How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Butter a 9-inch square baking pan.
  • Using an electric mixer, beat sugar and eggs in large bowl until slightly thickened, about 2 minutes.
  • Bean in melted butter and almond extract.
  • Add flour and stir until well blended.
  • Stir in cranberries and pecans or almonds.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake until tester inserted into center comes out clean, about 1 hour.
  • Transfer to rack and cool completely.
  • Cut into squares and serve.
  • Enjoy! :)

    Mmmmmmmm... I have some Nova Scotia cranberries, in the freezer waiting for just the right recipe, and this sounds like the one! Cranberries are right up there with anything lemon or rhubarb. Guess I like things tangy/tart. Thank you for the post.

    Okay, I just saw this picture on your food page and fell in love. Wow. Love. I must try these. I deserve them. ;) They're beautiful and I love the cranberries, nuts and almond extract.

  • 1 1/2 c. AP flour
