Glam Polish Mid-Winters Dream Collection - Swatches & Review

Monday, December 01, 2014
Hello everyone!

I have another gorgeous Glam Polish collection to share with you all today.  This is the Mid-Winters Dream Collection, and it's full of the most beautiful icy pastels, with lots of holo glitter and silver glass flecks.  I know for Australians they get to have Summer while we have an awful Winter here in Canada, so it definitely compliments both seasons.  That's very unique from all the other Holiday Collections that come out this time of year, I would say, and I love it.

Polished by KPT The Paris & Me Collection - Swatches & Review

Sunday, November 02, 2014
Hello everyone!

I've got swatches of an insanely gorgeous new Fall collection to share with you all today.  It’s The Paris & Me Collection from Polished by KPT.  The collection consists of nine stunning Fall shades, four thermals, two holographics, one shimmery creme, and two mindblowing glitters.

Polished by KPT The Paris & Me Collection

Same Fall Different Beginning is a thermal that is a deep plum in it’s cold state and transitions to a warm cranberry red, then to a nearly clear base in it’s warm state.  It’s absolutely packed with gold flakes of all different sizes and they just appear to be floating in the gorgeous jelly base.  If that wasn’t enough, there’s also holographic micro glitter that shines through as well.  I am wearing two coats in the photos, with top coat.

Belle Ami is a holographic thermal that is a deep burgundy-brown in it’s cold state, and transitions to a cool charcoal grey in it’s warm state.  Such a nice, flattering fall shade, and the holographic effect is just enough that it doesn't outdo the color transitions.  I'm wearing two coats plus top coat in the photos.

Fall-O-You is a holographic thermal that is olive green in it’s cold state, and transitions to a warm grey with micro green shimmer in it’s warm state.  This is the most perfect shade of olive (which I absolutely love), and again the holographic effect is not very strong, but just enough that it doesn't overshadow the beautiful transition to grey.  I'm wearing two coats plus top coat in the photos.
Polished by KPT Fall-O-You

IMG_4878-

Midnight Lust is a thermal that is a vivid blue (with a purple undertone) in it’s cold state, and transitions to an opal shade in it’s warm state.  This has the most beautiful purple, blue, and green shimmer that radiates through the base and gives each transition a different appearance.  So lovely!  I’m wearing two coats plus top coat in the photos.

Rouge-Lette In Love is a vibrant red holo that leans slightly coral / orange.  It is extremely bright and has a strong holographic effect, as well as some gorgeous blue and purple micro shimmer.  The shimmer just glows in person and is very noticeable, you can really see it in the bottle shown below.  I'm wearing two coats without top coat for the photos.

IMG_4628-

Triomphe-nt Night is a gold holo glitter that can be used as a topper or worn alone.  It's got a really nice gold jelly base, and it's packed with gold holographic micro glitter as well as a hint of green and purple micro shimmer.  The base makes it really easy to wear on it's own, so I've shown it with three thin coats plus top coat.
IMG_4650-

Cloudy Days Go Away is a beautiful light grey creme filled with blue and green micro shimmer.  The base is the perfect shade of grey, and the shimmer is so unique, it almost looks like a bright turquoise then as you shift your hand you see the bright blue.  It had a perfect formula, opaque in two coats.
IMG_4448-

Lady Roxane is an ultramarine purple holo that leans slightly pink.  It has a strong holographic effect and is so bright and pretty.  The finish is slightly metallic, so it looks very shiny when dry, which I love as well.  I'm wearing two coats without top coat in the photo below.
IMG_4602-

Lumières is an insanely majestic glitter, so I had to save it for last.  It’s base is made up of uniquely cut silver holographic flake glitter as well as purple micro shimmer that shifts pink.  It is so incredibly beautiful in every lighting situation as I’ve shown below, but really, when the light hits this one it’s pretty mindblowing.  You can wear Lumières as a topper over any base color, but it builds up really well on it’s own.  I’m wearing three thin coats in the photos, plus top coat.

The Paris & Me Collection by Polished by KPT will be restocked on November 8th, so mark your calendars if you'd like to have these gorgeous polishes on your nails!  Each polish retails for $12.

The whole collection is a must have, but my favorites are of course Lumières, Midnight Lust, Same Fall Different Beginning, and Rouge-Lette In Love!

You can also follow Polished by KPT for more details & swatches here:

I hope you all enjoyed the swatches as much as I enjoyed wearing them!
Thank you for reading! :)

Glam Polish Cast a Spell Part II: The Magic Is Back! Collection - Swatches & Review

Wednesday, September 17, 2014

Hello everyone!

I know I've totally stopped posting about the 31 Day Challenge here on the blog, but if you would like to catch up on all of those posts, you can view them on my Instagram or Facebook pages (if you haven't already seen them).

