Be My Valentine(s)

Hello there!

We haven't met up with each other here in a while.  I hope you are doing well in your little corner of the world. 😀    How is it that, as the years roll by, we feel busier than ever before?  I wonder about that sometimes.  Do I truly have more on my plate than I did before, or am I just slowing down and am not able to keep up as well?  LOL

With some of the free time I have, you'll find me up in the craft studio making cards, versus blogging about them.  And I have kept myself plenty busy with art therapy, aka card making!  The creations you see here today were actually from last year; that's how behind I am in the realm of photo-editing and blogging about cards.

So glad you came by for a visit, and I hope you enjoy seeing these belated Valentine cards.

From My Heart

Hello there!  I delivered this Valentine card to Arts Plus Gallery this past weekend for sale. It's got an elegant feel, a bit of drama (red, black, silver and white), and a slight nod to nostalgia (remember handmade fancy-cut hearts?) too.

I used Top Dog Dies Doily Hearts here as the focal point (red for the fancy part, brushed silver in the background), and topped it with:  Gunmetal sequins (M & J Trimming), Sparkling Clear sequins (Pretty Pink Posh), a Mini Delicate Doilies die (My Favorite Things) behind a Spellbinders Ribbon Banners die cut.  The sentiment is from 7 Gypsies Trousseau.

Thanks very much for visiting here today!  God bless you!

Beaded pumpkin on a table

Available at Arts Plus Gallery

How gorgeous is this beaded pumpkin sticker?  Yes, it's a sticker! I added a Baked Brown Sugar twine bow to it, and set it on a "wooden table" in front of some plaid "wall paper". (I like to envision a scene as I create, and translate it with my papercrafting supplies)

The sticker is from Jolee's Boutique, which I bought at a JoAnn's store a few years ago.  I love it! So much texture with all those microbeads.

On the top corner of the card, I added a paper maple leaf and a die-cut acorn (Top Dog Dies Fall Foliage), to which a little bit of gold paint was dabbed on.  Oh, the plaid paper was from a bit of packaging from a Pier 1 Imports candle, and I mounted it on a white cardstock panel. That panel received the gold treatment too:  I ran my Krylon 18kt Gold Pen along the edges before adhering to the card base.

The interior of the card was left blank, so it can be used for an autumn birthday, or Thanksgiving, or 'happy fall', or whatever!

Thanks so much for joining me here today.
May your day be filled with blessings!

Happy Birthday Heart

This birthday card was inspired by Spring itself....which is when I created it!  It's taken a while to get it up on the blog.

Lots of fresh white, and a dose of spring green....You see what I mean? :-)

The heart doily die is from Top Dog Dies (they went out of business earlier this year, I believe), the sentiment banner is from Spellbinders, the sentiment from Power Poppy, and those sparkly clear sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh.

Glad you came by today; have a terrific, blessed day!

Little Boy Blue

Hello there!  I hope you've had a good week since we last got together here. :-)

This last week at work was very, very busy for me. Business seems to have picked up, and that's a good thing!  I had NO energy left by the time I'd get home.  Instead of heading up to my craft studio, I succumbed to the lure of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune on TV. It was my feeble attempt to have a little fun.  Ha!

I'm working on getting my Etsy shop open, little by little. I've already got a shop -- https://www.etsy.com/shop/CDietrichDesigns -- but there are no listings in it yet.

There are many things to consider, with 'branding', packaging, shipping, etc. I need a shop banner, too, and it's taking a little while to create. My darling 14 year old daughter helped me with it last weekend, using GIMP (a free editing tool, very similar to Adobe Photoshop). It needs a bit of tweaking, but wow, what a great help she was to me!

The card I'm sharing today really has my heart. Yes, it's intended for a little baby boy, with all that blue, but it is rather frilly. In my opinion, baby cards are really meant to appeal to mom and dad, anyway, so I'm sure this would be appreciated by a special couple who are blessed with a new little boy. :-)

If you have any questions on the materials I've used, please feel free to email me (look for the "Contact Me" tab at the top of the blog) or leave a comment and a way to reach you.

Thanks so much for taking a peek today, and hope you have a great day!
