How to make it

  • In skillet, brown ground beef, then drain
  • Add spaghetti sauce, mushrooms, salad dressing and water
  • Bring to boil
  • Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally
  • Dumplings
  • In mixing bowl, blend flour baking powder and salt
  • In another mixing bowl, combine spinach, cheese, oil, egg, and milk and mix well
  • Add to dry ingredients and stir until just combined, adding more milk if needed to form soft dough
  • Drop dough by tbls. onto stew
  • Cover tightly and simmer until dumplings are fluffy, about 12-14 minutes

    I like this idea for dumplings. Any idea how they would be with less liquid, baked as bisquits?
