Wish Big Little Fawn

Hello friends!
Since I woke up my blog (ha ha) recently, I've been looking at the drafts I had saved quite a while ago.  Here's another!

I have one fairly simple card to share today.  Made it quite a while back and just now getting around to sharing it.

Avery Elle Story Book balloon, fawn, sentiment & matching dies; glitter frame; rhinestones

I added markings on the fawn with a white pen.

The chipboard frame is covered in white glitter but it sure was hard to capture in a photo.

Thanks again for taking a peek at my card!
Hope your day is blessed!

Cute Animals

Hello again!  I enjoy a variety of styles for cardmaking.  I've got a selection of cute animals from companies like Paper Smooches, Avery Elle, Hello Bluebird, PinkFresh and Lawn Fawn, to name a few.  The little guys below are from Avery Elle and I loved how this patterned paper (can't remember which company it comes from) created spaces for them to sit in picture frames.  So adorable!

Avery Elle 'More Stories' animals, sentiment, banner; Recollections pink heart stickers

Psalm 36:6 NIV

Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
your justice like the great deep.
You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.

Have a blessed weekend!

Birthday Bunch

Hi!  It's Wednesday evening, April 8, 2020.  My work day is over, so I get to share some things with you now. 😊

I had this post mostly prepared, but then I threw in some silver baby cup pics at the end.

Here are the birthday cards that I made within the last several months, and are/were at Arts Plus Gallery shop for sale.  They are open by appointment these days, if you interested in a visit there.

Lost Coast Designs Butterflies butterfly stamp; Altenew Label Love sentiment; crochet lace; Gina Marie Designs blue dots

Avery Elle Winter Wreath wreath, berries stamps and matching dies; orange rhinestones; Impression Obsession Birds dies; L'il Inker Designs Stitched Rectangle die; Papertrey Ink Keep It Simple: Birthday III sentiment stamp

Papertrey Ink Tiny Tags sentiment, tag; pearls; vintage thread; Stampin' Up! Wonderfully Worn background stamp, Kindness Matters butterfly stamp; Stampendous Charm Collection 'carte postale' stamp (stamped over patterned paper)

Impression Obsession Birds dies; Memory Box / Poppystamps Breezy Wreath die; Papertrey Ink Tiny Tags tag die and sentiment; pearls; Stampin' Up! rose die cut border (from a scrap bag), Sanded background stamp, Flower Trio punch; crochet lace; vintage thread

Stampin' Up! Bella Toile background stamp, floral and striped patterned paper scraps, Hip Hip Hooray card kit sentiment stamp; vintage thread; embossed gold scrap from a store-bought card

I mentioned in a post very early today that I had been polishing some silver baby cups.  And some of you have also been polishing silver, as well!  I took some quick pictures today with my iPhone to show you.

"Warren"

My daughter's monogram (and my fingers in the reflection 😆)

One of my faves, a tin cup that says 'Baby'

'E.M.' - such beautiful cursive initials

The other side of the 'E.M.' cup.  Isn't that an exquisitely detailed image??

My husband's cup on the right and the one that started my interest in collecting these is on the left.  It's a Wallace cup, and the silver has all but worn off over the years, showing copper beneath.

Hope your day was a good one, and I so appreciate your visits!
God bless you!

Thank You, Friend, You Are Enough...and more

Hello friends!  It's hump day, and we're halfway through the work and school week. For those of you who have young kids, how's the homeschooling going?  I have to admit, I don't think my stress level would be too good if I had to work from home full time AND help little ones stay focused and on track with schoolwork, plus find other ways to keep them occupied.  That would tire me right out!  God bless all of you who do it every day.

I've got a parade of cards to share today.  The first one is my favorite.  I am of Irish descent (Polish and Lithuanian too), born on St. Patrick's Day, and I have a penchant for shamrocks and Irish blessings.

Memory Box Lucky Charms, Lucky Leaves shamrock dies; Papertrey Ink Tiny Tags die, thank you sentiment; Stampin' Up! Itty Bitty Accents flower punch; pearls; vellum; Gina Marie Designs Pleated Lace Rectangles die; Ann-ticipations Irish Blessing stamp (under vellum); vintage thread

In the close-up below, you can see better the sheen on the green cardstock.  It has a pearly look.  Very pretty!

