Are you dizzy with excitement about nail polish?

Here is one of the spoils of the recent BOGO sale on Butter London polishes at Ulta from last week.
It's two coats of Knees Up.  This polish applied perfectly and attracted plenty of attention!
I always feel just a bit self-conscious wearing reds, so I wanted to add decals just to be different and for fun.  I have these Kitty decals from pa brand that someone sent me as an extra with a polish order.
It's kitties, hearts, houses, and then one random little creature that looks like a mouse maybe?  He is so cute and special - I didn't use him yet.
I did three accent nails.  Sometimes I just feel asymetrical...yeah.
Black kitty and black heart on the right hand ring finger.
The decals are pretty thick, so I used two coats of top coat over them to make sure they were secure.
My right hand thumb had the white kitty, which I really like!
My left hand thumb was jealous because I left it decal-less.
This was a fun mani and it definitely made me feel better about wearing red.

I got some nail wheels recently so I could do swatches easier. I sort of loathe swatching. This is my Dear Laura pa collection as well as some LA Splash glitters and another random polish or two. All of the large shaped glitters you will see I put in place using a toothpick.

These are all pas, shown over two coats of Wet 'N Wild Black Pearl. From left to right, 16. is AA36, 17. is Q9, 18. is Eternal END-202 (not technically a pa, but owned by Dear Laura), and 1. is AA01 (lookie at the dolphin glitter!).

Continuing from left to right, 6. is AA10, 7. is AA12, 8. is AA21, and 9. is AA23.

2. is AA03, 3. is AA05, 4. is AA06, and 5. is AA09. I recently did my BFF's pedi using AA03 (the 2 nail) over SH HD Laser, a rich cobalt shimmer duochrome - it is amazing and so cute!!

10. is AA24, 11. is AA25, 12. is AA26, and 13. is AA29.

14. is AA34, 15. is AA35, 16. is AA36, and 17. is Q9.

18. is Eternal END-202, 1. is AA01, 2. is AA03, and 3. is AA05. There's some repetition here, sorry about that. Just enjoy the pretties! :)

Okay, different wheel here. All of these are three coats of polish. 8 and 14-16 are shown as one coat over two coats of Wet 'N Wild Black Pearl. From left to right, 5. is A24 (gorgeous golden shimmer here), 6. is A32, 7. is A38 and 8. is A44 (again, just one coat of polish over black).

1. is A06, 2. is A07, 3. is A19, and 4. is A20. In person, A19 looks to have a twinge of orange, which is a bit of a bummer for me since I was hoping for a true neutral jelly red.

9. is A72, 10. is A95 (tiny shimmer flakies!), 11. is A96, and 12. is A104.

13. is A105, 14. is A121 over black, 15. is A125 over black, and 16. is A126 also over black.

17. is A133, 18. is A134, 1. is A06, and 2. is A07. I'm in love with the blue and the green with their icy shimmer!

Now onto the third and last wheel. This wheel is primarily LA Splash polishes. I got some off of Cherry Culture and some I bought from Ulta. They are all three coats. From left to right, 6. is Sparkling Seaweed, 7. is Sparkling Ocean Spray, 8. is Sparkling Stratosphere, and 9. is Pretty Jellyfish.

10. is Embelished (or Embellshed - hard to tell from the label, either way spelled wrong!) and looks to be a close dupe to a Massini - Purple Medallion, I believe. 11. is Sparkling Wave, 12. is Wonderland (this one smelled horrific), and 13. is Kanebo T'estimo BU-26 (my one and only from that brand).

2. is Sparkling Whale Tale (love this name!), 3. is Sparkling Torpedo, 4. is Sparkling Seahorse, and 5. is Tailscales.

1. is Starfish Silver (silver and yes, black glitter!), 2. is Sparkling Whale Tale, 3. is Sparkling Torpedo, and 4. is Sparkling Seahorse.

Lots of "Sparkling" names with the LA Splash polishes! I think they will look even more amazing with topcoat over, as some of them dried a bit dull on their own. Too bad the pa polishes don't even have real names. Harumph!!

Oh - I have another LA Splash polish. I didn't swatch it on the wheel but I'm pretty sure it was in a previous post. It was sea foam green with gold glitter. Remember?

In any case, I hope you enjoyed the wheel swatches! I knew it would take me forever to try these all on and I don't have the time or heart to swatch them all - can you imagine with all the glitter!? I am amazed at those who do. Just swatching these on wheels took a long time and got me pretty dizzy from fumes!

