Are you dizzy with excitement about nail polish?

For this mani I used Color Club Raspberry Rush and Essie Beyond Cozy.
I did three coats of Raspberry Rush.  It's candy scented - slightly obnoxious but it did fade within about a day.  It's a super bright and cheery neon pink.
For Beyond Cozy I only needed two coats, but I did top with Gelous before my top coat.
I liked that this was kind of fun, summery, and a little unexpected for me.
And here is another one for you!  Rainbow Honey Tessie.
This is two coats of periwinkle perfection.  I cannot tell you how much I adore this color and it's pretty soft shimmer.  It's more purple in real life.  Think right between purple and blue.  These pictures make it look far too blue.
Tessie just makes me happy.  It's such a soothing, comforting color for me.
The formula was thick but easy to work with.  Check out the shimmer in the bottle below!
I'm debating if I should get a full sized bottle of this one, assuming it's still available!  I probably won't, just knowing how much polish I have and how much is untried!  But dang, this color kills me.

This is two coats of Essie Come Here.  I really like this color (lately).
Application was very easy but I stupidly chose to use Dior's top coat over top and thus my beautiful mani only lasted about a day.  :(
Next was Lippmann's Sugar Rum Cherry, from a LE holiday Bloomingdales trio set.
I used three coats here and followed with my usual Sephora X top coat.  I got great wear time with this one - around a week.
I made sure to go slowly between coats, as this type of polish finish will always bubble on me if I rush.
The shimmers are really complex and gorgeous.
Not my usual sort of color, if there is such a thing, but I enjoyed wearing it!

Here is Illamasqua Purity.  It's even better in person!
It looks just a little paler and fleshier in real life - but is still quite different enough to be a real peach and not nude.  I adore this and got many compliments on it.
I am pretty sure I only needed two coats.
Next is Essie Pretty Edgy.  I want to say I only used two coats of it - but it might possibly have been three.  My memory - not very good!
You can see from my junky looking bottle that it's old and needs more shaking (although I shook it quite a bit!).  My pictures, fortunately, do not show much of the bubbles I had in the polish from shaking it too too much just prior to applying!  D'oh!  It was still a pretty mani that I very much enjoyed.
Thanks for looking and I hope you have a great weekend!  :)

I finally got around to wearing OPI Metallic 4 Life recently.  I did a coat of Finger Paints Black Expressionism as my base, then a coat of Metallic 4 Life, two coats of Seche Vite, and finished with two coats of Essie Matte About You.
I know that sounds like a lot of coats and a lot of nonsense, but it was really relatively quick and easy.  I did it kind of late at night, too, and was able to go to bed pretty quick.  That, of course, is the beauty of Seche Vite.
The bummer-oosky of Seche Vite, though, is that at a day and a half of wear time my polish began to chip and lift.  I knew it would happen.
For being such a relatively simple glitter polish, I really really love this.  It just plain makes me happy.  Go figure.
Here is a picture of Georgia lounging around on her couch.  It cracks me up that her tail is between her legs!
I would take more pictures of my other dog, Varekai, but she is not nearly as pose-y as that George!

This is three coats of Essie Chinchilly.  I would first off like to say that I would love to own a Chinchilla someday!  Second, I've had this polish as an untried for a long time.  Third, I really really love it!
I don't know why my fingers look so red here.  The polish dries darker on the nail than it appears in the bottle.  Also, my pictures refused to capture it, but to my eye, it looked slightly purple toned.  I'm really loving the gray-ish and dusty tones lately!

This mani took more time and patience than most do, however, I am well pleased with the results!
I used three coats of Essie Marshmallow for my underwear.
Next, I added one and a half coats of Lynnderella Sweets to the Sweet.  I say one and a half because several nails only need one coat but some others I dabbed on a bit more (up to two coats of it in total).
I finished everything with two coats of Gelous and then a coat of Seche Vite.
It was not perfectly glassy smooth, but still smooth enough for me to enjoy.  I actually did a close variation of this combo right before this mani and I had trouble that time around with the white glitters in Sweets to the Sweet bunching up on each other and in little heaps.  I would say that this polish requires more patience and skill in application than many glitters...but then again, this is so delightfully delicious that I am more than happy to put up with some glitter shenanigans!
It looks like tasty funfetti cupcakes and I definitely had a few friends telling me that they wanted to lick my nails!  :)

This polish is SO HOT, oh my goodness!
It's three coats of Essie's discontinued Ruby Slippers.
I was lucky enough to get this off of a blog sale not too long ago.
I have to say, it is all that, and then some!  The red jelly base is swimming with tiny shimmers.
The glitter (which I am fairly certain is actually silver - I say this because as I removed it it definitely looked like silver and I was kind of surprised) perfectly disperses itself across the nail and just glows.
It reminds me of Essie's Love, Beverly Hills xx, which is a favorite warm-toned, gorgeous, glowy red of mine.  This is so much better, though, with all the shimmer and glittery goodness!

I tend to feel self-conscious in reds, but around this time of the year I definitely don't have a second thought about wearing them.  Hooray!!  Merry Christmas, I say!

For this manicure, I started with three coats of Essie Blood Curdling.  It's from the Addams Family Morticia's Nails set.
I really wanted Blood Curdling to be good in two coats, and it almost was, but I had a few spots that needed more polish.  It's got that awesome creme but almost jelly finish.
Then I added two coats of Lynnderella One Nutty Fruitcake.
While I think this combination is ultimately very interesting, I was definitely sad that all the awesome black glitter got a bit lost in the fray, what with the lack of contrast between it and my base color.
I'm thinking that the next time around I might try it over a pastel color.

Very shortly now, Lynnderella polishes will be more easily available through llarowe.

I am not affiliated with Lynnderella or llarowe.

For your reading and (mostly) viewing pleasure, I present yesterday's deep space nails on MATTE.
I used two coats of Essie's Matte About You.  I realize that they still don't look 100% completely matte in all places.  I think the lesson learned (thanks to asking friends on MUA) is to not be stingy when using matte top coats!  :)
You probably know me well enough to understand how much I like the shiny and the sparkly, yet for reasons fully unknown to me, I felt compelled to try this matte.
My camera chose to focus only on the bottle in the picture above.  Not a total loss.  I'm mesmerized by all that glitter in the bottle!

My overall verdict?  It's pretty cool!  I'm intrigued by how the glitters appear frozen in time...and space.

This Is Me!

My photo
I love color, beauty, creativity, animals, and being care-free. I'm not care-free, in reality, but would like to think it's an attainable state of being! I do like to bend the rules when it serves a greater purpose and I'm all about being authentic. Here I am, take me or leave me! I suppose I'd call myself a sensitive soul. I think I feel things more deeply and ponder things more thoroughly than your average bear.
