How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Spread pie filling in bottom of a 8 or 9 inch square pan. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Combine dry cake mix, nuts and butter. Sprinkle over pie filling. Bake for 40-50 minutes until golden brown. Serve with ice cream.

    This is my absolute favorite I have this same Recipe stored somewhere. I made it for my daughters wedding. Hadn't had this in awhile cannot wait to make again. Thank you very much for reminding me.

    Hello Mamajune-I made your cherry crunch this afternoon-it was fantastic!!! My family loved it...in fact,my daughter was eating the cake/butter/nut mixture right out of the mixing bowl-I couldnt keep her away from it.Hubby had 3 pieces.Tastes great,just wanted to let you know.

    This recipe has always been one of my favorites. I must say though, I've never added the lemon juice.

    Thanks for posting, I think I'll make it for guests this weekend. We are going to a friend's dairy and "real" ice cream will be made that day this will go well with it.
