Plum Christmas

Hi there!  I made a simple Christmas card using shades of lavender and plum.  Love this color for Christmas, it's different and unexpected.  I cut a tree out of plum glitter paper by DCWV and laid it atop a pretty digital printable that has lots of antique engraving flourishes.  The tree die is called "Christmas Tree" by Papertrey Ink.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink too, from the "Silent Night" stamp set.

Oh Christmas Tree!

O, Christmas Tree, o, Christmas Tree
How steadfast are your branches!
Your boughs are green in summer's clime
And through the snows of wintertime
O, Christmas Tree, o, Christmas Tree
How steadfast are your branches!

Have a beautiful day!

Dec 25

Another Christmas card for my stash!  I used a bunch of  Distress Ink Sprays to create a grungy brownish background and then stamped the Tim Holtz "Music and Advert" vintage advertisement on it.  I roughed up the edges and tore it in a few places to give it an aged look, as well.  The oval features a pine cone and sprig from Simon Says Stamp's "The Magic of Christmas" stamp set, topped with a label and stamp from Stampin' Up!'s "Winter Post".  I added snowy glitter around the oval, and topped it off with a small banner from Tim Holtz's ephemera packs.

God bless you today and every day!

White Poinsettias

I've got a Christmas card to add to my stash for the next holiday, and it's got a sort of monochromatic feel.  Green and cream make a restful palette.  The olive cardstock base was embossed with the Sizzix "Winter Foliage" embossing folder.  It's got lots of 3D detail.  The mistletoe patterned paper is from Stampin' Up! and the poinsettias and holly leaves are from Tim Holtz "Seasonal Sketch" die set.  I added pearly drops in the centers of the flowers.

Thanks for popping in!
Hope you have a wonderful day!

Eggnog

I've got another card to add to the Christmas stash for this coming holiday!  Traditional red and green for this one, based on the inspiration piece in the center.  This eggnog piece of ephemera is adorable, given to me by a friend.  I added a bit of clear glitter around the circle.  This was mounted on a piece of red cardstock embossed with Tim Holtz / Sizzix "Tapestry" embossing folder, and some red and white (peppermint!) twine and a red K & Co. poinsettia sticker are the only other additions.

Thanks for coming by!
Have a blessed day!

Christmas Holly

Hello!  We've got "Anything Goes" this week at Topflight Stamps, and I'm sharing a Christmas card to put away for later this year!  I started with a pretty marble-ish piece of paper from Craft Consortium Ink Drops Ocean Paper pad, because it reminds me of a frozen pond.  I splattered it with Lavinia Snow White Chalk Paint and set aside to dry.  With a Crealies Rectangle die, I cut a piece of white paper and stamped a sentiment from Creative Expressions "Tis The Season" stamp set with Versafine Clair Nocturne Black ink.  I dragged the edges of the rectangle with WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying embossing ink pad, then sprinkled on WOW! Pure Platinum embossing powder and hit it with a heat tool.  I also used some of the platinum embossing powder in random spots on the sentiment panel, and used the heat tool from underneath the paper so it wouldn't blow around.  On a scrap piece of cardstock, I stamped two holly clusters from Visible Image "Christmas Robin" with Memento Tuxedo ink.  Then I colored, fussy cut, and glued them to the sentiment panel.

Single Sparkly Tree

Another Christmas card to share:  this went to my mom this past Christmas.  She likes a modern aesthetic, so I think this comes clos.  The background of the olive green card base was embossed with Sizzix "Winter Foliage" 3D embossing folder.  Love the detail of it.  The green glitter tree was a gift tag on one of our gifts years ago, topped with a gold glitter punched star.  The iridescent white glitter "snow" is a diecut using Papertrey Ink "In The Meadow" die set.

Have a WONDERFUL day, and make the most of it!

Vintage Christmas Home

Love making Christmas cards all year round so I have enough when the next holiday comes around!  This traditionally-colored card was pretty simple, thanks to the focal point:  a die cut from a friend of a vintage house in the country during winter.  I topped it with a sentiment and matching punch from Stampin' Up! "Winter Post".  I used red Liquid Pearls on the sentiment's berries, plus on the berries of the vintage scene.  The red cardstock backdrop was embossed with Tim Holtz "Tapestry" embossing folder.

Hope you have a blessed day!

