Current Obsessions

My current obsessions...

True Tori

I watched the first episode because I was interested in the truth. I've read her books and I had seen the first season of their reality show years ago. When I heard he cheated I wondered if it was true. Let's be honest, those magazines don't always get it right. I tuned into the first episode to see Tori sitting on her couch telling the world, "Yes, it's true!" Since then I've watched all the episodes. At first I was really annoyed with Tori for not voicing her anger. For letting Dean not feel bad about what he'd done. Now home girl is starting to voice it and I can appreciate that!

 Butter Croissants

I've always loved them but lately I have been addicted. In the morning, in the afternoon and the evening. Does three butter croissants a day keep the doctor away? Add a little cheese or some maple ham and yummy! Safeway has got some good ones. You can get an entire box for only 5.00 dollars. Done and done!

Floyd Mayweather vs. Miss Jackson
A few Saturdays' ago, I watched the Mayweather vs Maidana fight. Normally I would not have. My extent of knowing boxing is Mr T. and the Russian vs. Rocky. However, Beezy is a big boxing fan. Well all week long leading up to the fight they have these little 30 minutes videos that shows them at home, with family, with friends and living their every day life. So naturally, like any reality tv fan, I got addicted. I was very intrigued as to why Mayweather separated from his fiancé of many years. Thank you Miss Jackson for posting a photo on instagram because that hit a nerve with Mayweather and he put it on blast why they broke up. Since then I've been watching their instagram feeds and it's interesting to say the least.

Vacation
I know I know. I have a ton of vacations planned for the rest of the year but I can't help it. I want more. What I really want is a small RV and to never work again so I can travel around the country and visit tons of places that I've always wanted to. However, this is real life and that's not going to happen soon unless I win the lottery.

Bill Laimbeer
About a week ago, I was sitting at home with beezy when he turned on ESPN for the 30th time that day. Instead of being a game or a talk show talking about a game, it was a documentary on the Detroit Pistons during the late 1980's when they were trying to win a championship. This thing was 2 hours long but I got into it. It had interviews of the players today and what things meant to them back then and now. Since I didn't watch basketball back then and I don't really know a lot about other teams, I had no idea they struggled to win and came so close years in a row.

So while the documentary is going through the timeline, I kept asking Beezy if they won. Well of course he wouldn't tell me. So I found myself wondering did they win? I put aside what I was doing and starting watching the documentary and I became strangely interested in it. I couldn't get enough. The documentary ended, I found out if they ever won and I still can't stop thinking about it. I wonder what the players are all doing now etc.  I can't get enough. My favorite player now might be Bill Laimbeer. Yeah some people didn't like him but guess what, he was a winner. Does anyone else like him or the Pistons?

Why It's Not Just A Movie

I have a major obsession with the movie, Romancing the Stone.
Ok. Fine. I admit it. It's more than a major obsession. I don't even know what to call it, that's how obsessed I am with this movie. I watch it probably at least 4 times a week.... and honestly I'm low balling it. I'd say it's probably at least 6 times a week. Granted, most of the time I'm just too lazy to get up and change it out of the dvd player but in reality, I'm actually obsessed with this movie. I could probably quote the whole thing to you right now if you asked. I also know little obscure facts about it. So what am I so obsessed? Let's dive right in!

1. It's a good movie. It's got Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. Let's not forget Danny DeVito.
2. It takes place in a country that I myself am too afraid to ever visit so I can travel there through them.
3. She's a romance novelist who really believes her fairytale man is out there.
4. It has really good one liners.
5. Crocodiles!!! Enough said!
6. It's got spanish words in it so you can pick up some spanish for free.
7. It shows any woman get be independent.
8. They teach you how to react in a crisis situation: Drink. Panic or fight your way out.
9. Reaffirms the Life lesson: Always pack an umbrella and carry travelers checks.
10. It has a happy ending.

I could go on and on but I wont. My mom and I also like to compare my life to Joan Wider (which is Kathleen Turner's character in the movie). We've noticed quite a few similarities. Joan travels to a far away place on her own. CHECK! I've done that one. Joan goes into the unknown. CHECK! Joan holds on to the hope that the man of her dreams is out there. CHECK! Joan is willing to do whatever it takes. She may crack along the way but she's going to make sure she gets there. She gets the job done. CHECK!

