Impression Obsession - December Team Favorites

The IO Team is back today to share a favorite card from this month's release, so here's mine! Head over to the Impression Obsession Blog for all the links so you don't miss anything. All the newest releases can be found HERE.

I've got another card using this month's kit. I took color cues from this sheet in the Basic Plaids paper pack. I warmed up the scene with some reds and purples, added some mountains in the background, and stenciled in some clouds. I used a curved mask to brush in a little pond in the foreground. The hand-lettered sentiment on this card is so special - I loved those elements in the Serendipity Stamp line.

Here's a closer look:

Impression Obsession - more November products

We've got more projects from the new release from Impression Obsession today! If you haven't seen the new release, you can find it all HERE - go check it out!

My inner child is 12, and I couldn't resist this set full of animal buns and related puns! I still have a little stash of matboard squares from my time designing for Inchie Arts, so I used those for this layout - it's been one of my go-to layouts for a long time. The plaid paper is from one of the new paper packs. I colored the hippo square with a combination of colored pencils, Copic and OLO markers, and an acrylic paint pen.

There's a cat in the set as well. I colored this little scene with pencils, masking off a semicircle with a stencil. I added a couple of simple paw prints with a black pen, and used a stitching die to break up the open space at the bottom of the panel.

Too cute!

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - Super Sponsor!

It's time for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, and I'm honored to be a Super Sponsor again! Keep reading to find out how you can win one of two handmade prizes, and receive a special coupon code for my online store!

In case you're new to my blog, I'll tell you a little about me.  I adore Winnie the Pooh, randomly burst into song, and love fun socks. I'm a working artist (see my commissioned pet portraits HERE), have my own line of stamps, papers and stencils at Impression Obsession, and I'm the Artist in Residence at Splitcoaststampers. I have an online store where you'll find prints of my original artwork as well as notecards, jewelry, upcycled bags, and other items. I've been blogging here since 2006 and I'm a serial creator!

I had started this little canvas a few months ago when my coffee pot stencil was released - it began with a gel print and needed more layers and some touch ups. I filled in the image base with the same acrylic paint, then shaded with brown acrylic paint and added highlights with a colored pencil and acrylic paint pen. I painted in a shadow and horizontal line, then used matte gel to add in a couple of paper scraps and a die cut word. I used a Pitt pen to shade around the die cut, then stenciled in the clouds in the background. (I'm hosting the Mix-Ability challenge today at Splitcoaststampers, and the theme is Clouds in My Coffee! Perfect.)  One lucky commenter will win this mini canvas (4" x 6")!

This week be sure to check out my Etsy store for coffee themed items and more - prints and necklaces make great gifts! I've got glue pins and craft and coffee themed purse charms as well (contact me about custom designs too!). Clicking the graphic below will add a 20% coupon to your cart when you spend $20 or more. Thank you!

use code COFFEE20 for your discount!

My 2nd prize this week is a handmade mini tote bag in a coffee theme! My bags all feature upcycled, vintage, and thrifted textiles - this little bag is made from some leftover quilt scraps and kit pieces, thrifted strap and fabric, a valance, a pant leg, and some upholstery samples. The bag is about 10.5" wide with a 3" base - great size for some books or a project on the go.

FOR A CHANCE TO WIN ONE OF MY PRIZES:
Please leave a comment on this post by May 12 at 9 pm Central! The first name I draw will get to choose their prize. Don't forget to come back here to see who my winners are!

Thank you for visiting me today - you will find all the Coffee Hop details you need HERE

Impression Obsession Monthly Kit - May 2022

I hope you've had a chance to check out this month's red rubber kit at Impression Obsession! I used it last week to make a sample for the tutorial at Splitcoaststampers - it's an easy fold with fun pop-out panels to decorate inside.

I did my stamping in purple Versafine Clair ink, then watercolored the images with QoR paints and added a little water misting and stenciling in the background. It was a perfect format for a mother's day card (which arrived in Idaho late, after a weird visit to Alabama!).

