Italian pot roast sandwiches

- 4 LB chuck roast shopping list
- 2 cups beef stock shopping list
- 1 carrot chopped shopping list
- 1 small onion chopped shopping list
- 1 rib celery chopped shopping list
- 4 sub buns shopping list
- 8 slice provoloni cheese shopping list
- 20 slices pepperoni shopping list
- 3 tbs olive oil shopping list
- 1 tsp garlic powder shopping list
- 1 tsp onion powder shopping list
- 2 tsp basil shopping list
- 2 tsp oregano shopping list
- 1 tsp black pepper shopping list
- 1/2 tsp fennel seeds shopping list
- 1 TBS balsamic vinegar shopping list
How to make it
- combine all spices and coat both sides of the roast. Heat oil in a lg soup pan that can fit in the oven. Brown both sides of roast on top of stove. Add the carrot,onion,celery and stock and place in oven at 350 degrees for about an hour. Then add the balsamic and pepperoni and continue to bake for another half hour or more until tender. Strain out the juice from the pan through a fine colander and reserve as Au jus. Break pieces of beef apart with a fork and layer on the buns, add cheese and serve.
