Hip, Hop Goes the Easter Bunny

Can you guys believe it's already April? I sure can't! This year is flying by and before you know it, it'll be time to pull out all of our Christmas decorations. We've been keeping busy with work, vacations and tons of extra projects around the house. Easter has sprung and the pollen is in the air! In our house, we give Easter baskets to each other. I always give one to my mom and to my husband. We've been exchanging them ever since the first year we started dating. This year for some reason he's become hard to buy for! I always ask for little hints during the year at things he might like but recently he hasn't asked for anything that I could add to my lists. While that dilemma continues, I had no problem adding things to my massive wish list.

1. Christmas Village pieces

2. Adidas Shoes.

I use to have several pairs of these in the 90's and they were great! They lasted forever. I wish I still had my old pairs. I would rock them now! If my memory serves me correctly, these shoes run a little big so I think I would wear a 5.5

3. Movies.

I love all of these movies! There's several Hallmark movies that I'm hoping they will put out on dvd!

4. Books.

I love to read and these books are some of my favorite series to read. I haven't read any of the Longmire books but I loved the show.

We haven't secured our Easter plans yet but I'm thinking of doing a dinner. Making some dishes and a half of ham. How do you normally celebrate Easter?

Happy Easter: Muir Woods

Easter 2016 is in the books. I hope everyone had a fabulous Easter weekend. We spent the day enjoying each others company and the gifts that the Easter Bunny stopped by and dropped off. The house was even a little decorated for the holiday. We decided to get out of the house and head over to the Muir Woods.

We had never made the two hour drive over so we decided to go on Easter Sunday. We thought it would be less crowded with people doing Easter activities but we were outsmarted because it was packed! We had a really great time though and did one of the three mile paths.

Muir Woods is filled with giant and ancient redwood trees. It's a haven for wildlife deep inside the national park and the trails are perfect for novice of advanced hikers. We had a really great time and enjoyed the leisure trail.

The trees are literally so tall that a majority of the sunlight doesn't touch the ground so moss and green plants grow.

We saw this giant spider web and the spider hanging out in the middle of his web.

We also saw these green plants every where. I have no idea what they are but we thought they looked very Willy Wonka and Tim Burton.

It was a great first Easter holiday married. If you get the chance to visit Muir Woods don't pass it up!

Easter Baskets

Easter is right around the corner! When I was growing up every Easter Sunday I would get in my new dress, head off to church and open my Easter basket that the Easter bunny dropped off the night before. You can see my 1986 year was a good one...

Once I got older we kept up the tradition of giving each other baskets. Year after year we figure out little gifts to stick inside them and on Easter Sunday the bunny leaves us some goodies to open up. This year will be no different as one basket is taken care of already and I'm working on the other two. Here's a few items I'd like to see in my basket...

1. Elvis Tumbler & Elvis Clambake Sound track
I keep a cup on my desk at work for water and this would be a great one to have on my desk year round! My favorite Elvis movie is Clambake so it should be only fitting that I finally get the soundtrack.

2. Christmas Adult Coloring Book and Colored Pencils

My other love besides Elvis is Christmas! I have had this coloring book in my amazon cart for months! I'd love to get an adult Christmas coloring book and some colored pencils!

3. Amazon Gift Card
Who doesn't love a good amazon gift card? I have so much stuff sitting in my amazon cart. Am I the only person who just adds stuff to their cart all the time? Well I do.

4. Telescope
I actually already own a telescope but it's still in West Virginia. I would love to be able to see Mars when we make a pass at it next month. It won't be this close again for another two years. I'm ready to see the red planet up close!

Do you still do Easter baskets in your family?

Easter Weekend

Friday night we kicked off Easter weekend by watching a classic Harrison Ford movie. It was the first time I had ever seen it and Beezy hated it so much he fell asleep 30 minutes into it. I thought it was pretty good for it's time. The movie...

On Saturday, we were surprised with an early morning showing of our house. We were able to get back into our own house to get ready since we were having an open house from 1-4:00 p.m. We also got a Saint Joseph and buried in the yard. We are really praying the house sells this week.

While the open house was going on, we had a baby shower to attend. Beezy's nephew is having a little girl in May so we headed to the park that they were having the shower in. They did a mermaid theme and the shower was really cute. I thought the cake was adorable!

A few members of Beezy's family lives in Las Vegas, a few were in town over the weekend so we went to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack with his family for dinner. It was the weirdest dinner I think I've ever been at. We had just ordered our meals and at the table behind ours, a guy fell to the ground and passed out. They got him up and revived him and he proceeded to vomit everywhere on the ground. 911 was called and EMT workers had to take him out. Apparently he was having some kind of medical issue and it wasn't alcohol related. Crazy! Needless to say my appetite was gone at that point.

Sunday, we celebrated Easter all together at one of his cousin's house. We had an Easter egg hunt for the kids and the adults had some fun too. Have you guys ever seen these confetti eggs? Their egg shells full of confetti and you can break them on each other for fun without it being gross egg messy. Well we had fun with them.

The guys also got together and took a group photo...

I got a visit from the Easter bunny. He left me a great basket filled with The Sound of Music 50th Anniversary Edition, CHiPs season 3, a wind chime and BRITNEY SPEARS tickets for Las Vegas!

I will be seeing Britney Spears in Las Vegas next month! Woohoo! I can't wait! The moment she announced her residency in Vegas, I wanted to be there. Beezy, my mom, his mom... everyone got an Easter basket this year! I hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

Five on Friday

1. Easter is here this weekend! It came fast this year. I'm very excited to see what the Easter bunny has in store.

2. Beezy's best friend's wife had her baby this week. Beezy loves babies and he can't wait to be a dad one day (far away). We went and visited them in the hospital a few hours after he was born. Meet Lennox...

3. Meal planning. All week long we have done meal planning. I'm not talking about just writing on a calendar what you're going to eat each night for dinner. Beezy made all of my lunches and dinner for the week on Monday and that's exactly what I ate. That also meant that we had to go to the grocery store and stock up on the exact things that a trainer has said to eat. We of course had to get meat...

4. Real mail. I love getting real letters in the mail. My Maid of Honor who happens to be one of my best friends sent us a really nice card in the mail. It made me smile. It's always nice to know people care about you as much as you care about them. I'll have to say even though she lives on the other side of the country she's been there for me this whole time!

5. Since I'm trying to get fit and look great for the wedding, I've cut out all kinds of fabulous foods but I know it will be worth it. I saw this meme the other day and totally laughed.
