Rusty Art - for Finnabair Creative Team

Hello friends!

This is my new artwork for Finnabair Creative Team. I have for you the project with a product that I have been discovering again - Rust Effect Pastes. As soon as they appeared on sale, I liked them very much. However, in the plethora of new products and artworks, I put them somewhere on the shelf and they rarely visited my desk. Now it’s come back and I can not live without them! My discovery is that they fits very well to metallic papers, that glisten too much for me. But when we use a little bit of pastes, papers become a perfect background for rusty projects. Here, I additionally used the embossing folder and aged the background with sandpaper.

All my composition is resin and metal elements covered with black gesso. Thanks to gesso, all media like pastes, paints, etc. stick better. I used also a papers, only to "soften" this industrial look. I think everything is perfectly balanced. After placing all the elements in their places, I reached for rust again. I applied it in several places and at the end I used the Opal Magic paints. They added shine to my artwork, the effect of light patina, beautiful contrast.

I made a video for you, where you can see step by step how the project was created. Remember the quote from my project - „Less perfection more authenticity”! This will help you focus on the fun and creation. Enjoy!

Hopes and Desires - Finnabair Art Recipe - April 2019

Hello,
today I have a project for Finnabair Team new challenge!
Please join us and be the next guest designer.

Colours of March Art Recipe:
cobalt, emerald, silver

Products:
Art Basics - White Gesso
Art Basics - Soft Gloss Gel
Art Alchemy - Waxes
Art Ingredients - Glitter
Art Alchemy - Liquid Acrylics

For this month Art Recip,e I've made this bright tag. It does not have many embellishments. The most important thing for me here is the background on which I glued several resin stars from the moulds. I painted the whole with white gesso and then I added color with liquid acrylic paints. During painting, I used a lot of water. I sprayed the paints to achieve the watercolor effect.

When the paint dried, I used gesso again to accentuate all the edges and details. Finally, it's time for glitter. I glued it with a soft gel and left it to dry thoroughly. I wanted to hide the glitter a little bit using white gesso, so that its glow gently pierced through the white layer. Thanks to this, it better suits the entire project.

I hope you feel inspired and try to make something for our challenge!

Just create! - Finnabair Creative Team

Hello friends!

I made this project just for fun. When I cleaned up, I found a cardboard frame with cogs and decided to use it somehow. I wanted to calm down and turn off after Christmas madness, and spend a moment alone with myself in my studio. This is the best relaxation for me.

As you will see on the video, I have protected the cardboard base with Impasto paints, not with white gesso as usual. Acrylic paints are ideal if you don't want the background to be just white.

I also played with structures, using one of the rust effect paste. I really like this delicate, grainy effect. To make it more visible, I emphasized it with light paint and gesso. I also added some color to my project using sprays and alcohol inks. Each of them reacts differently, even on the same surface, and I like such unexpected results.

As for the embellishments, one of the main decorations is a large metal star. It was supposed to be part of a Christmas artwork, but unfortunately, it did not wait. However, I think that in such a project it worked perfectly well. I also used several metals from the extensive Mechanicals collection and one of my favorite recently - Art Daily lines. You will find there photos and sentences that you can always and everywhere adjust. I love it for that!

Please feel free to inspire with my video tutorial.
