DIY Framing a picture in a frame too big and wall paint fun!

I just won this picture from http://cieloazuljewelry.blogspot.com/
I SO love it...
I buy frames when in clearance or at the thrift store... I had frames but, they were too small or too big....SO, here is my secret to make a picture look amazing...With a frame too big.

The frame and mat do not fit too big...
I took my picture to the craft store. Chose 2 sheets of paper that i thought would match my interior and look good with the picture...

See the connection, i had to cut that and make it connect...

Here with the painters tape.....to show you that i connect it...It won't show...no worry...

I taped it on the mat first...

Double side tape on picture...I placed it on top..

Closed it in frame...

PERFECT and so pretty!

Here some fun with wall paint color....to show you how the color on the walls can make a picture look so good!
I love white walls also....but i only place white on the wall if there is a design behind it...like shabby chic...

Red walls...........Valspar, Crimson in Satin finish.

Brown walls..........Valspar, Chestnut in Satin finish.

Sun flower walls...Olympic, Oakcast in Satin finish.

Green walls.....Valspar, Belle grove moss in Satin finish.

The brown in my kitchen....Olympic, Oyster Shell in Satin finish.

I chose my dining room....

Beautiful pictures and cards are available  HERE
Great jewelry also!
She has a give away going on now!

Thank you  Carol at
You are a wonderful artist.
I think a wall arrangement of Cielo paintings would look amazing...Hmmmmm
I know some of you are looking on Etsy to do just that....

Le Chateau des fleurs, breakfast nook

Oh i loved the Alice in Wonderland  party yesterday...I can't stop looking at the pictures...So glad i have a camera to capture those memories...Now....The tour continues...
Welcome to the Breakfast nook. The walls are brown like in the kitchen. Ceilings Aqua blue. The floor is the same as kitchen... Cobblestone in an Antique pattern.

I really love this white buffet...I love painted furniture.

When i lived in Southern France, we lived in a small white house with a Terracotta roof tile, like in this picture. We were on a hill facing another hill. My bedroom view was on the other hill, covered with Sunflower fields.....Oh so beautiful...France is covered with fields. We have our own agriculture and produces for the country, it includes farming too.

Yep, Zacky, you match my furniture...Looking good... LOL

I love the bench, although plan for a lot of room to move it to sit down.

I love toile. It is the theme for my kitchen and nook.

It is next to the kitchen... What you see, the green wall is the hall to the lockers if you go right. On the left  is the garage door.

This is my winter look on the buffet. Tomorrow is my spring makeover in the breakfast nook...:)

A window open to Italy with my friend Alex Bigney.

Alex Bigney lives down the street from me. He is such an amazing and interesting person.

Alex Bigney was born in Boston and raised in rural New England. He is an accomplished and gifted artist whose paintings are exhibited in distinguished collections in the United States and internationally.

While living and studying art in Italy, he developed a lifelong and profound relationship to Italian art history and culture. This passion continues to sustain and inform the particulars of his artistic life—a life that is extended to students, colleagues and friends where a substantial, relevant new vision of painting is nurtured and generously shared.

“There is a rising interest among artists today,” Alex has stated, “in reclaiming a painting foundation where discussions of the past are new and alive in the present. What is exacted from us as artists and viewers is that we wholly participate.”

I really like him. He is smart. He has a gorgeous voice. I love listening to him, he is so smart and enriched with travel, knowledge and experience. there is something special about him that  make me like him and he is a super nice person...I love Italy too and have been there.

He is a wonderful author. He wrote Talking to Tesla. Here is some parts of the book i really like, although there are so many:

“Love is resonance, an effect of the coincidence of frequencies, a marriage of patterns,” stated Tesla, “making their combined influence greater than the sum of their individual effects...Love attracts like a magnet, joining those who love in oneness, as a melodic progression attracts harmonious notes...." p 238, TTT ...

So I keep looking back, picking through the clutter of my life for clues, hoping to stumble upon something that suggests a beginning to this story—my childhood and youth, life as a painter, my travels in Italy; all motifs in the complex pattern that led me here. p i, TTT

Most travelers know; you don’t arrive at one destination by focusing on another. It’s another open secret—that you always end up exactly where you’re headed. p 338, TTT

“You have already learned that order is born from disorder through awareness, but you are only now beginning to believe that perhaps you can actually participate in bringing things into being that were beyond your awareness—which power is called faith.” p 393, TTT

...I have started lowering the volume on things, turning off the radio in the car and letting the house stay silent when I’m alone. I’ve stopped looking at things I don’t intend to see, stopped responding to what isn’t important. I’m trying to listen more, to pay attention to what was there before my life filled up with so much junk. p 88, TTT

He is amazing...

Here is my favorite painting by Alex Bigney.
