    Sorry for getting back so late...Of course you can, just cut down on the vinegar.

    Not sure I want a fiery chutney - maybe just hot. I was given a bushel of yellow plums and this is the only chutney recipe I could find for them. Could I substitute Tabasco sauce for the Habenero sauce?

  • 2 sweet onions like walla walla or vidalia, diced
  • 2 pounds of plums, pitted
  • 1/4 c apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c balsamic vinegar
  • dash smoked habenero hot sauce
  • 1/4 t curry
  • dash cinnamon
  • To sweeten, I used sucanat (unfiltered cane juice) but you can use a few tbs of brown sugar.
  • salt to taste
