Merci Paris

Hi everyone,

Are you surviving all the holiday madness?  One of the things Santa left under the tree for me were some new Spellbinders die cuts.  I just couldn't wait to open them!

I stamped some French images on a Labels Twenty-Eight #3 and sponged the background in Brilliance Pearlescent Beige & Bordering Blue.  On a Labels Twenty-Eight #4 I stamped Parlor Prints in Brilliance Pearlescent Beige then layered everything onto a Decorative Labels Twenty-Eight #3 cut from Bordering Blue paper.

Merci was stamped in StazOn Stone Gray and glued to the back of a pewter tag.  I don't think I can create a card anymore without making a triple loop bow from seam binding ... lol  Opaline pearls in sky accent the edges and a flat back pearl graces the center of the bow -  so Parisian!

The background paper on this card is from Cameo Shoppe on Etsy.  She has a cute shop with digital images.  This one is called Shabby French Ephemera.

The inside sentiment was stamped in Stazon Stone Gray.  A few flowers were colored with Spica glitter pens.  Flourishes from SU's Everything Eleanor set were stamped in Bordering Blue.

I have a few more thank you cards to create and then it's onto Valentine's Day.  Oh my, where does the time go?

Pyramid Gift Boxes

Hi blogging friends,

I've really been in a creative mood lately  :-)

Recently, I came across a template for pyramid favor boxes.  I fell in love with the Paris design and made a few of them to give away.

Ribbon and roses were added to the top.  Glitter was added to the roses for sparkle.

Some will be filled with sachet teabags and others with truffles.

These really aren't presents, but just a little something to say I am thinking of you.

Each side of the box has a different image depicting Paris.

Nature Walk French Birdcage

This card has been sitting on my project table for way too long!  I kept thinking it needed something else, but finally decided it was time to assemble it.

Starting with a piece of Shimmery White paper I inked up the birdcage stamp first by loading it with VersaMark then Early Espresso ink.  I embossed it with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Flourishes were stamped in Distressed Victorian Velvet and the edges were sponged in Distressed Antique Linen.

Using the paper piercing tool from my Stampin' Up Crafters' Tool Kit, I pierced a whole in the paper and added silver cording in order for the birdcage to appear as though it is hanging.

I created a triple loop bow with some pink May Arts silk ribbon.  The bird is from SU's Carte Postale set and stamped in StazOn Black and sponged with Brilliant Blue for highlights.  I stamped the friend sentiment in StazOn Black on a piece of Blushing Bride cut from a Spellbinders Labels Four die.

So here we have an elegant birdcage with a little bit of French flair.

Mon Amie Flourish Frame

As much as I love the Stampin' Up Notably Ornate set, I did not purchase it thinking I could incorporate the bird I already have from my Carte Postale set.

So ... with a flourish frame, a bird, and some French accents this is my European card for today.  I used my new Tsukineko sheer shimmer spritz in gold, which doesn't show very well in this photo.

Artistic Etchings

The Eiffel Tower … don’t you wish you were there right now? This card actually came out better than I expected. I used a pre-made cocoa card from Rubber Soul which is white on the inside. This is not something I normally do, but thought to myself I’ll take care of that white inside … lol.

I first cut my rectangle using Spellbinders Curved Rectangles then sponged Brilliance Pearlescent Beige on both the rectangle and all over the inside of the card. I really like the marble effect I was able to achieve. I then set everything aside to dry.

Next, I sponged the outside of the cocoa card with ColorBox Chalk Creamy Brown and the Chocolate Chip mat with Chocolate Chip ink.

All images were stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate. I added the layer of pretty paper from Basic Grey and assembled my card.

As a final touch, caramel ribbon and one of the new antique brads finished it off.

Until my next post …
