Ingredients

How to make it

  • In small glass bowl, beat eggs with half and half, onion, hot sauce, and salt and pepper. Let rest a few minutes.
  • Combine all sauce ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.
  • Set aside.
  • Meanwhile, slice loaf of bread in half, horizontally.
  • Turn bottom half of bread loaf over and place on lightly greased or buttered cookie sheet(with a shallow lip), or similar pan.
  • Brush egg mixture liberally over non cut side of the bread.
  • Turn over so cut side is up.
  • Layer on cheese, ham and turkey, beginning, and ending, with a layer of cheese.
  • Place top half of loaf onto the layered meat/cheese and liberally brush top crust with egg wash, too. Do this several times to make sure the egg soaks in a bit.
  • Bake at 425 for about 7-10 minutes, then carefully flip entire loaf and return to oven until lightly browned and cheese is all melty. This will take another 5-10 minutes.
  • Carefully slice into 4ths(or more, if you want to serve as an appetizer... you can slice the loaf into 6ths, then the 6ths in half! :)
  • Serve with the sauce for dipping, or it's even better spread along the inside of the sandwich between the meats!
