Twisted Chicken

- Six boneless chichen breasts shopping list
- can of bread crumbs (reg or italian) your choice shopping list
- i cup of all purpose flour shopping list
- i half pound of bacon (thin sliced) shopping list
- one 12oz block of provolone cheese shopping list
- small chunk of locatelli romano cheese shopping list
- 1 can of tomato puree shopping list
- fresh minced garlic- 2 cloves shopping list
- 1 can of stewed tomatos shopping list
- i small can of tomato paste shopping list
- i cup of milk shopping list
- oregano basil parsley salt and pepper shopping list
- your favorite frying oil shopping list
How to make it
- Clean the chicken and butterfly the breast
- pound with a mallet lightly
- cut the cheese into 6- 2oz bars
- dip the chicken breast into the milk
- dredge in the flour
- repeat again but this time in the bread crumbs
- put the cheese into the pocket of the butterflied chicken
- close tightly
- wrap the bacon slices around the entire chicken breast
- leave about a half inch of space between the bacon spirals
- so it looks like a candy cane
- pin the ends of the bacon with toothpicks
- deep fry in your favorite oil- i use canola
- just deep enough to cover the breast
- cook until it starts turning golden brown (about five minutes or so)
- dont worry about the chicken being fully cooked
- if you see cheese coming out remove faster.
- remove breast and toothpicks (they will stay together now without them)
- now in a large casserole baking dish combine all three cans of tomatos
- season slightly with italian spices and add garlic
- slowly add in the chicken breast
- the sauce shouldnt be more than half way up the chicken
- sprinkle the dish with fresh romano cheese and parsley
- bake at about 275-285 degrees for up to 60 minutes (covered)
- five minutes un-covered to bring out more flavor in the cheese
- check chicken for doneness-
- serve with an italian veg- i like italian green beans
- take a bow and enjoy the ticker tape parade!,,