Check out our team's creations with the May Limited Edition red rubber stamp set May 4th – 11th for more inspiration!  You can find a list of participants on the Impression Obsession Blog each day through the event. We will be giving away THREE Impression Obsession $25 gift certificates for the event - so the more you comment through our Release Celebration the more chances to win!

All comments for each of the event days will be open until Tuesday May 16th at 8pm CT. All winners will be announced on Wednesday May 17h on the Impression Obsession Blog.

Thanks for visiting me today!

Impression Obsession On Sale Now Too!

As we anticipate changes and a new chapter for Impression Obsession, we have some overstocked items that need to move and make room for all the new things! The team will be showcasing some of these closeout clear sets and dies today - be sure to visit all the designers' blogs and especially the SALE section of the website to see what else you might need! If you see something you love, grab it - these closeout sets and dies will not be returning!

There are a few of my clear sets that will not return to IO, so I'd like to feature one of those today! I'm really sad about this sweet elephant, because I think he's such a cutie. There are quite a few of these sets left, so run and grab one if you agree with me! There are matching dies for the elephant, pole and 2 flags in the set too. Links are below.

I colored the images up using colored pencils, then added a little stenciling to the background. I just happened to have some elephant paper to match! The flag and pole are die cut and popped up, and so are the sentiment pieces. This is another set with several mix-match sentiment bits.

Impression Obsession February Release Day 2

Welcome back for another day of projects using brand new Impression Obsession stamps! All new stamps are available HERE! We are kicking off the month with a 2-day hop, showing off the new releases - today is day 2! Head over to the Impression Obsession Blog for the start of the hop so you don't miss anything!

Here are a few more silhouettes, and a fun addition for scenes, a set of watercolor brushed horizons. These can be layered together for a variety of scenes! For this first card I used a single stamp and repeated it, angling it a little differently each time.

I love the depth that creates, even though the repeated image is the same!

My second card uses all 3 of the watercolor borders in a simple monochrome scheme. The 'fade' on each stamp allows them to be used together seamlessly.

Impression Obsession January Release Day 2

Welcome back for another day of projects using brand new Impression Obsession stamps! All new stamps are available HERE! We are kicking off the month with a 2-day hop, showing off the new releases - today is day 2! Head over to the Impression Obsession Blog for the start of the hop so you don't miss anything!

I added a few stamps in a mini slimline size - these cards are typically 3.5" x 6.5" so the stamps are just slightly smaller to allow for layering. These 4 stamps are designed to play nicely together, and layer or 'kiss' for different effects. Here are some ideas for you!

Inked/misted Distress Oxides make a quick and vibrant background. (This sentiment set is my new favorite clear set - there is a stamp for every occasion and they fit nicely with the slimline sentiment dies, too!)

This cross background is the negative outline, so you can use different effects to fill the sky. I inked the background with Oxide inks again, then misted the rays stamp and used it to lift ink away.

The sky stamp can back the crosses or any other scene - I thought these colors worked well for a desert scene, so I stamped multiple times with different inks then layered a die cut over the panel.

This stamp is the opposite of the other one - here's another inked background with a simple stenciled horizon line.

Here are the 4 stamps together - you can see how they work together. In addition to mini slimline cards, they are perfect for A2 cards!

Impression Obsession DT Theme - Snow

The Impression Obsession team has some projects to share today featuring a snow theme. I used one of IO's oldest die sets - this mitten is a great size for a shaped card or large tag!

The set comes with the mitten die, the snowflake I used here, and a bow die - there's even a matching solid stamp you can use with it - it would be really cute with a kissing technique! Here's a close up of my card base - I ran the die cut through my machine with a stencil to add some knit texture, and the snowflake is cut from adhesive craft foam.

Be sure to check out the other designers' blogs for inspiration - see the I.O. blog for all the details!

If you're looking for a sale, be sure to check out the featured stamps page where a curated collection of themed stamps are 25% off! Take a tiptoe through the clearance pages while you're there too!
