This was a blue on blue glitter-groovy mani!  I used a dusty blue StrangeBeautiful for my base color (two coats).  It seems to me to look close to Illamasqua Force.  I don't think I've worn Force yet...but then again, my bottle has drastically changed colors since I bought it.  Weird.
I used a coat of Shimmer Polish in Jenny over top, then followed with Gelous and Sephora X top coat.
I loved this mani.  It was one of those where the more you look at it, up close, the better it gets!
Shimmer Polish makes some super beautiful blends, I must say.  Love!
I had ordered this a while back from the Shimmer Polish Etsy store here.  And yes, I have many more, still, untried!

My swell husband helped me to get the new Lynnderella Holiday collection.  Isn't he great?!  This is my first mani using one of those fine, fine polishes.  I chose The Present is a Gift for my first one.  :)
Here are two pictures of the underwear I used - a StrangeBeautiful from the Dickensian volume.  I used two coats.  It was thick, but good.  I like that the color has a delicate silver shimmer.
The tall and skinny StrangeBeautifuls need to be used with care, I find, or else you can easily knock them over whilst painting your nails!
Okay, back to pretty, fancy, glittah pictures!  These glitters are just magical.
I used one coat of The Present is a Gift, doing a combination of painting and then dabbing movements.  The glitters gave me no trouble at all during application.
I smoothed it out and finished with a coat of Gelous, a coat of Sephora X top coat, and finally a coat of Seche Vite.  My favorite spot on this mani is where the two black diamonds almost meet on my ring finger.  :)
I have a few tiny bubbles near the end of my middle finger, mainly, but I think I'm making progress or something because I just didn't care (well, after the initial moment of horror)!  Also, it helps that you really cannot see them in person.  I've had this mani on for three days now, and will be changing it today because of some tip wear and a small chip.

I'm tired of being back-logged on pictures and posts, so voila, here is a catch up post!  This first one is a dark grayish green StrangeBeautiful topped with OPI Simmer and Shimmer.  One coat of each.
Below is Butter London Jack the Lad.  I believe it was just two coats, but don't quote me on that.
Much prettier in the bottle, under the beaming lights at Nordstorm, but still lovely on the nail.
Next up is Illamasqua Creator at two coats.  I freaking love this one, no surprise there.
I'm not sure why I decided to include the above blurry picture, but we'll just move right along and get to some that are in focus.
Creator has tiny silver particles that resemble flakes.  They are irregular in shape.  Also, there are very occasional holo glitters (see that one blue twinkle in the bottle above?) and medium sized silver hexes (I think).
You can see a silver hex on the very edge of my middle finger below.  Great formula, as always.
And now for the voting day nails!  I used a coat of RBL Teal and then topped it with a coat of Shimmer Polish Nicole.
I really loved wearing this because it was so festive and pretty.  It wore well for a good three days, too.  Yeah, that's "good" for me.  Anything past two days is good in my book.
I love the glitters in Nicole - the shapes, the colors, the ratios, the dispersion.  Love, love, love it!  I used a combination of dabbing and painting motions to apply it.  Shimmer polishes can be found here, although it appears the shop is closed until Nov. 26.
I may have saved the best for last, which is Pahlish Toxic and Timeless!
I used two coats and this mani also wore for a respectable three days.  I finished the mani with Gelous, Instant Artificials, and then Butter London's quick dry top coat.  It was perfectly smooth and glassy.
I had more big yellow hexes on my right hand, probably because I didn't take the time to shake my bottle super thoroughly and it had settled some when I grabbed it to do my mani.  Nonetheless, I absolutely adore the result, the polish, and it lived up to my every grand expectation!
If you don't have Toxic and Timeless, I'm going to say that you need to get it!  It's amazing.  Check out all of Pahlish's wonderful creations here.  I'm really excited about her upcoming holiday collection.  Cannot wait!

I've been wearing this combo since very late on Wednesday night.  That is four days, Nation!!
The success in duration is largely in part to my nails being super short, I'm sure of it.
Here I started with a coat of StrangeBeautiful polish from the Dickensian volume.  It's a very dark gray and looks black on, actually.  It has tiny silver sparkles.  It was opaque in one coat, however, gave me all sorts of application grief with a wonky curved brush and thick, gloppy formula.
Nonetheless, the StrangeBeautiful did its job in providing me with good underwear for Hits Borealis!  I used one coat of Borealis and then two coats of Butter London top coat after.
Borealis has a somewhat large and fluffy brush, but didn't give me much trouble while applying.  I got too much glittah on my ring finger, but I don't think it's really noticeable.
I LOVE this mani.  I'm so glad to have had it on for four days!  I'm going for a fifth, tomorrow, too, which might end up being a record or something.  I suppose I really should keep my nails super short all the time so I can have better wear!  :)
Do you get better wear with little shorties?

