TWICE BAKED POTATOES
From bestcooker 16 years agoIngredients
- 7 cups mashed potatoes (see note) shopping list
- one 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened shopping list
- one 8 ounce container sour cream shopping list
- garlic powder, to taste shopping list
- onion powder, to taste shopping list
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, beat together potatoes, cream cheese, and sour cream. Add garlic powder and onion powder and mix well. Place mixture in a glass 13X9 baking dish (or baking dish of similar size). Drizzle melted butter over top. Bake, uncovered, 45-60 mins. Serve hot.
- Note: I was stunned when my neighbor served these for the first time and I found out she had made them with instant mashed potatoes. No one in our family likes instant mashed potatoes because of their funny artificial flavor, but these didn’t taste like instant at all! We prefer "real" potatoes, so that is what I use. Recipe is easily halved.
