- 3lb topside steak shopping list
- 2tbsp oil shopping list
- 1tsp sugar shopping list
- 1lb mushrooms shopping list
- 2tblsp flour shopping list
- 2,3 cups water shopping list
- 2 beef stock cubes shopping list
- 1tsp salt shopping list
- 1tblsp butter shopping list
- 12 medium onions sliced shopping list
- 1glove garlic crushed shopping list
- 2 rashers bacon chopped shopping list
- 1 cup red wine shopping list
- 1 bay leaf shopping list
- pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Trim and cut meat into cubes.Brown about a 1/4 at a time in butter and oil.
- Place in heavy fry pan or casserole
- Brown onions in remaining fat. Add sugar,garlic mushrooms and bacon.
- Cook slowly until tender. Remove and set aside. Stir flour into pan.Return pan to heat and brow flour.Gradually add wine,stir well until sauce thickens
- Place sauce,water,stock cubes and bay leaf in a pan with meat bake in oven at 150 c.
- Cook for about 2 hrs then add onions,mushrooms and bacon and cook for 20,30 mins
- Add an extra cup of water during cooking if needed.add seasoning and thicken if needed
- Serve with tossed green salad and boiled rice