Memory Box Lucky Charms, Lucky Leaves shamrock dies; Papertrey Ink Tiny Tags die, thank you sentiment, Luck Of The Irish small shamrock stamp; Stampin' Up! Itty Bitty Accents flower punch; pearls; vellum; Gina Marie Designs Pleated Lace Rectangles die; Ann-ticipations Irish Blessing stamp (under vellum); vintage thread

Papertrey Ink Tiny Tags tag die, sentiment stamp; Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch; Stampin' Up! Itty Bitty Accents flower punch; pearls; My Favorite Things Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle STAX die; Prima paper; vintage thread

Wplus9 Clear Cut Stackers Stars dies; Papertrey Ink Double Ended Banners die; L'il Inker Designs Stitched Rectangles dies; silver cardstock; I can't remember which set the sentiment came from!

Papertrey Ink Choose Joy sentiment; Gina Marie Designs Picket Fences With Wood Grain Finish die, Frilly Lace Rectangle die; rhinestones; Altenew Lavender Bud stamp and die; small leaf die cuts from Stampin' Up! scrap bag

Echo Park Trust In The Lord sentiment; K & Co. butterfly die cut; Kat Scrappiness Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangles die; brown rhinestones, assorted Ranger Distress Ink sprays; gold embossed snippet from store bought card

I'm glad I bought the Papertrey Vintage Picnic set when I did, because it was on clearance and is all gone now.  It's the sweetest set.  I put my picnic basket on a gingham 'blanket'.

Papertrey Ink Topiary Trio dies, Vintage Picnic stamps and dies
(basket of food, sentiment); Gina Marie Designs Picket Fences With Wood Grain Finish die

A coworker of mine retired last year, and I made a card for him that looks very similar to the one below.

The Craft's Meow Just Sayin' sentiment; L'il Inker Designs Stitched Rectangles die; sun and palm tree stickers - dollar package; My Favorite Things Stitched Basic Edges die; Stampin' Up! Avant Garden dotted stamp

Verve Strong Anchor stamps (anchor, wheels) and matching Nautical dies; L'il Inker Designs Stitched Rectangles die; Inspired By Stamping Masculine Tags sentiment and nautical frame stamp, Fancy Label 2 dies; twine

Our Daily Bread Workshop Tools tool dies; Lost Coast Designs Measuring Tape stamp; Stampin' Up! Hardwood and Sanded background stamps; Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments sentiment

Avery Elle Winter Wreath stamps and dies (wreath, berries, bow); Impression Obsession Birds dies; Papertrey Ink Daily Designs Sentiments sentiment, Double Ended Banners die

I had my eye on this oldie but goodie Stampin' Up! set, Garden Pleasures, below, for a while.  I found it for a (bird) song on Mercari (it's a yard sale kind of site, where people sell used items and ship around the country; I sell things on there too, and have made a decent penny doing it!).  It is such a charming stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Garden Pleasures birdhouse, bird stamps, Holiday Home sentiment stamp, Linen background stamp; Spellbinders Lacy Squares die; pearls; Papertrey Ink Double Ended Banners die

Stampin' Up! Christmas Stocking punch (don't own it, not sure if that's the right name?), Hardwood background stamp; red gems; Sizzix / Tim Holtz Bricked embossing folder; twine; Hero Arts Holiday Sayings sentiment

Impression Obsession Square Shaker Frame die; Stampin' Up! Peaceful Boughs pine dies; Flourishes / Spellbinders Classic Tags die; Papertrey Ink Tag-Its #8 Mini sentiment; Stampin' Up! Hardwood background stamp; red button; twine

Before I go, I would like to share this verse from Scripture with you.  I say it aloud when I feel any anxiety creeping in to my mind:

2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

If we give in to fear, the enemy has won.  Stay positive, even amidst all the strangeness we are experiencing during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Research has proven that focusing on the positive is good for you.  I found this article on the Mayo Clinic's website that shows benefits of keeping negative thoughts away from your mind.  Here is an excerpt:

"The health benefits of positive thinking
Researchers continue to explore the effects of positive thinking and optimism on health. Health benefits that positive thinking may provide include:

  • Increased life span
  • Lower rates of depression
  • Lower levels of distress
  • Greater resistance to the common cold
  • Better psychological and physical well-being
  • Better cardiovascular health and reduced risk of death from cardiovascular disease
  • Better coping skills during hardships and times of stress

It's unclear why people who engage in positive thinking experience these health benefits. One theory is that having a positive outlook enables you to cope better with stressful situations, which reduces the harmful health effects of stress on your body."

