I'm calling this my first Christmas mani of the year!
I started with two coats of NYX Girls Alaskan Wild, which is what you are seeing here.
It's one of those jelly-like cremes, or squishy cremes, or whatever you want to call them.
The color is beautiful and the application was easy.
Then I added a coat of Lynnderella's Funny Money.
I just received my latest order last night and it definitely felt like Christmas opening that package!!
I used the same method as with my previous Mercurial mani for my top coating:  Gelous, Cult Nails' top coat, and Seche Vite.
Funny Money is rich with green, black, and little bursts of color (red, purple, blue, and gold).
I debated my base color long and hard, as usual, because while I wanted to use black, I also did not want the glorious black glitters to get lost in the mix!
I'm pretty happy with the end result.  It's majorly green, yet majorly gorgeous.
Funny Money is made with bergamot oil.  So far I have detected a very slight, delicate scent.  Then again, with all the top coats, I don't expect to be smelling much bergamot.  (Right at this moment all I can smell is the eucalyptus oil I have on my cuticles!)
It's unintentionally, yet marvelously reminiscent of a beautiful Christmas tree, don't you think?  If you haven't heard of Lynnderella polishes, you can learn more at her blog here.

This is the mani I wore today. It started with two dreamy coats of NYX Girls Purple Noir.

Purple Noir is basically the perfect vampy purple. It applied so nicely and without any complications or issues whatsoever.

I added a coat of Ozotic Pro 504 and then a coat of Ozotic Pro (Elytra) 530.

The bottle you see above and below is 504. Funny thing is that I didn't really want to use 504 over Purple Noir just because I've tried it recently and intended to use an untried Ozotic multichrome...but I wasn't paying attention and just grabbed 504!

I guess it just goes to show how utterly awesome and useful a color 504 is!

Now you can see the bottle for 530. It's got amazing red, pink, orange, and yellow shifting glitter.

I love how the orange-y-ness looks over the blue-purple-ness!

It's a mega hawt combination, if I do say so myself. I even coordinated my eyeshadow today to match (unconsciously really). I used Fyrinnae shadows: Sequined Master on the lid, Avian Shapeshifter in and above the crease, Fyre & Ice as the outer "v", and Baby Beluga as a highlight in the inner corner. I wish I had a picture to show you. I thought it looked pretty cool.

Ever since I saw the polish, read the name, I knew I had to have NYX Girls Pimp My Nail! Oh man, I just love it!

I started with three coats. It's a neon jelly but actually did not dry matte. Odd.

I added one coat of KleanColor Holo Green.

I'm pretty sure it was still fairly wet in these pictures, so that explains any gushy-looking-ness you might see.

It turned out fun!

Oh yeah, that pic looked really squishy!

Pimp my nail! Yeah, baby, yeah!!!

Hello, Lovelies! I've missed you all. Sorry for being absent. Got a little busy, a little lazy. I've still been doing lots of manicures, though, so I just have more pictures back-logged! Yipes. Gotta hop to and start posting regularly. :)

This is two coats of NYX Girls Algae topped with a coat of Nars Adelita.

Algae applied beautifully, like all NYX Girls. Adelita is a sheer golden peachy shimmer, perfect for layering!

First off, let me say that I'm going to do my very best to keep my camera lens cleaned from now on. Hopefully you will never have to suffer through a string of smudgy posts again!

Secondly, I'd like to thank my followers for being awesome and supportive. Never, in my wildest dreams, could I have imagined that over 200 people would choose to read my little blog. It blows my mind and humbles me, very much. Thank you.

I just read a post on another blog, Bright Lights, Big Color, which got me thinking about several recent comments on my blog. I don't want anyone to follow my blog unless they want to. Don't follow unless you enjoy my pictures, reviews, small talk, etc. Ya know? It's pretty simple.

While I appreciate that it can be hard to get followers and that at times as a baby blogger (which I absolutely and completely still consider myself to be) you can feel like you need a gazillion followers to be cool, respected, or important, I also think you need to just relax and let things happen as they will. That's my attitude about it, at any rate. I do enjoy seeing other great blogs, although I don't spend a whole lot of time reading/viewing other nail blogs - not nearly as much time as I used to before I started my own!

