How to make it

  • Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add flour; cook, stirring, 1 minute.
  • Whisk in milk, salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  • Bring to a boil, whisking; reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
  • Add Parmesan cheese (I actually added a cup instead of 3/4 c)
  • Pour over fettuccine and enjoy!

    My husband loves fettuccine alfredo - can't wait to try this recipe! I think it would be great over whole wheat pasta.
