I made the Chocolate Chewies today and they are OMG good. I was really afraid the would be goopy but nope perfectly nice, very chewy oh so chocolaty goodness. The batch made up 4 dozen using a teaspoon to lay them out. I have added before and after photos to illustrate.

I did make a change in the sugar substitute to reduce a few calories. I used 1 cup baking splenda and 1.5 cup confectioners sugar. I onlly had 1/2 cup of walnuts and used those then made up the rest with chopped almonds.

I was looking for the perfect thing to do with those egg whites that I had saved from making mayonnaise and this is the PERFECT thing to do. Thank you so much for sharing.

  • lilliancooks 14 years ago about Onion Pan Bread
I thought this was perfect! I made it exactly as written, using cheddar cheese and bacon. I love the caramelized onions and the light, fluffy bread! Not to mention that its a very easy bread! In 1 hour you have a delicious side dish or appetizer! I had no problem with the bread browning, as you can see in my photo. I will use this recipe often!

P.S. I didn't use a cast iron skillet. I used an oven safe non stick skillet.

Thank you for commenting on the Apple Cranberry Chutney recipe. I have substituted the whole cranberry sauce with whole cranberries and I keep the jellied cranberry sauce as is. Quite honestly, I do prefer the jellied and whole berry sauces together. Thanks again for taking the time to comment.

Cavenders is a Greek seasoning. It used to be hard to find but now most Grocery stores carry it. I use it a lot because it goes well with just about everything.

Yeah! I am so happy you made the fried garlic. They are awesome on just about anything! I like to put them in my chicken curry! They add so much to that dish! Let me know what other uses you find for them! I would be interested to see that. Thanks again, deb
