Nail art for the 4th of July tutorial

All time favorite design for this season and for this week. If you do not use the stars it could also be a great nail art for the 14 of July french independence day.
What I used:
Base is Sally Hansen's hard as nails 110 hard to get (White) 2 coats, let dry.
Then I used some curved stickers and for the blue it is Sinfulcolors professional 1100 blue by you. 2 coats.
The red is sally Hansen's Diamond strength 380 Honeymoon red. 2 coats.
I applied the star stickers on the base of the thumbs.
I peeled the stickers and applied 3 coats of top coat polish.

Are you doing something special for the 4th or 14th?

Merci

I was watching The movie "saints and soldiers" this week. Such a reminder for me of soldiers who sacrificed their lives so I can have freedom.
When the American army delivered Paris, my Grand-Pa was in jail for talking too much politics (I must have that in my blood. Very opinionated and not ashamed of it)
He had lost all his hair and teeth. My Grand-Ma and her Mom had been starving.
This memorial day let's not forget why all those man died.
Merci
Merci

Cheesecake recipe for the 4th of July

This recipe is very easy and fool proof. You can't go wrong with the Lion house cheesecake recipe. The lion house cake and cupcake book has all American recipes, perfect for the 4th of July. It is classic Utah recipes.

4th of July Lion house cheesecake with fresh strawberry filling and whipped cream on a pedestal.

Lion House Cheesecake

Makes about 12 to 14 servings
Crust:
1 1/2 cups finely crushed graham cracker crumbs
3 tablespoons sugar
6 tablespoons butter, melted

Filling:
3 (8 ounces) Packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoon lemon juice
3 eggs
3/4 teaspoon vanilla

Topping:
2 cups sour cream
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.

For crust: Thoroughly mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Press firmly onto bottom of a 10-inch pie pan or springform pan; set aside while preparing filling.

For filling: In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth; add sugar a little at a time. Add lemon juice. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Mix in vanilla and combine thoroughly. Pour into crust; fill to within 1/2 inch of top to allow room for topping. Bake 55 to 60 minutes

For topping: When cheesecake is almost finished baking. Beat sour cream with a wire whisk; add sugar and vanilla and mix well. Pour over completely baked cake and bake an additional 10 minutes.

Cool completely. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Top with desired fruit topping or serve plain.

I skipped the topping and added the fruit filling with fresh strawberries and piped whipped cream.
I keep the decorations, like little flags you find on store bought cakes and use them later.

What are your plans for the 4th of July?

Bisous
Isabelle
