A happy and early Fourth to everyone!  I'm wearing two coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Wet Suit topped with a coat of Finger Paints Red, White, and Hue.  I finished with a coat of Starlight & Sparkles Crystal top coat.  Great application on all things mentioned!  And now I'm ready for some time off and some fireworks!  I hope you all have a great holiday.  :)

This is three coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Perfect Pear-ing.  I got it on sale at Target a few weeks ago along with a few others.
Dare I say that this is a crelly!?  I don't think I've ever used that term before, but it totally came to mind as I was applying this polish.  It's not as opaque as most cremes and definitely has a slight squishiness to it!  What say you?  Crelly or no?
I love this color.  I find it to be rather unique to my large collection of minty colors.  It's more spring green and lime green than most mints but still has a distinctly mint feel to it.
The application was easy, though I was kind of annoyed to need three coats.
My wear time sucked with this one, but to be fair I have been playing with my base and top coat combos lately, so more than likely that is to blame versus the actual polish!  I believe I was wearing the Dior Gel top coat here, which absolutely did not dry quick enough.  I'm still testing it out in various ways, though, so I haven't made up my mind completely on it.

Hello, friends!  I apologize for not having updated in nearly a week.  I've merely been lazy.  The pictures are backing up and I've got tons to post - now I just need to do it!
This is three coats of OPI GoldenEye.
Application and wear were good.  I did use two coats of top coat, just to be safe.  Lately I'm finding that I need more top coat layers because my more recent favorite formulas are not as thick as the old faves (Seche Vite and Poshe, for example).
I can deal with another coat, though, if it means an extra day or two of wear!
After I got GoldenEye, I realized I have a dupe - maybe even two, thinking about Orly Glitz and Glamour!  The dupe in question, however, is Sally Hansen Gilded Lily, which I bought from Target maybe a couple of months ago.
Here are the bottle comparisons.  Looking mighty dupey.
And here are some nail wheel comparisons.
If I try to imagine a difference, it's that Gilded Lily might be a hair darker in color and maybe more reflective and shiny.  That might be due to formulation density and/or brush differences, though.  I'm gonna say that they are super close and you definitely don't need both.
I hope to show you my awesome and patriotic voting day mani tomorrow!  I'm wearing Shimmer Nicole over RBL Teal, and I think it's just grand.  Now get up and vote, Nation!!  Go!!

I'm back!  You probably didn't know I was gone, though.  :)
I went to visit my various grandparents last week, for a week.  I wanted an easy mani solution, so I chose to put on nail stickers.
These are the Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail strips in All-A-Flutter.  I put them on and took these pictures last Tuesday.
I went ahead and topped them with a coat of Poshe right away.
My application with these was hurried and not my best work.  You can see that the edges near the cuticles are not very smooth or even looking in some places.  That's from either trimming them poorly (I use my Tweezerman nippers to trim them sometimes) or having had too much sticker in that area and then clumsily sort of pinching/chopping off the excess with the wood stick or some other implement.
I think I actually went and used a small brush with acetone after I took these pictures to try and smooth out the rough edges!  It helped some.

This design is cute enough, but honestly, it's not my favorite.  Within a day or two I was pretty well over them!  I wore them for a full eight days, though.  I didn't take any progress pictures.  They were somewhat chipped by the end, but not too badly.

Oh!  And I don't like how the index and middle fingers look exactly the same.  I prefer them to be all different or all the same.  I guess I wasn't paying attention when I put them on.

These are Sally Hansen Salon Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips in "Speed Dating."  These first two pictures were taken the morning after I applied them.
The hearts have a cool gradient effect with red and orange.  It's subtle, but nice.  I was pleased with my fit and application.  I've picked up a few tricks having done these several times now!  :)
This is the first time I have not used any top coat during the process of wearing these stickers.  Here, above and below, are the gratuitous pictures taken this morning, on the beginning of day seven!  I did buff them quickly with the Revlon Crazy Shine buffer, just to perk them up.
I have some tip wear, yes, some out-growth, yes, but they are still looking gosh darn good, I'd say!  While I have so many fantastical polishes I'm eager to wear, I will confess that it's been sweet not changing my polish at all this week.  What a nice break!  I plan on wearing these strips in the beginning of March when I take a week long trip to visit my grandparents.  Then I won't have to worry about packing polish and that sort of thing.  :)

Truth be told, I wore this manicure about two weeks ago.
I started with two coats of Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect Satin.
Satin is a slightly pearly (I almost say frosty, but that's not the best word for it) light peachy pink color. The brush is quite large, which is not my favorite, but I made it work.
Then I added the magic!  Two coats of Lynnderella's very special Liquid Valentine.
Liquid Valentine has tons of beautiful tiny blue shimmers and then various sizes and shapes of red, pink, purple, and holo glitters.  I think there is silver, too...it's hard to tell/remember!  :)
I love the hearts, diamonds, and squares.  Heck, I love it ALL.

