Inspired By Stamping July Release - Arrows & Octagons

Welcome to our sneak peek party at Inspired By Stamping!  Today's peeks are all about Arrows and Octagons, two new July sets.  (links will begin working on July 10th, when the sets are in the store) I'm sharing a little gift I made with Arrows:

This little metal canister begged to be dressed up with pretty stamps and flowers.  The sentiment and the arrows all come from this new IBS set.  The pink paper flowers remind me of frosting roses on cakes.  So sweet!

Have a peek at our design team's creations, too:

Whoo Hoo Wednesday - Hugs & Kisses

For Easter this year, I planned to bring a box of Hershey’s Chocolate Kisses to my relatives’ house as a little gift.  I thought it would be best to dress it up to suit the occasion, and thus a Whoo Hoo Wednesday tutorial was born!

I started by gathering some punched blossoms and several die cut shapes:

Using some foam dimensional stickers, I layered the die cuts like this, and subtly inked the edges of each one:

Using white craft glue, I applied the punched blossoms in a random fashion:

To add more dimension (and beauty), I glued a Pink Flower and two little Leaves to the center.

I stamped a tag and sentiment using Creative Tags, added white twine and hung it from the flower so it can be detached easily.

I used just a small amount of clear double-sided tape to attach it to the box:

Here is the finished box topper.  When the candy is gone and the box is empty, this could be displayed on a small easel, or with magnets attached on the back so it can decorate your refrigerator or office cubicle.

Thanks for checking out my tutorial today!

Whoo Hoo Wednesday - Mini Note Card Set

Hello everyone!  It's my turn to feature a project for Whoo Hoo Wednesday over at Inspired By Stamping. I used a silver hinged tin that has been lingering in my basement for too long and turned it into a sweet mini note card holder.  Supplies are listed at the end of this post with links to the IBS goodies used.

I started by creating 5 mini note cards for this set.  Cute Circles is the perfect stamp set to use.  There are 5 different circle frames, and I made each one a different color, using the same sentiment for each.

I used mostly dye inks to stamp on my mini note cards, and one chalk ink.  Not sure why, but the chalk ink SERIOUSLY stained my stamp after just one use.  Bummer.

These little 3" x 3" note cards have envelopes too.

To fancy up the tin, I measured the front of it, cut my kraft cardstock to fit, and rounded the corners with a punch.  Before adhering the cardstock to the tin with double-sided tape (so it really stays put), please follow the next step.

Punch strips of kraft cardstock with a Doily Lace punch.  Adhere to cardstock cover, then trim off excess.  Secure to front of tin.

Cut two more kraft pieces to fit inside the tin, and secure with double-sided tape.
Time to create two pockets, as seen below.

Attach each pocket along 3 sides (again with double-sided tape), leaving the top open so the mini cards can fit inside.

I added some Vintage Crochet Trim and buttons on the bottom section.

Let's look at the finished product one more time....

I do so love the flowers that IBS carries.  I used a Pink Curly Flower and White & Pink Medium Flower here, along with a vintage button (topped with a pearl) and a sentiment from Little Phrases II.   The Vintage Crochet Trim and Rose Seam Binding go "sew" well together, don't they?  Tee hee!

Hope you enjoyed this project!  The possibilities for upcycling boxes and tins are endless.

Check out our brand new Design Team today over at Joanna's blog!  Welcome aboard, ladies!  Can't wait to see all the inspiration you will bring.  :-)

Play Date Cafe 109 - Girly Gift Enclosures

Smoky purple, blush and champagne - these are the new colors this week for The Play Date Cafe!  I love how soft they are.

Our sponsor, Sweet Stamp Shop, gifted each of us on the design team with a cute set.  Thank you, Nicole!!  I received  "Hello Beautiful" -

I used the nail polish bottle stamp and created some mini gift enclosures.  My 13 YO used one of them to include with a friend's birthday gift recently.  She gave her friend two Essie nail polishes, Beach Bum Blu and Power Clutch:

Here's the gift enclosure duo --

The card stock base is Blush Blossom from Stampin' Up!, the patterned paper from DCWV's Once Upon A Time.  It had just the right smoky purple swirls on there.

You can see the purple swirls better in this close shot, as well as the shiny layer on the bottles, made with Crystal Effects (SU).  And I just LOOOOVE pearls, so I threw a few on there, too!

Check out the creations made by the rest of our design team at The Play Date Cafe.  They've got lots of Sweet Stamp Shop inspiration brewing for you!

Thanks for coming by today.  :)  I always appreciate your visit!
