, but that's what made it unique.

This is with two coats and the formula was excellent.

Zoya Julie is the purple shimmer in this bunch, which automatically makes it my favorite. It has a bit of a frosty/metallic quality to it. And that's very unique. Not like anything in my purple drawer, that's for certain.

Two coats again above and great formula!

The sixth and final polish is Zoya Gei Gei, a dusty rose shimmer with a similar frosty/metallic nature similar to Julie. This is another polish that is different from the rest of the pinks.

Again, two coats and awesome coverage.

So there you have it, folks! The Zoya Lovely Collection.

The Lovely Collection is currently available at Zoya.com for $8, as well as at your local ULTA. I really liked these shades, with the exception of Jacqueline, so I really do think they're worth buying.

What's your verdict on the collection?