I didn't even have to fish out the hearts, so that was pretty awesome.
I was thrilled to receive this polish as a gift from the wonderfully talented Lynn.  Thank you so very, very much, Lynn!  You continue to amaze me with your insanely beautiful, fun, and funky works of art.
Liquid Valentine is not for sale at this time, but you can learn more about Lynnderella polishes at both her blog site here, as well as Llarowe's shop here.

I have more heart-tastic manis in store for you, my lovelies!  Stay tuned.  :)

I *just* took pictures of these a few minutes ago.  They've been on since either Wednesday or Thursday night (I can't even remember!).
They are the Sally Hansen Salon Effects appliques in "Hard Wired," from the Halloween collection.
These lovely macro pictures really show my ridges!!  They don't look nearly so ridge-y in real life.
Aside from a few small nicks and some fairly minor tip wear, I'd say they are doing ah-may-zing for being on day 5 or 6 or whatever.  I've learned - the hard way - not to put base under them.  Granted, with the last set I used Gelous underneath and that was just a horrible decision all around.  Gelous never did well for me as a base!  In any case, the silver spiderwebs started chipping badly within a day or two.  :(  I've also learned that a couple of my fingers give me trouble with a perfect fit.  For those, all I have to do is carefully trim the stickers just a bit and that does the trick really well.

It's time for more awesome Halloween nail appliques!
These are the limited edition "Spun For You" design by Sally Hansen.
I have to say that I'm mostly proud of my application this time around.  I got the placement much better than what I had done with the little ghosts.
I did mess up a couple of nails, though, and have to start over using a new sticker.  Thank goodness for the extra ones!
Also, this time around, I decided to experiment by using my beloved Palladio Fuse base coat underneath them, and then I top coated them right away with Cult Nails Wicked Fast.  Normally I don't use a base and I top coat them after about four or five days of wear.
In some ways, the base helps right away when you're applying but it also makes it a bit tricky because you have less wiggle room to mess up and start over!  The base is sticky, so you have to be sure you're placing it right before you make a move.

Wednesday I put on the Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail appliques in Ghoulie Girl.  These pictures are from that day.
For some crazy reason I always apply and place the stickers much more precisely and evenly on my right hand (not shown)!  Totally bizarre since I am right handed.
They remind me of Pac-Man ghosts, kind of.
They are super cute and fun!  I'm really enjoying wearing them.  I do have a few little dings and chips by now, but nothing especially heinous.
I have to say I am itching for a change!  I don't know why because normally I love having these on and wearing them for as long as I possibly can.  I'm going to try and keep them on until the end of tomorrow, at least.  :)

This mani is straight off of MUA's Nail Board. Nail Board rocks!!!

Two lovely girls (nrahman1993 and MeganChair) came up with this combination of polishes, so a huge shout out to them for their genius! :)

I started with a coat of the purplelicious jelly wonder that is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Purple Pizazz.

Then I added a coat of OPI Last Friday Night.

Next, another coat of Purple Pizazz.

Then, a coat of the magical Clarins 230.

I finished with two coats of Poshe (it wasn't drying fast enough with one).

I had, much to my relief and joy, NO VNL at the tips!!! Hooray!

I hate when the tips shrink back when I'm wearing jelly polishes. *shudder*

The picture above is one of my favorites, shown in a bit of shade outdoors.

I wasn't able to capture the uber cool green shimmer of Clarins 230, but it did show itself on special occasions for me.

If you don't own Clarins 230, don't despair! This combo looks really rad even just with Purple Pizazz and Last Friday Night - I promise!

I definitely think I'll be trying more jelly/shimmer/glitter combinations in the near future.

I really love how this looks and wearing it has made me so happy!

What has been one of your favorite manis or combinations you've worn lately? :)

I leave you with another favorite, last picture. ZOMG rainbow in my bottle!

This Is Me!

My photo
I love color, beauty, creativity, animals, and being care-free. I'm not care-free, in reality, but would like to think it's an attainable state of being! I do like to bend the rules when it serves a greater purpose and I'm all about being authentic. Here I am, take me or leave me! I suppose I'd call myself a sensitive soul. I think I feel things more deeply and ponder things more thoroughly than your average bear.
