How to make it

  • Combine first 4 ingredients in large saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer.
  • Add chopped broccoli, cover and cook for 20 minutes, until vegetables are tender.
  • Combine soup and milk and add to saucepan. Add cheddar cheese and warm until melted.
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper and add oleo.

    This is not vegetarian because there is chicken broth in it, there for no longer making it a vegetarian recipe. Please do not tag stuff as vegetarian if it isn't.

    Just delicious....doubled the recipe and left out the oleo. I also pureed the soup, but made sure to leave many chunks of the veggies for texture. Thanks NE!!

    This is wonderful! I made it for lunch today and even the picky kids liked it. I had yet to find a cream of broccoli soup that I would make again but this one will be a new go to recipe for me. Thanks Negirl. I will post a photo later.
