My baby turned nine years old! To celebrate, she simply wanted a sleepover at home. So I started planning! We decided on a 'glamourous camping theme' also know as 'glamping'. Part of this was due to the adorable tent we bought for camping... but have yet to use! So with our theme in mind and a handful of excited guests, it was party time!

DIY Tea Party for Girls
More than anything, my youngest daughter wanted to have her birthday party at home this year. And she wanted it to be a tea party. Parties at home can be tricky. Lots of cleaning, setting up, etc. So honestly, I tried to change her mind :) I offered up a big party, with as many friends as she wanted, at one of those trampoline parks. But she was set on the idea of little fancy tea party. And since I can't say no to my girl or the chance to throw a fancy party, I began to plan.... and now I am SO happy that she didn't choose that trampoline park after all!

DIY Rosette Cake (Posh Puppies in Paris theme)
My sweet Maisy Lou turned six last week. And this year, I felt like making the cake myself! So that's what I did :)
Maisy's birthday theme was "Posh Puppies in Paris"-- it went along with the Fashion Runway party package that we ordered at Sweet & Sassy. I knew I wanted her cake to be girly, pink, and a little 'over the top'.

Truck Birthday Party for Boys
My little nephew Wyatt came to visit from California. Luckily his visit coincided with his 3rd birthday, so we got to help him celebrate. Wyatt's favorite thing right now is 'trash trucks'. How cute is that?!
I loved getting to help with his party. My sister Amanda (Wyatt's momma!) chose a local park for the party. It was the perfect place for a group of busy little people. We have had a lot of rain around here lately. But on the day of the party-the sun came out just for Wyatt!
Tonka truck plates, napkins, and table cloths.
Goodie bags filled with Tonka truck cups, toy trucks, bouncy balls, ring pops, truck stickers, punching balloons, bubbles, truck party blowers, and truck tattoos.
Wyatt's birthday cake was made by Market Street. Amanda requested a cake that looked like a construction site. Then she added some new toy cars to the top. Those Oreo 'rocks' were so yummy!
Happy Birthday little guy. Thank you for letting us join in on all the fun that comes with being 3 years old!

The little guests loved playing on the park together.
We set out chalk and mini cars. The kiddos knew just what to do. Roads, houses, and a little town popped up along the sidewalk.
Next, we cleared the way for this big Tonka Dump Truck Pinata. (Pinatas and toddlers--- watch out!)

Pop Star Birthday Party
It always starts out small---my ideas for birthday parties. But then I get really excited and my kids get really excited and all these ideas start popping up. So with that said, here is my Afton's 9th Birthday Party. She wanted a 'Pop Star' theme. And that's what she got!
I made the invites myself using PicMonkey.com.
Both my girls dresses up like Pop Stars and I even broke out my sequin pants. (Because how often can you really wear sequin pants?!)
When the guests arrived, they walked the "hot pink carpet" to the front door. They were presented with a 'backstage pass' to wear. Then they visited the 'hair/make-up' table for a little rock star treatment.
Next they took turns posing in our Barbie Rock Star Box. I saw this on Pinterest and Afton begged me to make it. I used two short wardrobe boxes that we had in the attic and taped them together. Then we cut the shape and painted the exterior with hot pink paint. The interior is lined with wrapping paper. I had a few props sitting near the Barbie Box- sunglasses and inflatable guitars. The girls knew just what to do! (I later printed off these photos and enclosed them in the thank you notes that we mailed to each girl.)
After pizza and fruit kabobs, the party entertainer arrived.
We had her for an hour and half. She played games, did glitter tattoos, and made balloon wands for each girl. The girls spent a lot of time signing on the microphone and dancing too!
At the end, we sang 'happy birthday' and ate cake.
Each girl went home with a 'swag bag'- it contained a glitter microphone, a Ring Pop, and a Rock Star slap bracelet. The girls also took home their neon hair extensions and backstage passes :)
It was a fun party for all and at the end, my Pop Star Barbie even found her Ken!

"Tutus and Top Hats" Birthday Party
You know how I feel about parties. I love a cute theme and slightly 'over the top' decorations. I like detailed party tables and I think those ideas on Pinterest are adorable. (Even though I never do half of the ideas I pin. I really like to look at them all!)
I don't think anyone should feel pressured to do a "Pinterest" party. If party planning doesn't bring you joy, then skip it. Everyone has things they are good at. We all shine in different ways, but learning to appreciate talents in others does make life sweeter. For some people, throwing a party is their 'thing'. So if you are a 'party loving ' person - this post is for you :)
Which brings me to my friend Diana and the Tutus and Top Hats party she recently hosted. Her parties make me SO happy because I can see how much thought, time, and love she puts into them. I feel like she honestly wants her guests to feel delighted- and she does that through pretty decor, yummy food, and lost of attention to detail. I have as much fun at her parties as the kids do.
For her daughter's 2nd birthday, she hosted this "Tutus and Top Hats" party. When I walked in her home I literally clapped my hands. So much pink cuteness! Diana kindly let me snap some iphone pics to share with you :)

All the guests were given a tutu and wand or top hat and tie to wear during the party. The party accessories doubled as party favors. (How adorable is the lil birthday girl?!)
Check out these little bows- made from paper napkins.
The kids decorated sugar cookies and Valentines. The weather was warm, so they played outside too.
There was yummy food and drinks. And can we admire this chandelier for a moment please??... so sparkly!
And there was the sweetest little birthday girl who loved it all. Happy Birthday Miss L!
Thank you Diana for hosting a delightful afternoon. Your creativity and passion for parties is so much fun!