This is my lovely lady, Varekai. She's our older Borzoi. I call her "Moopy," "Moo," "Moopa," "Moopa-Star," "Moopa-kai," and other ridiculous variations most of the time.

This was my mani today. It's three coats of pa AA36. I only got this one decent pic this morning as I was rushing out the door on my way to work.

The coats were a little tricky to work with because they were a bit thick and the big chunky pink glitters tried to misbehave on me! I love the way it looks, though. Next time around I'll probably opt to put this over a couple of layers of another colored polish - maybe a dark gray or just black.

I hope you all have a safe and happy night!

I got a pa haul in the mail yesterday. HOO-ray! I am so excited! I had a bit of a dilemma deciding which to wear first, but rather easily settled on this perfect beauty.

This was just two coats! It applied nicely, and I do believe I heard angels singing in the background while the glitter flowed onto my nails.

This is purple, silver (several sizes), and blue glitter all in a blue jelly base. Holy hotness!

My pictures aren't accurate because the purple isn't showing as much as it does in real life. Can you tell it's there?

I really love this one.

So, I decided I need to get nail wheels so I can quickly and easily swatch all my new pretty glitters. I don't have the guts to swatch them all on my own nails and then remove all that glitter!

I hope you all are having or have had lovely Holidays filled with family, peace, joy, and love.

This is what I'm wearing...on my nails...right now. Success! I have caught up!

It's three coats of OPI Merry Midnight, which was untried until now. Holy hawt, it's pretty!

I pretty well killed the pretty with major japanese glitter bling bling. It's a random Dear Laura pa polish. I think I threw out or misplaced the box and it doesn't seem to say what number it is on the back label.

It's just one coat of the pa. I tried to do it lightly, so as not to entirely cover up Merry Midnight, but it just wouldn't happen!

If you know which pa this is, feel free to leave me a comment and I'll edit the post.

You can still just barely see the flakies in Merry Midnight. I needed a break from red and green, I think. And right now, I'm seriously thinking about taking this mani off to do a new one for tomorrow. Merry Christmas everyone, and have a great night!

Listen up! This is important. My camera lens was still smudged when I took all of these pictures. I realize how lame that is...and especially on such a life-changing manicure combination. But it is what it is. Live and learn.

I used three coats of Orly Space Cadet, possibly the world's single greatest nail polish.

Then I added a coat of pa A126.

After I did this combo, I realized that this is practically my dream polish - the one I had hoped to create through Illamasqua's recent contest! Zoinks!!

How freaking fabulous is that?!?! I wanted it to look like the Orion Nebula (you can Google that for images - simply breath-taking and one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen).

The next time I use Space Cadet I'll have to play around with it more to see if I can come up with a more perfect version of my dream polish. ;) I want to see how it looks layered over darker base colors. And I'm not sure if this particular glitter is the one I want to represent the stars (despite it's awesomeness).

I recently bought a back-up bottle of Space Cadet, which makes me very happy. I'm going to pass on MAC's dupe, Mean & Green.

I know you've probably already been over-exposed to this beaut, but hopefully you won't fault me for forcing you to see it some more.

Okay, okay, this is THE mani that popped into my head a little bit ago and prompted me to realize that I'd somehow neglected to post a handful of manis from months ago. Sheesh! I feel better now.

Three coats of pa A96.

This is a perfect green jelly. Perfect, I tell you!

I managed to have cuticle oil all over my finger tips and nails in these pictures, so don't mind the added oily texture on the nail surface! I was probably too excited about the awesomeness of the polish to even notice at the time.

Why doesn't this come in a jumbo sized bottle? Huh?

Then I added pa AA06 on top.

Sorry for the dry cuticles and lame indoor only pictures.

I shamelessly used a toothpick to fish out the larger glitter shapes and place them on my nails. I couldn't bear to just let luck take care of the dispersion. :) Someone told me these nails looked "Christmas-y," which caused my brow to furrow a bit. Someone else said they reminded them of game tables and poker, which I thought was pretty cool! Either way, I love it no matter.

This Is Me!

My photo
I love color, beauty, creativity, animals, and being care-free. I'm not care-free, in reality, but would like to think it's an attainable state of being! I do like to bend the rules when it serves a greater purpose and I'm all about being authentic. Here I am, take me or leave me! I suppose I'd call myself a sensitive soul. I think I feel things more deeply and ponder things more thoroughly than your average bear.