Christmas Robin

Good morning!  This card feels very appropriate for today.  We had at least a foot of snow between yesterday and today, and it's still snowing!  It's very beautiful, but I do feel badly that my husband has to do the shoveling.  Good thing he is strong.

For this Christmas card, the color scheme inspiration came from the gorgeous vintage robin post card image, from The Graphics Fairy.  The background die cut is Papertrey Ink's "In The Woods" in Blushing Bride cardstock (Stampin' Up!) and the branches were topped with iridescent glitter glue.  The same glitter glue is also on the bird image.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up!'s "Winter Post" oldie but goodie stamp set.

Stay warm, and thanks for taking a peek today!
God bless you!

Joy Bird

Hi there!  I had a pretty piece of vintage lace, already in the shape of a rosette, and needed to find a way to put it on a card.  I had just finished stamping/die-cutting a bird with foliage from Temu, and it seemed the perfect topper for the lace.  The background paper is from Hobby Lobby.  The "joy" sentiment is from Hero Arts "Peace Poinsettias" on a little Papertrey Ink "Tiny Tag" die cut.  I used a bulb-shaped safety pin that came with some new clothes, and added some pearls to it.  I attached it in such a way that it does dangle a little bit, there is some movement.  Something fun and different. 😊

Thanks for your visit!
God bless you!

Lavinia's Snowy Forest Christmas Card

Hello!  We're focusing on the beautiful products from Lavinia today at Topflight Stamps.  I gathered a couple of versatile stamps to create a snowy winter forest Christmas card.  I began with watercolor paper and Lindy's Stamp Gang Buccaneer Bay Blue Mist to create a moody background.  This spray has both a walnut brown and a pretty blue shift to it.  Once it dried, I used Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp first the Lavinia Moon.  Once that was positioned on the panel, I stamped the Lavinia Christmas Tree Group three times (well, really 2 and 1/8) across the bottom of the panel. And using the same ink, I stamped a sentiment from PaperArtsy Alison Bomber EAB05 stamp set to round it out.  The final touch was some iridescent glitter glue, dabbed across the trees.  Thanks so much for joining me, hope you have a great day!

The Holly & The Ivy

Hello!  This week at Topflight Stamps, we are focusing on Anything Goes!  I have a Christmas card to share, to add to my stash.  Using Crealies Stitched Rectangle dies, I created a frame for the PaperArtsy - Alison Bomber - Mini 96 stamp.  As I stamped the Mini 96 with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, I had the old Christmas carol "The Holly and The Ivy" playing in my head (Bing Crosby in particular).  So lovely!

After mounting the song lyrics on the red frame, I stamped some holly leaves and berries from Visible Image Christmas Robin on a scrap of white cardstock. I colored them and fussy cut them, and added to one corner of the lyrics, along with some die cut greenery from my stash.

Vintage Santa

Happy Thursday!  It's Colleen here with you again, sharing some Topflight Stamps goodness!  I am still trying to build my stash of Christmas cards for this year. I used a versatile stamp set for some 'wow' factor: Creative Expressions Tis The Season. This set has several beautiful images as well as sentiments.  I chose the Santa face to prominently display on my card.  Versafine Onyx Black Ink gave good coverage for all of the fine details on his face, beard and hat.  I fussy-cut the image and lightly distressed the edges with a brown ink, adding a touch of green for the holly leaves and one small red rhinestone as a holly berry.  In my stash, I found a red glitter paper to place behind Santa; so festive!

I stamped a sentiment from Creative Expressions Joyful Wishes on a little banner, and then mounted it, and Santa, on some burlap.  Love the unexpected pairing of glitzy with rustic!

Snowy Cottage

Hello!  Today I am sharing a snowy card with goodies from Topflight Stamps.  It's still cold where I live, and there is snow on the ground, and that inspired this wintry scene.

The cute little house is Crafty Individuals "Little Cottage In The Snow".  I stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black on patterned paper, then trimmed it out.  With a Crealies Stitched Rectangle die, I created a mat out of gold cardstock and mounted the cottage image on there.  The mat beneath that is a panel of white brick patterned paper from Craft Consortium Brick Textures paper pad.

I stamped little snowflakes from Studio Light - Vintage Winter Elements - Vintage Christmas stamp set on patterned paper and fussy-cut those out to add around the framed cottage.  Using a toothpick, I added dots of "snow" with Lavinia Snow White Chalk Paint all over the scene.

Last touch was a sentiment, which is from Creative Expressions Joyful Wishes, stamped twice.
