Postal Collage

Hello all!  We've got an "Anything Goes" week at Topflight Stamps.  I had fun making a collage card with various elements from PaperArtsy stamps:  Alison Bomber Rosehips Edition; Alison Bomber Violets Edition; Alison Bomber Blackthorn Edition; Alison Bomber Apple Blossom Edition and Scrapcosy 41.  Each of these sets has a little postage stamp / postmark / small label, and I stamped each one on scrap paper and colored in with alcohol markers, then fussy cut.  I set these aside to create my background.  On watercolor paper cut to fit my card, I sprayed Lindy's Stamp Gang Buccaneer Bay Blue in a random way, then spritzed water to help the color move around.  While that was drying, I tore a piece of kraft paper from a shopping bag into a smaller rectangle.  I spritzed it with Lindy's Stamp Gang Gossamer Gold, and followed up with some sprays of water to move the color.  Once that was dry, I assembled all of the little elements in the center of the kraft rectangle, and added some scraps of burlap in two corners.

The Lavinia Uplifting Collection Stickers have their spot(s) on here too.  I used the white ones from the sticker set (they come in black and a neutral tone, too) and grunged them up with distress ink.

Strawberry Tag with PaperArtsy

Hello all!  This week at Topflight Stamps we are focusing on the PaperArtsy brand.  It's a vast category, they have so many products in our store!  For my tag, I began with a couple of Fresco Chalk Paint in two colors:  Spring and Winter Green and paired them with PaperArtsy Alison Bomber PS487 and PS472 Large Stencils.  After the background was dry, I carefully glued down some petite strawberry plants, courtesy of PaperArtsy Alison Bomber Strawberry Edition stamp set.  They'd been stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink on scrap white cardstock, colored and fussy-cut.  I also stamped and cut out the words that come with that stamp set:  botanical, medicinal, floral and herbal, and added them on here individually.  There's a round label that comes with the set too, and I used that, plus a postage stamp image from the PaperArtsy Alison Bomber Rosehips Edition stamp set.  They decorate a piece of abaca ribbon I've had for decades.

Nesting Robins

Hello!  You've got Colleen here for an Anything Goes week at Topflight Stamps!  Considering we're in springtime, I have birds and nests on my mind.  I needed a New Home card for someone special, so I pulled out Visible Image "Christmas Robin" stamps as well as PaperArtsy Alison Bomber "House & Home" stamp set.  On a scrap of cardstock, I used Versafine Clair ink in Fallen Leaves to stamp the birds (mom and baby), then fussy-cut them out.  I had some punched leaves from my stash to snuggle around them to create a nest vibe.  I used Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp the sentiment and add it toward the top of the card.  It's a quote from Laura Ingalls Wilder: "Home is the nicest word there is."  I also added some pearls as "eggs" in the nest.  These are from Hunkydory.  One of my fave accents!

Rosehips for Spring

Happy lovely Thursday to you all!  For our Mother / Springtime themes this week at Topflight Stamps, I've got a pop of color for spring to share with you.  I got to play with the main image from PaperArtsy / Alison Bomber's Rosehip stamp set by using a watercoloring technique.  On watercolor paper I stamped the rosehips image with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  On a clear acrylic stamping block, I smeared some Lavinia Soft Cygnet dye ink and spritzed it with water.  I painted this on the whole panel (except the image) in several stages, to get deepening color in some areas.  Then I painted the image using a few hues of Distress dye inks, plus Lavinia Pixie Green and Truffle dye inks.  I used a couple other stamps from the Rosehips set:  a postage stamp (top right corner) and the sentiments (springtime / rise and put on your foliage), all of these stamped on a scrap piece of white cardstock and properly distressed to look aged.  On the top right and bottom left corners of the watercolor panel, I used the Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp Chou & Flowers Brittany Text.

Beautiful Blackthorn

Hello there!  This week at Topflight Stamps, it's Anything Goes.  I pulled out the PaperArtsy Alison Bomber Blackthorn Edition stamp set to play with.  I stamped the branch twice with WOW! Embossing Ink, then used WOW! Weathered Gold embossing powder and hit it with a heat tool.  It's such a beautiful shine, hard to capture in photos.  The same was done to a postmark from the Blackthorn stamp set.  To color the images, I used Lavinia Spun CandyGreen Parrot and Truffle dye inks and a small detail brush.  I added Hunkydory Classic Pearls along the flowers.

The background images are from the Blackthorn stamp set, stamped in Truffle ink here and there.  I added a sentiment from same set near the bottom of the card, stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink.  Final touch was a piece of crochet lace from my stash.
