A little paint goes a long way!

If you are new to my blog, i want to share a little trick i use all the time....I love to paint light fixtures...Of course the Shabby chic is of choice when getting a Thrift find...Paint it white...It is always a winner...I my case, i have something for Copper!

I find this beautiful Chandelier....and it was HUGE and Cheap....But i needed 7 Sconces to go with it in the entry room...

SO...I bought French looking sconces in SILVER..On clearance!

Then i painted them Copper with the paint from the Craft store....DECO ART

Then when dry, i brushed brown paint on a rag and rubbed it all over the sconce...

In the new house, i had a sweet surprise....In the dining room....This copper chandelier....I guess, i will not have to paint it :)

Next time you see a Chandelier...Think about what metal paint or color paint you could transform it with.....What looks good with your room...

French Master Bathroom in old house, Romantic!

Love this bathroom...I designed it...Very French and Romantic!

3 rooms that you have to remember to put your money in are...Kitchen, Master bedroom and Master bath...

This is what you see when you enter through double doors...

The fire place...glass mosaic tiles...

It goes all around the bathroom....

Vanity....Another Tiger chair...

I got those mirrors for very cheap at my grocery store...Yep!!

Like $30 dollars each!
The small vanity mirror comes from JC Penney on line...

You can find similar bowl sink at Lowes....or Home Depot...
All tiles come from Contempo.

I got this Chandelier in a little shop and could not find sconces that matched....Painted silver sconces to match  with black and Antique gold paint... NO kidding! I do that all the time!

I got the shades at the Lowes store.

There is no spout...Where is it?

The water comes from the ceiling...Kholer does that!

Walk in shower on the right...

Counters are Marble...They match the floor...Floor is the same as the rest of the house...Cobblestone...

Cabinets are off white with brown glaze...

The ceilings are Aqua Blue...

This design works on the small scale too. Colors are Aqua blue, white, brown/gold and black.

Lola's old bedroom

This bedding is from Pottery barn kids. I would recommend to buy at the end of the season on clearance or sale, because they have very expensive things. The good thing is....They have beautiful things that you are less likely to get bored to.

The bed is RC willey...Bought 9 years ago...

I like the Chandeliers...I think you can't have enough chandelier in a house. It is like puting jewelry in a room.

My Fairy is going to sleep in her own bed and share a room with Lola....I think it is time....

I do not miss the old house....It is funny! I was actually so happy when it only took me 5 minutes to clean the kitchen in the new house, rather then 30 minutes!

I also think it is funny, when people expect me to move to  something better and bigger. Sometimes smaller is better. For some reason...people think that happiness is to have better, newer and bigger...Like we are never satisfied with what we have....Why do you think that is?

A neighbor was telling me that he has cows behind his back yard. He gives them his grass clippings. They run to it....Then, when he gets another load and dumps it...They run to the new one and leave the "old" one, perfectly perfect grass. Like the new one taste better when it is just the same.

I did not move to a better, newer and bigger house. But to a smaller, older, affordable and more manageable house. I am perfectly happy. I do not measure my happiness by my possession. I like to find happiness within myself. My family makes me happy. The things i do make me happy like gardening and crafts...And blogging. LOL.
I find that measuring happiness by possession is very dangerous...
By looking at newer and better, we loose what we already have...

The pink room or baby's room in old house

The pink room was my fairy's room as a baby. It is a kid room. Love the panels but again, using molding would work great. The ceiling is pink and i enjoyed having colored ceilings in this house. It is pretty much the style i chose for the House.

Dark hard wood floors. very easy to clean with baby messes...

Got this Chandelier at JC Penney on line.

Very pretty...I was going to paint the flowers pink and leafs green in an Antique way....But never got a chance to do it.

When buying something always see what you can do to it to make it your own and unique...

Grand tour, The family room

This is last Christmas in the family room...We spent a lot of time in front of the fire...

This tile medallion is placed in the center of the house.

The fleur de lis is very French...

The tall windows are facing North. Very important in summer....Very hot and Utah and would make it unbearable to stay i this room, even with window films on them. (just something to know if building).

Wood burning fire place..I Highly recommend it...If you are out of electricity...Everyone can camp and sleep in front of the fire place....Even cook in it and play survivor. LOL

The main Bathroom is there... Zacky's tail in picture! LOL

The house we moved in is great! cute curb appeal...great big yard. The house and yard are finished and i can work with it and make it cuter.

The house is big enough so we have room for the kids but not too big ...and impossible to clean.

The paint color in the house is yellow...I have seen this color on Pottery barn before...I would like it with a little bit more pigment... I might repaint! A lot of lights would have to be changed...Cute Chandeliers everywhere of course.

The kitchen is small for the house but the cabinets are cute...Would have to change the counter tops...

A small kitchen is a design mistake..This is where everybody ends up and spend the most time.

What sells a house is the kitchen, Master bedroom and Master bath...
I met a lot of neighbors already and love it here already!
Did i mention...I am 1 block away from Roberts! HAAAAAA
