How to make it

  • Cook beans in salted water until tender but not soft.
  • Melt lard or butter then add onions and sauté until limp then add chopped dill.
  • Add flour making a roux.
  • Add 1 cup of water, sugar and vinegar then stir while sauce gets thick.
  • Add drained beans and mix well.
  • If too thick add additional water.
