happy birthday, teach

Big M's teacher had a birthday today, so as a class, we've decided to give her something special.  I've decided to make her a big tote bag with the children's wishes and drawings for her.  Happy Birthday Ms.O .. wishing you all the best.

shy indian princess

My little one has always been quite sensitive...she does not easily blend in with her environment...and it was my fault for not asking her friends' indian costume design!  I thought they're all going to wear an Indian sari...but I was wrong! The others were wearing a simple Indian tunic!  She refused to wear the top and the skirt we've made for the sari.  It would've been much easier for me to sew the tunic...but alas, it was too late and hence, my little one was sulking on stage...refusing to move :p...I'm sorry, baby...next year I'll make it up to you :).  They were singing to the song Chamak chalo...I have no clue what it means :D

happy birthday, ma belle

Wishing you many happiness in life and may you grow up to be whatever your dream may be and know that you will always...always be our precious little princess :).

The Special Agent OSO party is finally over.  Last night, my cousin delivered the beautiful cake!!! I was pleasantly surprised with the result...thanks to her and her friends at Cookienary.  When Isabelle woke up this morning, I asked her if she likes the cake....and she said..."Why is it so cute, Mommy??".  Her sister wished her a happy birthday and when we came to her class this morning, she was all shy :).

Little misfit was so very shy...she didn't even want to blow her candles, but she was willing to cut her cake :)

The goody bags were of course done by us :D...assorted PJs with some snacks for each child.  I played around with my knk last night and made the children's names.  It was a lot of fun playing with knk :), it cuts like a pro...very clean and fast too...I love it :).

Assorted PJs and snacks for the children

The bento box was ordered from my meal box and I guess I was lucky Lukman was still able to receive my order :D.  I opted for the non fried foods for the children and they seriously looked good :).
Lil Misfit giving away her cupcakes and goody bags.

I love birthdays...though I will always complain during the preparations but seeing the smiles on my little princesses' faces make all the hard work worth while :).  Last night they helped me putting in the snacks into the plastic bag and they had such a blast doing so.  I still remember the excitement I used to feel during my childhood...the night before my birthday was always exciting and happy, and all thanks to my Mom :) and I am now oblige to give the same happy experience to my children...

li'l misfit's first day of school

my little baby started her pre school today :D...she was so very excited and not as shy as her first trial and quite brave for her very first day of school, unlike big misfit :).  I'm just happy she's happy :)

then I took some peek at big misfit's class room...it was still empty :) and she loves her teacher

while li'l misfit was waiting for her class, she wandered around the play area

and since she was the earliest at school, she was all alone in the beginning (big misfit's class starts at 10 am and li'l misfit's class starts at 10:30 am)

lia goes back to school

well, not really...it's only an intensive course in basic pattern drafting at LaSalle College Jakarta :D...something I've been wanting to do since last year...it is done every Saturday for 6 weeks, a total of 30 hourse course (5 hours each class).  I did my first skirt block (yayyyyy) and many skirt variations from a single block!  Today, we're finishing the bodice block :) I am so excited...this is all very interesting to me...not easy, but interesting (much better than engineering courses! ha!)....I was peeking at another class yesterday, and looking at these girls finishing up their design on actual garments...made me feel so envious :)  I wish I took fashion design then...they looked so cool...just like project runway hahahaha...but I don't regret my decisions in life and very happy at where I am now...doing basic pattern design :)...hopefully, I'll be able to do advanced pattern drafting :).  At least looking at pattern magic books would hopefully not be so intimidating to me anymore :)...Here's to the hope of better sewing knowledge :)

That crazy Ironing lady is my very good crafty friend, Chia...who refuses to have a blog to display her wonderful creations :) and whom I drag to join this class :)

My equipments :)...lots and lots of odd shaped rulers :p...finally I am no longer scared of using them :)

The bodice I was telling you about...it will hopefully be finished by the end of today's class

summer school

Misfit number 1 finally graduates from her pre-nursery class and she is now going to join the big children class :), where she will go alone for 3 hours everyday....so, since her next class will commence in July, we decided to put her to a summer program at another school, our friend suggested it and when I looked into it, I kinda like the place, so Emma has been going there for 3 days now :). The first day she cried for...ooo...about 1 hour at school and she refused to play with the other children! The second day she didn't cry and the third day, she refused to go in and cried but then stopped not long after. Quite happy now that misfit number 1 can go to school all by herself :).

ismile

So, I've finally enrolled Emma to school (she started in January). After going around a few pre-schools in my area, we've decided to enroll her to ismile. We like the fact that it's nearby our apartment, we love how they don't force Emma to study but learn through play and of course...we love their indoor gym with brand new play area.

a school in review: BiNus @ Serpong

Today, after putting Emma to sleep and waited for her to wake up again, we were FINALLY ready to visit BiNus new school's open day at Serpong. When we got there, the info session was already over but there were still a lot of people touring around the school. I took some pictures of the school, it's a very nice suburban school, where the air is still unspoilt and the school is nicely designed by a well known local architectural firm Hadiprana.

The pictures above were taken at the ECY/Elementary area...I'd love to play at the playground :)

This picture was taken at the ECY/Elementary gate to the basketball court, track and field.

Take a look at the library! I'm loving it :) specially with those computers.
The following pictures were taken at the middle and high school area
The Canteen is overlooking the track and field court and a picture of Emma and I in front of the library...It'll be a few more years before Emma and I get to choose a school to go to :D

For more information about the school, visit their website at http://www.binus-school.net/
