Chocolate Cake in a MUG Recipe

Ingredients

How to make it

  • In a microwave safe MUG:
  • Add dry ingredients to mug, mix well with a fork.
  • Add egg, mix thoroughly.
  • Pour in milk and oil and vanilla, mix well.
  • Add chips, if using.
  • Put mug in microwave, and cook for three minutes on 1000 watts.
  • Cake will rise over top of mug--do not be alarmed!
  • Allow to cool a little; tip onto a plate if desired.

    I experimented and used pancake mix (extra light and fluffy) in place of the cake flour. WOW! The cake comes out so moist and fluffy, even from a microwave. I'm going to make this cake often! :-)

    I yes thank you, I never thought of baking a cake in the Mug that is like making rice in the satellite dish lol. But it works I baked mine in <a href="http://tob-195convectiontoasteroven.com" >cuisinart tob-195</a> toaster oven, and it turned out perfect.

    I have added a heaping tsp. of peanut butter with the choc. chips it is good. I still use a whole egg and it works fine for us. Ice cream is yummy....whip cream I haven't had a bad experiment yet. :)

    Let me tell you...this is heaven for all of us pregos!!!! I did what twilightdawning suggested and beat an egg and only used about 1 tbs. of it. I also made some whipped cream to go with it and I was in heaven!!! This would be good with a scoop of ice cream too!!! Can't wait to make again! My IMI link ---------> Chocolate Cake In A Mug

    perfect for us seniors who live alone!

    make this and then we are not stuck with a huge cake and have to eat the whole thing by ourselves and gain weight...not to mention the cholesterol...

    I found this recipe on the 'Reviews' page and I made it last night for my teen daughter! It worked great! I used a 10 oz. mug. I didn't have cake flour so I used regular flour. I didn't have cocoa powder so I used 1/2 a packet of hot cocoa mix w/mini marshmellows. I also took Twilightdawnings advice below...and used all of her alterations. This was very good! It came out like a light chocolate cake because I didn't use the cocoa powder...as you can see in my photo, but it tasted very good! I can't wait to try this again! This is a really cool recipe!

    I tried this again this weekend. Made one for my hubby and one for myself except after beating the egg, I divided it evenly between the two cakes. (I used medicine cups to make sure it was equal amounts). It was much better and less eggy in my opinion. Very chocolaty w/ a nice texture. I'll definitly be making it again! :)

    My son and I made this today for an after school treat. He chose butterscotch chips. We both thought it was very good. He gave it 5 forks...I gave it 4 due to it's eggy taxture. I'm thinking of dividing the egg between 2 of these and it should be just right. :)

    Just made this recipe again, using all the correct ingredients. It tastes even better! The only thing is the chocolate chips all sank to the bottom, so I have a puddle of chocolate ooze at the bottom of the mug. I'm not saying that's a BAD thing...just not what was expected. Still...super YUMMMMM!!!!

    I made this for a surprise breakfast for my daughter's 9th birthday today. It turned out really good, even though I had to substitute a couple of things because I didn't have any milk or oil. I can't wait to make it as per the directions. I'm sure it will be perfect! Thanks again for a GREAT recipe!!

    DD made this last night for her brother, herself and her dad. We used splenda sweetner instead. It was quite the tasty treat! Unfortunatly we forgot to "spray" the mugs ahead of time and had to soak them overnight! LOL! That's ok...the family really enjoyed this treat!

    Since I don't have a microwave, I used my toaster oven to make these delightful little yummies! I added a pinch of baking soda and salt to the batter and baked it in two 6-1/2 oz. oven-proof coffee cups for 25 minutes. They were a little hard to get out of the cups and I had to run the thin edge of knife around the edges while they were still warm to get them to pop out. I can see making these as a novelty dessert for company and topping them with ice cream, whipped cream, or whatever else takes your fancy. Thanks for sharing McBoo!
