Are you dizzy with excitement about nail polish?

I have to give myself credit here - this combo is really fun!
I started with three slightly streaky coats of Essence Mellow Yellow.
Then I added a careful coat of Candeo Zef.  I followed with a coat of OPI DS top coat and Butter London top coat.
Zef is really thick, so I was worried about how it would apply.  I have to say, it actually did great!  The glitters nicely dispersed themselves for the most part and I really like how it turned out.  I used careful painting motions along with occasional dabbing.
My friend at work pointed out that this color combination reminds her of the t.v. show Saved by the Bell.  So true!!
I haven't done any actual nail art in a long time, but this type of look makes me feel like a cheater.  It's easy, awesome, cheater, lazy person nail art!
I think Zef will look fun over lots of colors:  light blue, lime green, lavender, soft gray.  What do you think?  I'm curious to see what combinations others come up with who have this!

Now I am wearing three coats of Essence Irreplaceable. It's one of the newer polishes to show up in the Essence core line at Ulta stores.

This polish has a gorgeous glass-flecked shimmer that is iridescent gold with a subtle green twist.

I was Ooo-ing and Aah-ing when I first picked up the bottle.

I'm really not loving this on me, though. Next to my skin, it just looks "off" somehow. Too warm, too drab, too blah - I can't quite put my finger on it yet.

I'm hoping that it grows on me, in any case.

I recently bought several styles of the new (to the U.S.) Essence Studio Nails Nail Fashion Stickers. I'm pretty much a sucker (and a psycho) for anything Essence. I tried them out this past weekend but did not have luck in the end. Here is a quick picture I took.

Whatever is wrong, you might be wondering!? They look so cute! And nicely applied! Yes, it's true. They are super cute and the application is excellent. The PROBLEM is that the largest sticker isn't nearly wide enough for my thumb nails! I did not take a picture of this (but should have, for laughs).

I tried to think of a way to shift it or cut pieces off of other stickers and make it work somehow, but eventually came to the realization that it just wasn't going to work for me. The kind ladies on MUA suggested that I could use them still and just paint my thumb nails black. That's a great idea, actually! I may end up doing that if I decide to keep the other packs I bought. It kind of defeats the purpose of not having to paint your nails and wait for them to dry and all that stuff, though. :(

If you have wee little nails, or just don't have big man hands like I do, these could work for you. I've also gathered that they do not stay on very long - so it would probably be a one shot day long kind of deal. Still fun and cute and cheap.

This is two coats of Essence What Do U Think? I put this on the other night when I knew I wanted a quick-drying no fuss polish change.

It did dry pretty quickly, which is a definitely bonus. And great coverage in two coats.

I have quite a few Essence polishes that I've acquired from Ulta (so glad they have this brand now), but I think this is my first post on one! I used one as a base under an Illamasqua, but that's it.

In any case, I do love them. They are cheap - super cheap, perform well, and have cute colors!

This polish is supposed to be a dupe for Chanel Orange Fizz, if I'm not mistaken. See the pretty gold shimmer in the bottle? Doesn't really show on the nail.

The funny thing about this was that it looked like a lovely pink peach coral after I applied it. As I put Poshe top coat over, it instantly turned much more orange looking! I couldn't quite believe my eyes. I checked my bottle of Poshe - picked it up and stared at it, expecting it to look yellow or something. Nope. Crystal clear.

How bizarre! It's still a gorgeous color - kind of a softer orange, along the lines of peach, but I'm not going to lie, I liked it even better before the change! It does dry darker than what you see in the bottle, too, if you are wondering.

This Is Me!

My photo
I love color, beauty, creativity, animals, and being care-free. I'm not care-free, in reality, but would like to think it's an attainable state of being! I do like to bend the rules when it serves a greater purpose and I'm all about being authentic. Here I am, take me or leave me! I suppose I'd call myself a sensitive soul. I think I feel things more deeply and ponder things more thoroughly than your average bear.
