Time... - for A.B.studio

Hej!
Dzisiaj mam dla Was pracę z najnowszej kolekcji AB studio - "Behind closed doors".

Hello!
Today I have for you an artwork from the latest AB studio collection - "Behind closed doors". I got papers yesterday and I could not resist to make something with them very quickly. This collection has a great, vintage character, lots of interesting, mysterious elements, beautiful tags and clocks to cut.

I made the composition on a painting board, enriching the background with beautiful chipboards, also from AB studio. Such large elements are one of my favorites. They are very decorative in themselves, they perfectly enrich the background of the project, you don't need to make a lot to match them to each project. I used Liquid Acrylics paints here, which have very intense colors and are permanent. However, cardboard is such a grateful product that you can paint it with everything you choose.

Just create! - Finnabair Creative Team

Hello friends!

I made this project just for fun. When I cleaned up, I found a cardboard frame with cogs and decided to use it somehow. I wanted to calm down and turn off after Christmas madness, and spend a moment alone with myself in my studio. This is the best relaxation for me.

As you will see on the video, I have protected the cardboard base with Impasto paints, not with white gesso as usual. Acrylic paints are ideal if you don't want the background to be just white.

I also played with structures, using one of the rust effect paste. I really like this delicate, grainy effect. To make it more visible, I emphasized it with light paint and gesso. I also added some color to my project using sprays and alcohol inks. Each of them reacts differently, even on the same surface, and I like such unexpected results.

As for the embellishments, one of the main decorations is a large metal star. It was supposed to be part of a Christmas artwork, but unfortunately, it did not wait. However, I think that in such a project it worked perfectly well. I also used several metals from the extensive Mechanicals collection and one of my favorite recently - Art Daily lines. You will find there photos and sentences that you can always and everywhere adjust. I love it for that!

Please feel free to inspire with my video tutorial.

Secret Garden - Prima & Finnabair May's Art Recipe

Hello!
It's June now, but I have for you one more May project.
This is mixed media canvas I made for Prima & Finnabair May's Art Recipe.

Our theme this month was "Secret Garden" and we used Art Alchemy Impasto Paints, Art Alchemy Waxes and Stencils.

For our Secret Garden theme I decided to make a canvas with a magical door playing the main role. Just imagine the mysterious garden that could be hiding behind it... I used a stencil with Modeling Paste to create the background and Art Alchemy Impasto paints for the colors. I really love it that these paints are completely permanent when they dry which allows me to later on safely add other media on top of them and not ruin the whole effect.

I created my garden making a composition of flowers, twigs, and resin shapes. I painted all these elements with Impasto paints, only this time I watered them down a little, which made them behave like watercolors to create more subtle color effects.

The main element of this project is the door. To give it this old character, make it look vintage and time-worn, I used Rust Effect Pastes and then emphasized certain elements with my favorite (and so versatile!) Art Alchemy Metallique Wax in White Gold. I love how the layers of these pastes helped me add more mystery to the look of the door. Welcome to my Secret Garden!

Cabinet of Curiosities - Finnabair Creative Team

Hello,
sometimes someone asks me why I make this type of artworks - without any specific purpose and not useful for anything practical. Have you ever been asked that too? :)
Why? Well, I must admit that for me it's a strange question. Art doesn't have to be useful or practical! We create to express ourselves artistically, to get our hands dirty, to play with new paints and products, or to simply have fun.And that's why this project was created.

I made my own cabinet of curiosities with a selection of my favorite elements, symbols and little trinkets. For me, each of them is meaningful in some way. There is a feather here, a star, and a seahorse - a piece of the sea world that I love so much. I also had to add my favorite embellishments that add so much character to my artworks - all sizes of Art Stones, mysterious little bottles and simple white string.

In this piece I also included my favorite colors and textures.
I've recently rediscovered the beauty of Art Extravagance Graphite Paste and now you can find it in almost each of my projects. :) It doesn't really matter that it's black because once it's dry, you can easily give it any color you like and still enjoy the textural effect. I used it through the 'Bubbles' stencil.

I painted my main embellishments with the gold rust from Rust Effect Paste set. This is my favorite shade of yellow and it worked perfectly in this project. Doesn't it beautifully contrast with Art Alchemy Metallique Emerald Green?!
I also added some Art Alchemy Waxes here and there. I used the Vintage Gold one which beautifully highlighted the details and gave this frame a more noble character.

This project is filled with all kinds of my must-haves.
There are products that I always have at hand and without them my project somehow seem incomplete :) I definitely need to have Heavy White Gesso, Art Stones, gauze and white ink or paint for accents and splatters. They add this final little "something" so that I can feel the project is finished.

I made a video especially for you so if you'd like to create your own "Cabinet of curiosities", you can see my process and feel inspired.

With my project today I'd like to remind you that whatever you create and why, remember that first of all, you create for yourself. Experiment, don't be afraid of new things, listen to your own voice, don't think, just act! Don't think from the beginning about how your project will be judged. Just have fun and love what you create!