For today, I've got part of an amazing new fall collection (Cast a Spell Part II: The Magic Is Back!) by Glam Polish to show you all.  The collection consists of nine magical holographic glitter polishes (seriously, they are magical), and I've got five of them to show you.  They all dry to a slightly textured finish because of the amount of glitter in them, but I highly recommend applying a good glossy top coat because the holographic glitter really comes to life.  Each one has a fantastic formula, and the colors are just stunning.

Untitled

Banished, is a crimson red holographic polish packed with bright red holographic glitter.  I love this kind of deep red, especially for fall, and the bright red glitter really glows from the base.  The combination is perfect together.  I'm wearing two coats in the photos.

Cauldron, is a teal holographic polish, packed with teal holographic glitter.  It leans a bit more green in person than my camera captured.  The holographic glitter looks like it's floating in the base, and the holographic effect is strong.  It's just so pretty.  I'm wearing two coats in the photos.

Pentacle, is a charcoal holographic polish, packed with some crazy holographic glitter.  This is the sparkliest one of the five I was sent, and definitely my favorite.  I don't know if any camera could do this one justice, since it's totally insane in person!  I'm wearing two coats in the photos.

IMG_2163-1

Sorceress, is a berry pink holographic polish, packed with bright pink holographic glitter.  This one looks much brighter in the sun when the holographic effect is the strongest.  It's slightly more of a jelly than the others, but also has a perfect formula.  I'm wearing two coats in the photos.

IMG_2287-1

Wicca, is a deep purple holographic polish, packed with purple holographic glitter.  This is another favorite for me.  It's the most gorgeous shade of purple, and the purple holographic glitter is so beautiful.  It had the best formula out of them all too, I would say.  I'm wearing two coats in the photos.

PolisHaus (Danger, Killer, & Sinner) Swatches + St. Patrick’s Day Nail Art

Sunday, March 16, 2014
Hello everyone!

I have a few more PolisHaus polishes to show you all today.  I posted swatches of a bunch of other PolisHaus polishes recently, so if you missed my last post, you can view it here.

Check out the new holographic labels on the bottles!  Cool, right?

Untitled

Danger is a blue toned purple jelly with blue / pink shimmer, as well as small holographic glitter.  It was very easy to apply, and it dried to a satin-matte finish.  I am wearing two coats plus top coat in the photos below.

IMG_5837-2

Sinner is a vibrant blue jelly packed with holographic glitter.  It dries quite matte with almost a textured look, so it definitely needs a few layers of top coat or one thick coat for a glossy finish.  With top coat, the glitter just glows, and it’s really pretty.  I am wearing two coats plus top coat in the photos below.

Killer is a deep teal-green base, with green and holographic glitter, and blue shimmer.  It has the glossy, squishy appearance of a jelly, but it was completely opaque in one coat.  It’s just stunning in person.  In certain lighting it looks almost black, but you can definitely still tell it’s green, especially with the green glitter glowing from within.  I am wearing one coat plus top coat in the photos below.

I ended up adding some subtle St. Patricks Day nail art on top of Killer as well.  I used Color Club Kismet for the holographic clovers, and CND Brilliant White for the tiny white ones.  I really like how simple and cute they are.

Killer is available now at the PolisHaus shop, but I am unsure whether Sinner and Danger will be available.  I’ll update this post when I find out, though!

Thank you for reading! :)

PolisHaus Swatches & Review

Monday, February 17, 2014
Hello everyone!

I had the pleasure of swatching five beautiful PolisHaus polishes recently, but I’ve been away all week without wifi, so I finally found time to post them!

Untitled

IMG_1850-1

Mine is a peachy pink creme.  It dried slightly dull so it definitely needed top coat, but the formula was really great.  I’m wearing two coats plus top coat in the photo below.

IMG_2374-1

Frankie is a light, but very bright green creme.  This one is borderline neon, but still has a pastel feel to it.  It’s so much prettier in person, and just like the previous creme it was perfect in two coats.  I was surprised Frankie actually dried shiny, but I still added top coat for the photo below.

IMG_2489-1

Farewell is a shimmery grey creme, with rainbow colored glitter and holographic shimmer.  There is a really pretty silver sheen in the base that makes this polish interesting.  There’s also a few large pieces of circle glitter, but I didn’t manage to get any on the nail.   I used two coats plus top coat for the photo below.

IMG_2437-1

Argentine is a medium grey jelly, with silver holographic glitter, and different sizes of raspberry pink, orange, and black glitter.  It also has a really beautiful holographic shimmer in the base.  I really love this one; it’s so unique, and the color combination is lovely.  I used two coats plus top coat for the photo below.

IMG_2404-1

Moon Sand is a stunning polish, loaded with holographic shimmer, and blue & pink holographic glitter.  I can’t even explain how awesome this one is.  It looks amazing layered over different colors, but it’s dense enough to wear by itself in two or three coats.  In the photos below, I’ve shown it over black, pink as well as alone.

Moon Sand and Frankie, along with a collection of new PolisHaus polishes will be available March 7th at 6 pm PST on the PolisHaus bigcartel shop.  The formulas of the ones I've tried were really lovely, so be sure to check them out!

Thank you for reading!
