Digital Out

Digital Out is a software and videogame design studio. The software development group was founded in August 2005 as a company for outsourced programming tasks. In June 2006 Digital Out teamed up with an investor based in Denmark and Digital Out A/S was formed. Graphics and design was added to the list of provided services when Digital Out A/S merged with Skjoldbroder in February 2007.

As a good portion of the people behind Digital Out A/S has a solid background in the games industry, it was decided in April 2007 to create a games division. The company registered with Sony and Nintendo as a developer for handheld devices and started searching for available work-for-hire projects to take on. While searching and negotiating, an internal game idea came to life and in November 2007 Digital Out A/S was awarded a grant of 500.000 DKK by Nordic Game Program for building a demo of the concept for the downloadable console initiatives called Asteroid Cowboys.