I was SUPER excited to get the Mario Dollish Polish collection recently (I'm not 100% sure it's called "Mario" but you know what I mean).  I had to wear Dyno-mite Yoshi first!!  I chose a dark green creme StrangeBeautiful from volume VIII to wear under (two coats).
Let's see...I am pretty sure I used two coats of Dino-mite Yoshi here.  Then I used a coat of Gelous and a coat of Butter London top coat over everything.  It was smooth except for a few spots where the little white glitters were (they remind me of eggs!).  Those white glitters are very poofy and three dimensional.
Okay, so this picture above?  It was getting ready to storm when I hurriedly snapped these pictures.  The sun got covered up there for a second, but I like how the gold and red little glitters are glowing.
I can't help but realize that this mani could also easily double as a Christmas theme, however, being the major Yoshi lover that I am, I have to insist that it's perfectly perfect for anytime that you want to think about the cute little dinosaur or happy times playing Mario video games!
Here are some bonus shots of the super cool Happy Hands Lolita.  I took these pictures indoors tonight, thus the lame lighting.  Also, the camera freaked out about the color.  It's a bright pinky coral and there is much more differentiation between the colors of the glitters inside - pink, red, and yellow - than what you see here.
I used two coats of Milani Neon Pink Rocks! underneath a thick sort of coat of Lolita, applied in a combination of brushing and dabbing motions.  I topped it all with two coats of Gelous and a coat of Butter London top coat.
I absolutely love Lolita.  It's so ridiculously pretty and I hardly ever say that or feel that way about a pink polish.  It's gorgeous!  I wish I had better luck with the formula, though.  I was probably rushing it because I had quite a few bubbles.
It still looks really cool, though, and much cooler in real life!  I know y'all are going to tease me about not seeing the bubbles, so I've already braced myself for that.  They are mostly near the tip ends and I'll willingly admit that these pictures don't exactly showcase them very well (which is FINE by me)!  :)

I ordered StrangeBeautiful vol. VIII from Lucky Scent, Dollish Polish Dino-mite Yoshi from Llarowe, and Lolita from Happy Hands.  You can click on the names for links, if you like.

I wasn't planning to do a patriotic 4th of July mani...well, not exactly.  More on that in a later post.
This is what I decided on earlier this morning.  I started with a coat of my favorite red creme.  It's an unnamed (that I know of) StrangeBeautiful polish - from which volume, I honestly could not tell you.
Next, I added a coat of Lynnderella's Mlle. Violette de Bleu.  Kind of more purple than blue, I suppose, but turned out pretty nonetheless.
Next, I added a coat of Lynnderella Ruby Red Ruby.
I finished with two coats of Gelous and a coat of Orly In a Snap.
My nails and skin look so shiny just from me trying to rub in the remnants of my quick dry drops.
It's a pretty and glittery mani that I quite like.  I do hope it lasts more than just through today!
I hope you all have a wonderful day and enjoy your 4th of July festivities, if you are participating in any.  :)

Here I started with one perfect, gorgeously opaque and creamy coat of a StrangeBeautiful polish.  It's a stunning tomato red creme.  I don't know which volume this was from.  Ugh.  Sorry!  I don't even care anymore.  But if you must know, I can probably figure it out.
Then I added two coats of China Glaze Love Marilyn.  Pardon my cuticle oil!
I had so much fun wearing this.  It was like having jewels on my nails.
I took some weird pictures indoors with early morning golden sun.  Behold!
Blingtastic!  But everything is looking too golden.
If you don't already have Love Marilyn, I highly recommend that you get it.
Application was easy and the wear was pretty good, too.
Sorry I didn't get better pictures in natural light.  I think, I hope, you get the idea, though!

This Is Me!

My photo
I love color, beauty, creativity, animals, and being care-free. I'm not care-free, in reality, but would like to think it's an attainable state of being! I do like to bend the rules when it serves a greater purpose and I'm all about being authentic. Here I am, take me or leave me! I suppose I'd call myself a sensitive soul. I think I feel things more deeply and ponder things more thoroughly than your average bear.