Sending love and social distance hugs to you all!
God bless you!

All About Babies

Good morning, my friends!  I have this pre-scheduled to reach you on Monday, March 23, 2020, as I go about my telecommuting work day.  I hope you are doing well.  💖

Here are some baby cards to share for today:

Avery Elle More Stories bunny, flower & banner, Storybook birds; Papertrey Ink Think Big Favorites #16
baby sentiment, Filigree Border die; rhinestones

Stampin' Up! Filigree background stamp, rose border die (name unknown; was in a scrap bag); pearls; Verve Family Phrases sentiment stamp; Avery Elle Storybook bunny, birds; crochet lace

Hero Arts Old French Script background stamp; doily; pink button; pearls; crochet lace; Stampin' Up! deer stamp (name unknown; it was in a scrap bag - it's so cute!)

This last card could certainly be used for the birth of a baby, but sadly I had the occasion to make it for a coworker whose grand-baby did not make it full-term.  What a sad time for that family.

Stampin' Up! Filigree background stamp, Boho Blossoms, Flower Trio, Scalloped Circle punches; Papertrey Ink With Sympathy: Loss of a Child

And so that is all I have for you today, friends.  Be safe, be well, keep washing hands and surfaces, and stay away from each other.  LOL

God bless you!

Winnie The Pooh and mercy too

Hello friends!

I gathered together two cards to share with you today, and though the themes are different, they have in common a palette of pink and green.

I love, love, love this quote from Winnie The Pooh, which is a Plain Jane (small single stamp) from Verve Stamps.

Verve Stamps 'Plain Jane Smallest Things' sentiment - Avery Elle 'More Stories' bunny, flowers - My Favorite Things 'Stitched Scalloped Basic Edges' die (for grassy hill), 'Stitched Rounded Rectangles' for sentiment panel

The next card  is super clean and simple.  I was dying to use the Papertrey Ink 'Inspired: Mercy' set, so I stamped the sentiment on a Blushing Bride pink cardstock tag, and added some green crochet trim from Webster's Pages, plus a thread bow and pearl.

Papertrey Ink 'Inspired: Mercy' sentiment - tag from Stampin' Up! scrap bag - Webster's Pages green crochet trim

Hope you have a wonderful day!  God bless you!

Sweet Baby

Hello there, I hope you are doing well today!  We're mid-way through the week, and the weekend is just starting to appear on the horizon!  Hooray for weekends. 😁

I've got two baby cards today, and both use sweet little animals from the Avery Elle 'Storybook' stamp set.  Love those cute little critters.

Short supply lists in the caption beneath each picture.

Avery Elle 'Storybook' deer - Papertrey Ink 'Tag Sale #5' die - pale green cotton twine, pale green resin medallion accent from Stampin' Up! - DCWV 'Nana's Nursery: Girl' patterned paper

Though it might not initially catch your eye, I used the My Favorite Things die called Grassy Fields on the card below.  It's actually the negative piece that resulted after I die cut some grass.  I hate to throw away things that can be repurposed, so I did add that here beneath the bunny's feet.

Avery Elle 'Storybook' bunny, birds stamps - Craft's Meow 'Sending You Sunshine' hello banner - My Favorite Things 'Sensational Stitched Flowers' die for tiny pink flower - Papertrey Ink 'Sweet Blush' pink felt, 'Tiny Tags' die and baby stamp  - My Favorite Things 'Grassy Fields' die

I am so glad you stopped by!  Enjoy your day and God bless you!

I've got more cards to share with you all.  I photo-edited them all (from 2016 through several months ago - whew!) and loaded into blog post drafts.  Little by little, I can get the posts published to show you what I've been up to, crafty-wise.

Thanks for coming by today!
God bless you, have a wonderful week!
