Italian Rice and Beans

- 2 cans white beans, drained and rinsed. shopping list
- 3 tablespoons onion shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon minced garlic shopping list
- 3 tablespoon olive oil shopping list
- 2 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 1 cup canned tomatoes shopping list
- 2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoons sugar shopping list
- 1teaspoon sage leaves shopping list
- 2 cups long grain rice shopping list
- 4 cups beef broth shopping list
- 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese shopping list
How to make it
- Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in 4 quart saucepan. Add 2 tablespoons of Olive Oil and saute onions and garlic until slightly brown. Add beans, tomatoes, salt, sugar, sage leaves and broth. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add Rice and cook for 30 minutes or until broth is absorbed and rice is done.
- Add remaining butter, oil and cheese.
- Serve hot.