All of that being said, I want you all to feel free to comment as you wish. I read all the comments and enjoy your shared thoughts and feelings. If you don't feel like sharing, that's fine, too. I don't comment on other peoples' blogs very much but still enjoy looking at them when I can. I would prefer if you not ask me to check out your blog, or leave a link, or tell me that you'll follow me if I follow you. It just makes me uncomfortable and I don't want this to be the direction for my blog to go in. I'm not trying to be snobby or pretentious or anything else annoying...I just wanted to share my thoughts on the matter. I most certainly reserve the right to change my thoughts on this at any point in time, but for now, this is where I'm at.

The manicure, my gosh, was two coats of NYX Girls Sunday Afternoon with a coat of NYX Girls Mushroom Glitter. I of course did this one on a Sunday afternoon, being the occasional cheese-ball that I am. :) I absolutely loved it and I really can't say enough about how great NYX Girls nail polishes are. They are cheap, they always apply fantastically, they have a great color range, and the names are often interesting or quirky. LOVE! If you don't have any, and you are at all able to get some, you really should!! I buy mine from Cherry Culture.

This was truly glitter-ific! I used two coats of Nina Ultra Pro Purple Xing and then topped it with a coat of NYX Girls Dreamy Glitter.

I placed the stars with toothpicks, because I didn't think they'd go where I wanted them otherwise.

I had a little shrinkage on a couple tips, but nothing too bad, thankfully.

I like this mani - it was fun and really pretty.

I have some other Nina Ultra Pros that I picked up but haven't tried them yet. They look promising.

Hello, lovely friends! I have lots of gorgeous pictures for you. I hope you'll forgive my absence as of late. I'm not sure what my problem is, but I know I've been feeling stressed with new responsibilities at work. I also had family visit recently, which kept me preoccupied for about a week. My nieces are too cute for words, by the way!

This is my nail-of-the-day, Essie Van d'Go. I did three coats, just to be safe. I probably could have gotten away with two.

I really like this. It feels light and refreshing, like a break for me from what I usually wear.

I don't generally adore creams, but I do love this. It's so soft and pretty but not entirely girly and frilly.

Below is Illamasqua Insanity, three coats. It's pretty insane, yup.

Bright, mid-tone orange cream.

It's not quite traffic cone orange, but it does demand attention. It's fun and funky. I got a lot of compliments on it the day I wore it.

It's a UK exclusive color, unfortunately for those of us who live elsewhere.

I adore the next polish, Nubar Violet Sparkle. It's so freaking stunning and fabulous! Three coats of luscious, purple, sparkly, dreamy goodness. It's a bit warmer and more red in real life. The pictures are faking it out, making it look more blue-toned. Silly purple!

Ohhhh here's another winning fantabulous Nubar purple, Hyacinth Sparkle. Three coats. What's not to love? I highly recommend the entire Sparkle collection from Nubar. I wore a few others and neglected to photo them, but I will make a point to swatch them soon. They are terrific!!

Here's yet another fun one, Nubar Gem, three coats.

Three coats of NYX Girls Fig, an ambiguous vampy beaut!

It's more purply/blue/gray in real life, but still very dark and naughty.

Three coats of L.A. Girl Rockstar Head Banging with one coat of L.A. Girl Rockstar Live on Stage.

LOVE me some Rockstars!

This is three coats of LA Splash Golden Seahorse. Lovely, no?

Illamasqua Nudge, two coats, with two coats of Rococo Gold Leaf Lacquer. So much fun! I heart my Rococo Gold Leaf Lacquer so much...and it's so toxic stinky, just so ya know.

And last, but not least, is NYX Girls Boho, two coats. This is a gorgeous soft, cool green, with a metallic sort of shimmer.

I hope you enjoyed the show!! I keep acquiring polish at mind-boggling rates, so be assured that many more pictures and reviews will be on the way soon. :)

XOXO

This Is Me!

My photo
I love color, beauty, creativity, animals, and being care-free. I'm not care-free, in reality, but would like to think it's an attainable state of being! I do like to bend the rules when it serves a greater purpose and I'm all about being authentic. Here I am, take me or leave me! I suppose I'd call myself a sensitive soul. I think I feel things more deeply and ponder things more thoroughly than your average bear.
