Cup of Chamomile

I belong to the Altenew monthly Paint-A-Flower subscription, and months ago, we received a chamomile get well set.  This is one of the images that comes in it, along with the sentiments:

Stampin' Up! Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder; Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Chamomile sentiments and flowers

I kept it really simple, with some subtle polka dot embossing on the bottom, and a really thin strip from a book page.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Tea For You

Hello my friends, happy Wednesday!  I hope you're doing well in your little corner of the world.  Wanted to pop in and share a get well card I made a while back.  I was having a fun day with Groovy Guava cardstock from Stampin' Up! (remember that In Color?) and came up with this, plus a few other cards (for another post).

Inspired By Stamping Tea Party tea pot and cup, Delicate Doilies II doilies; My Favorite Things Cup Of Tea sentiment; crochet lace; pearls

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  I so enjoy my self-challenges, like picking out a cardstock or patterned paper or stamp set and seeing how many different things I can make with it in one or two sittings.  It's such a simple thing, but it brings me joy.  I suspect you understand what I mean! 😉

Have a wonderful evening!

All On A Slant

One day back in JANUARY (man, it took me a while to get these into a blog post!) I played with a new-to-me Papertrey Ink die set, Sentiment Splits: Angle Vertical.  It was fun making simple cards with patterned paper, a quick sentiment, and a tiny bit of embellishments.

Certainly not some of my fancier work, but it was fun to just play around with the same supplies while they were all out on my desk, and vary things up a bit on each card.

This week was a busy one with doctor appointments, and next week will be as well.  I found out I will need further surgery, to remove more lymph nodes and see what they contain.  If they look good, no chemo is needed ("just" radiation and hormone blocking pill).  Praising Jesus in advance that I will not need chemo.  This surgery date has not yet been set.  I am disappointed that I am facing another surgery, but it truly is important.  If I can avoid chemo, I would like that very much.

Thanks for coming by today, God bless you!

International Leaves

The Post Script background from Stampin' Up! makes its debut here!  I bought this stamp for a great price at an SU sale a couple of years ago, and finally, I've used it.  You know how it goes, too many stamps, not enough time.  😉

I like the look of it, and should remember to put it into action more.

Inspired By Stamping Vintage Postcards 'Palermo' postmark; Stampin' Up! Post Script background; Tim Holtz / Sizzix Tattered Leaves dies; Papertrey Ink Keep It Simple: Get Well sentiment; My Favorite Things Slanted Sentiment Strips die; Distress Ink Sprays (assorted)

That top leaf was fun to color up with a whole bunch of Distress Ink Sprays.

Autumn will be here soon, and I am so ready!

Chicken Soup For You

Happy Wednesday!  With a short week due to our holiday weekend that just passed, we have reached the mid-week quickly. 😀

Today I've got a little bowl of chicken soup to share with you.  Cutest bowl of chicken soup I've ever seen, with that happy smile!

Lawn Fawn On The Mend bowl, spoon, sentiment; Spellbinders Labels One die; Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Pinking Squares die; glossy accents

This was quite the 'scrap' card.  I really did pull together many items that were in a scrap pile on my work desk.  The bowl of soup and spoon have some glossy accents on them; it's a shame they never photograph as nicely as I'd like.

It's my hope this will put a smile on someone's face.
Thank you for your visit!

Autumn-Themed Cards

Hello everyone!  I've been wanting to play in a card challenge, and I was intrigued by the Tic Tac Toe challenge #104.  I picked the bottom row, which features birthday, coloring & yellow.  I put together an autumn-themed birthday card, with a birthday sentiment inside.  Sometimes I like the simplicity of  'for you' on the front of a clean and simple card.

Hope you and your loved ones are doing well.  My husband has been busy repainting our living room, going from a beige that I am tired of, to a pale warm gray.  The woodwork is white, we keep that standard throughout the house.  I'll try to remember to share a pic or two here when it's all finished.

One of my teeth fell two Fridays ago (a crown with post) while I was eating.  Ugh.  And of course, it was a Friday, so I needed to wait the weekend to have the problem addressed.  I went to a new-to-me dentist office that was highly recommended, and on Monday morning, lo and behold, my tooth that had been given a root canal, where the crown had been, was yanked.  Thankful for nitrous oxide.  I am now in the process of getting a dental implant.  It will be my first.  I hear good things about them.  😀

God bless you!

You are my biggest blessing...and more!

Hello everyone, how are you doing in your little corner of the world?  Here in NJ, we are beginning to relax quarantine restrictions.  I guess we're one of the last in the country, but our state had been hit pretty hard with COVID-19 cases.  It's a little scary to think about re-entering society.  I have asthma - an underlying, chronic condition - so I need to be cautious about my health, as so many do.

I must say it truly is nice to see more and more people out for bike rides and walks in my neighborhood.  I remember early on during quarantine, there was NO one out during one of my walks, and it was eerie.

Hope you don't mind me popping in for a short visit to share some cards with you.
Here we go!

Butterflies and Birds

Good morning friends!  It's Sunday March 29th, 2020 and I hope you are healthy and well. 😊  There are so many sad stories in the news; sometimes it is good to step away from the TV, radio, internet to give your emotions a break.  I am grateful for this card-making craft of ours.  The process of making, photographing, and sharing them is therapy for the soul.  The cards help me escape for a little while.

For today, here are cards with themes of birds and butterflies.

Feel Better Soon

Every once in a while, I like to create a card with a cute feel to it, especially when I can build a scene with adorable little critters.  This turtle from Lawn Fawn's 'On The Mend' is wearing a hot water bottle on his back, and he seems happy about it!  The sun is a scalloped circle die cut that was white.  I used a yellow Copic marker all over it, and drew on a tiny face.

Lawn Fawn 'On The Mend' turtle, sentiment - Avery Elle 'More Stories' mushrooms and flowers
I used patterned papers from a Ki pad, I believe, to stand in for grass and sky.

Thanks so much for taking a peek, have a terrific day!  Hope you don't need a hot water bottle. 😊
God bless you!

Long post full of cards!

Hello again!  I had a chance this evening to edit some card photos, and I've got a long line of pics to share today.  Some are simple, some are fancier, some make good use of scraps. ;-) I hope you enjoy!

Thanks so much for joining me today!  Happy Thanksgiving once again!
