How to make it

  • Cook beans in water. Season with salt and bacon drippings, ham or other seasoning meat. Cook for 1 1/2 - 2 hrs. Add onion, garlic, celery and bay leaf. Continue to cook over low heat of 1/2 - 1 hr. If beans become too dry, add heated water. Serve on mounds of rice.