So I will continue to watch this movie. It's my motivation. It's my calming movie after a rough day. It makes me smile.

I am OBSESSED!

Seriously, someone stop me. I am obsessed with England all over again!
Maybe it was because I got up and watched the Royal Wedding last week at 4:00am. Maybe it's because I've been there twice and loved every single minute of it. Maybe it's because part of me desperately wish I could live there. I don't know what it is but I can't get enough.

I bought 4 of the entertainment magazines with features about the Royal Wedding. I've been eyeing prices on airfare and hotels with the thought of going there for my upcoming 5 day vacation. I feel that 987 dollars is still a little too much for only 3 full days in London no matter how much I am obsessed with it right now.
Even though I've got the upcoming move to California, if I was offered a job in London and a work permit, I would jump at the chance. When I was there I felt like I was home. It felt like I belonged there. I can't explain it, if you've ever felt that feeling you know what I'm talking about.
Another thing that's fabulous about England besides the amazing sites, shopping and cute accents is the HOT guys. London is full of them. Actually... this single girl would like to find a hot british dude right now. (oh yeah that's right I said it, now come find me hot british dudes). I have a friend who I met at summer camp when I was like 15 and he's from London. Here we are together... and he has a very british name of Simon.
Oh England, how I love thee...

Stuck on You

Today is the last day to enter my giveaway, if you haven't done so you can do that here. The winner will be announced Thursday.
Ok... let's talk about my latest obsession: Car Ribbon Magnets.

They are slowly taking over the world. At first you'd see the "Support Our Troops" or the "Breast Cancer Awarness" ones but now there is a ribbon for everything. When I say everything, I mean everything. A few months ago, I saw one on a mini van that said, "Support Strippers" Um...what?!? The last week I saw one that said, "Support lap dances". Wow. Just wow!

You can get one for any cause, sport, country, military branch, job, blank color, saying, etc. Where does it stop? Who knows?

Now, anytime I see one of these magnets on a car, I start to speed up so I can read it. At traffic lights I'm sure people look into their rear view mirror and wonder why I've got my face almost to my glass trying to read their bumper.

So do you have one or more on your car? Do you love them/hate them?

Spilling the Beans

I have a confession to make. I am an obsessive list maker. There I said it. Please don't hate me.
I make a "To-Do" list every single day. At the end of the day, if all my items on the list have been marked off then I feel very accomplished. I can't help it, I've been this way for years. I find these lists everywhere. Maybe I should make it an item on my list to find and throw out all of my random "to do" lists laying around.

Why am I talking about this? Well that's because yesterday I got to mark off a big item on my list. I booked my flights for the month of May. If you thought I was driving out there, heck no! Also, I started the process of getting ride of things I don't need to take. I began with my bedroom closets (yes I said closets plural, I have 2) and oh my goodness! I think I have every piece of clothing I've ever bought. I was in a sorority in college and if you know anything about sorority life, it's that we love our t-shirts. I think I counted at least 20 greek life related t-shirts, not including big/little sweatshirts. I can't throw those out! The 1990's parachute pants...yeah those can be go bye bye.

I'm thinking I'm going to have to have my very 1st yard sale come spring. Maybe someone out there is dying for a VHS of Bedknobs and Broomsticks, a cassette player stereo or out dated clothing to wear to themed parties.

It's not where I originally was going but I think it's going to be fabulous! It's going to be a crazy, long adventure getting there but life is all about challenges, chances and making the most of it. I'm willing and welcoming it with open arms. You never know what can happen!

Doesn't it just look amazing!?!

Yay! I finished!

Remember the blanket I've been working on? Well after finishing the infamous quilt, I turned all of my attention onto the blanket. I can now say it's done!
It's a twin sized, knitted blanket. Pardon the horrible quality picture. It was taken with my camera phone. In case you can't tell it's aqua blue and brown.
I was going through some old photos and I realized that as a child I had a major obsession with squirrels as a child...

See...I told you
